War In Ukraine Day 6: Russia Changed Tactics And Succeeded. Huge Casualties And Humanitarian Disaster (Video 18+)

On March 1, 2022, on the sixth day of the war in Ukraine, the Russian military changed its tactics, both in terms of conducting military operations against the AFU and in terms of their attitude towards the civilian population.

On March 1, numerous unmanned reconnaissance drones of the Russian Armed Forces were observed in the skies over Ukraine, especially near Kharkiv. The question arises why the Russians actually neglected this element of aerial reconnaissance in the previous 5 days, after they reached full air supremacy. Apparently, the answer lies in the incompetence of some of the Moscow carpet generals, who had achieved the command positions in the military operation against Ukraine through intrigues seeking for upcoming awards and promotions.

Gross mistakes in the first 5 days of the war on the part of the Russian command in a number of directions are noted by both Russian and American military experts. For example, it is hard to imagine the logic of the senior commander, who on February 27th ordered a platoon with 4 light armored vehicles, separated from the main forces and without prior reconnaissance to go deep into the city area of Kharkiv in order to take and protect the transport ring. As a result, the grouping was destroyed and one soldier was taken prisoner. There were many such examples during the first 5 days of the operation, especially in the Kharkiv direction, somewhat less in the Kherson and Sumy areas.

However, on March 1 the situation objectively changed. In addition to the use of drones for reconnaissance, rear and supply columns of the Russian Armed Forces began to move with combat guards. The movement of Russian armored vehicles, both on the march and in urban areas with infantry on armor, was noted.

The presence of the Russian Air Force’s strike aircraft in the skies of Ukraine has increased. Coordination and interaction between various units of the Russian Armed Forces has intensified. Artillery is used wherever possible. The accuracy of missile and air strikes has increased. The Russians began striking military facilities that they had apparently previously planned to seize relatively undamaged, such as the Kharkiv aviation and tank military academies, the infrastructure, hangars and warehouses of the largest military airfield near Kharkiv.

The reaction of Russian servicemen to provocative actions on the part of civilians and especially members of the so-called territorial defense forces, consisting of civilians without military uniforms, has also changed significantly. Kiev had previously urged civilians to actively resist the Russian occupation by forcefully throwing Molotov cocktails at Russian vehicles, blocking roads, launching surprise attacks, approaching under the guise of peaceful intentions, etc. Until March 1, Russian servicemen had orders to avoid retaliating to civilian provocations in every possible way, up to and including the consequences of criminal prosecution.

Russian soldiers on February 28th:

Russian soldiers on March 1:

Since March 1 the order seems to have changed and Russian units started to act in accordance with the standards of behavior on enemy territory. Thus, on March 1, in response to an ambush by members of the territorial defense near Kherson, who attempted to throw Molotov cocktails at a Russian convoy, brutal retaliatory fire was opened to the enemy. Video records at least 10 dead. In other areas of Ukraine, when demonstrative attempts were made on camera to block the advance of Russian military equipment, the Russian Armed Forces immediately used special means and fired into the air. The activists immediately scattered.

The change in the tactics of Russian units is attributed to the experience of the first five days of the conflict and the fact that combat generals and senior officers with extensive experience of combat operations in various regions were brought in to command.

The Ukrainian authorities are refusing to provide evacuation assistance to their population. Residents in Kyiv are being given up to the mercy of fate. The Kyiv administration is taking no action to ensure the evacuation of the city’s residents through a humanitarian corridor to the west. The railway station is jammed. Police and law enforcement forces are absent. Children and the elderly are the primary victims.

There were incidents of the seizure of expensive private vehicles belonging to civilians by servicemen of the Ukrainian armed forces and nationalist battalions. The formal reason is that they are going to the front lines. And for “moving to the front line” only new cars of those residents who cannot offer resistance or boast of high patrons are targeted. Criminal gangs and looters, who have been handed guns, become more active in the city. Many hundreds of residential apartments and stores have been looted.

Russian units are in no hurry to enter the capital. The Russian Armed Forces are expanding their zones of control around Kiev, making no attempt to enter into the urban area. Russian troops are now close to Brovary, a suburb of Kyiv, where they have gained a foothold. The humanitarian corridor from Kiev to the west is open, with no Russian units or aviation operations in this direction.

In fact, the events taking place in the city, especially the demonstrative inaction of the Ukrainian authorities in the social sphere and public order, on the one hand, and the fierce propagandistic bravado in the information space, on the other hand, have begun to change the mood of the city’s residents toward the authorities. The Ukrainian authorities are rapidly losing the support of the city’s residents and the groundwork that had been achieved by the propaganda in the previous days. If two days ago more than 90% of Kiev residents perceived the actions of Russia extremely negatively, now they equally negatively perceive both the Russian aggression and the activity of the offices of the President of Ukraine and the Mayor of Kiev.

In Kharkiv, the situation is even worse. The city administration refuses even to negotiate the opening of a humanitarian corridor. Units of nationalist battalions are shooting at the cars of citizens who are trying to leave the city. Numerous casualties have been reported.

On March 1, Russian ground units entrenched on the outskirts of Kharkiv. The Russian Air Force conducted heavy missile and bombing strikes against key military infrastructure facilities in the city. Eyewitnesses noted the shelling of the outskirts of the city with multiple rocket launchers. Both sides of the conflict blame each other for the shelling. There is intermittent exchange of fire in the outskirts of the city. In the afternoon of March 1, strong activity of the Russian Air Force air force was noted in the vicinity of Kharkiv.

On March 1, units of the DPR and the Russian Federation completely surrounded Mariupol. Almost all of the neighboring settlements, including. Shyrokyne and Sartana are under the control of “Eurasian Coalition” forces. The humanitarian corridors will be open until March 2. After that, the final mopping up of the city is apparently planned. On the night of March 2, there was fighting in the outskirts of the city. The demoralization of the Mariupol garrison was reported. Units which have previously retreated from Volnovakha to Mariupol are coming into confrontation with the city garrison. Overall command is lost.

The undetonated “Tochka-U” of the AFU in the residential area in Mariupol

Between Donetsk and Mariupol, fighting is going on in Volnovakha, a key stronghold of the AFU in the Donbass. Units of the AFU are trying to provide cover for the withdrawal of their main forces from the region. In the first half of the day, shots were recorded from the Ukrainian armed forces at civilians who were trying to leave the settlement under a white flag.

Eduard Basurin, an official representative of the DPR forces, confirmed that the headquarters of the Ukrainian Task Force “North” was completely destroyed. Almost all the officers were killed. Earlier it was reported that the commanders of the Ukrainian task force groups “North” General Dmytro Krasilnikov and “East” Yuri Sodol were liquidated during a special operation, the headquarters of the “East” task force was also destroyed. This information is confirmed by the office of the president of Ukraine, who said that he awarded Krasilnikov and Sodol the title of heroes of Ukraine posthumously.

LPR forces on their front lines have also enjoyed considerable success on March 1. Starobelsk and a number of nearby villages were liberated. Progress is being made towards Severodonetsk and Rubizhne. Svatovo has been blockaded. Russian Federation troops advancing from the border reached Izyum and entrenched their attack positions.

In the Zaporizhia area, fighting is going on near Vasilievka, where the Russian Armed Forces are breaking through the AFU stronghold that covers Zaporizhia. Losses on all sides are reported.

Probably the main news of the day on March 1, 2022, is the complete takeover of the important regional center of Kherson by Russia. Russian units occupied all key points in the city. The administration is cooperating and doing its best to maintain a peaceful situation in the city with the help of the Russian Armed Forces. The disarmament of the members of the “territorial defense” begins. The police, ambulance and emergency services are working as usual. The city is relatively calm.

In the Nikolayev area, instead of a direct assault, the Russian Armed Forces encircle the city. As of the night of March 2, the city is already semi-enclosed. The Nikolayev – Krivoy Rog road is cut.

No signs of the Russian landing force, which had been scaring the city’s residents for the past few days, have been found in Odessa. There is panic and hysteria in the city. There are reports of looting and activation of criminal elements, for which Odessa is famous for the past 150 years. Let us recall that Odessa has had a Russian-Jewish-Moldovan-Greek population from its founding in 1784 by the Russian Empress Catherine the Great until the present time.

The war in Ukraine from 2014 to the present has already become the bloodiest conflict in Europe in the last 77 years, surpassing all of the Yugoslav wars combined. Over the past six days, according to sources inside the conflicting parties, at least 2 730 personnel on the Russian and LDPR side and 11 150 on the Ukrainian side, including deserters, have been killed or missing.

So Russia will now fully takeover, or they’ll starve the morale out of them like some throughout history. Glad Russia is taking advantage of its aerial power.

yep

proper reconnaissance should enable RuAF to eliminate ukro artillery and their last remaining operational ability and then they are finished as an organized military force/army

Q

Yeah, but they still can barricade in cities and use civilians as human shield.

Observer

What a twist of fate and irony to be Holodomored. Which is extremely sad. I feel for Ukraine. But there is no reason it had to be this way now.

Not sure what is “nationalist” about letting some Khazar Jew who is clearly controlled say “hey i’m one of you guys” when his action is to jail your comrades and his enemies. More importantly, he reaches out to USA. This should be a major red flag because first all the baggage USA represents and exports and second because to hope to ride the armament train and become the next Taliban is just such an unrealistic strategy. Maybe that desire just flows from a gut reaction that it will anger Russia and so to hate Russia and do everything to spite Russia is good. But that is such an outdated mindset.

And that seems to be the problem. Their ideology is to be fighting yesterday’s war. To pretend it’s 1920 or 1930 and Russia is the murderous threat it was then.As for Russia’s brutality and memories of the past, everything Russia has done has been to move in and bring Ukraine back by saving lives.

Even if you say that’s not good enough, I also want free speech and nationalism, to what degree is that even being offered to Ukraine in Ukraine by Ukraine’s leaders?

The facts are clear: Ukraine will be much stronger under Russia when you look at how Western Europe is deteriorating under Western immigration and degeneracy. Russia today is or could be closer to the ideal society that Ukraine are fighting for. They would get closer through Russia than having a NATO Jew comedian and US pressure of unlimited immigration and degenerate culture.

And let’s talk about development: after how clearly Ukraine has been pillaged all these years, how little advantage was taken in the last decade of the great shale resources Ukraine is now revealed to be sitting on, why would they want more of that? The place is a goldmine. Russia will help Ukraine move forward as such, whereas the US didnt want to tap that because it would saturate the markets and drive down prices.

Move on, Ukraine. If the right in Europe can be friends with an entity in Moscow and forgive despite the past, you can too! It was 100 years ago: let go.

Zellerboy is just a bad cia/mossad actor. He is corny. He is not even playing his part that good. He will throw the last ukrop baby at a Ru tank before departing to Langley to enjoy his well earned pension.

Well said!

rabello

They started with the belief that the ukrainians wouldn’t be hostile. This is why they tried their best to not hurt the civilians, even at the cost of leaving military infrastructure operating and losing their own soldiers.

This has changed yesterday. So they are now using encirclement to let “the things go”, starve the population, give the gangs to create mayhem and the nazis to go nuts.

the end

Russians should take over the media and start sending out the true nature why they are there. As long as Nazi media is operational, slower progress for liberators.

Karl

I only wish Russia got to exercise it’s TOS-1A themobarics

It’s a shame

Max

“Since March 1 the order seems to have changed and Russian units started to act in accordance with the standards of behavior on enemy territory.”

Finally!

Adz

You couldn’t blame them for at least, trying to take over with the least amount of collateral damage

But reality hit them by the third day I guess

Realno

A bit overreacting SF. Incident with a platoon of 4 Tigers WAS the biggest error, fully exploited by ukro&nato propaganda. But in a large military operation such as this, it happens. I kind of doubt he ordered them, more likely they just lost their way. U.S. vehicles lost their way a couple of times, in both Yugoslavia and Iraq. I remember 3 American soldiers in 1999. captured by Serbs because they somehow failed to notice the border and just drive in… Not to mention how Iran captured a bunch of them. p.s. if someone really ordered them to go deep into hostile city on their own, he should be removed from his command asap, but also court martialed.

Back in Iraq a Supply convoy drove into the wrong part of town and was wiped out instantly. It was part of the larger battle of Nasiriyah.

Peppe il Sicario

I was just about to mention the same incident and then saw your comment. Yeah, that was a bloody day for the US. I think over 20 troops were killed and a prisoner taken, a woman if I remember correct.

Dave

Yeah, that sounds more realnistic. But really, if Russia wants to win this, they need to do what SF tells them! ;-)

Maju

Well, they are REPORTING, INFORMING, what is something almost impossible to get elsewhere, be it Western or Russian media. Sending a tank bataillon to their very avoidable deaths without support or even a plan, not understanding that the Maidan-Ukrainians are trying to make the cities into “fortresses” that stall the unavoidable Russian advance, as well as other apparent errors of utter naivety on the side of Russia’s planning, are important informative elements.

Information is the biggest secondary victim of this situation (it was already hurt before by covid totalitarianism and the US civil conflict), so we must praise quality info and analysis as SF tries to do. It’s not so much about taking sides but about UNDERSTANDING, ultimately we can’t issue any judgement without that.

the end

Reading some of these last days articles on SF, sounds like they are made by Russian 5th column, like intentionally trying to paint Russians as Draculas. I believe such articles are paid by outside forces and SF picks them up just for money…

Razr

Respectfully, I have to disagree. Iraq was long ago-not this much available drone tech , At least the military command could’ve sent drone recon before those poor boys were sent to be gotten pulverized. 500 KIA in 7 days??

Ivanus59

It is a shame that we had such mistakes made in the first few days of the operation, good Russian servicemen lost their lives for blunders of commanders. – Never again I hope! These american-made hooligans must be crushed decisively and with an iron fist! No more tolerance for provocations, only a harsh response is needed, one from which they will not come back to their feet easily.. or at all. These scumbags think war is fun, we shall teach them otherwise.

maximus

Money laundering Ukraine especially American dollars !!

Red Admiral

It does indeed seem that there were serious blunders by Russian forces. However, it also seems those blunders were predicated on the belief that Russian troops would be accepted as liberators especially in the predominantly Russian speaking areas of Ukraine. From the information which has been emanating out these past few days this appears not to have been the case. So, it appears flawed Russian intelligence allowed Ukrainian troops along with Nazi SS units to murder at will “behind the Russian advance”. That at last has come to an end and we can now expect to see those cowardly Nazi SS units hunted down as the rabid and deformed beings they have grown into over these past 8 years.

Observer

Read my response!

Observer

What a twist of fate and irony for Ukraine to be surrounded and again be Holodomored. Which is extremely sad. But there is no reason it had to be this way.

They say they are taking a stand for nationalism, for nationhood. But not sure what is “nationalist” about letting some Khazar Jew who is clearly controlled by the West say “hey i’m one of you guys” and run the show when his action is to jail your comrades and his enemies. More importantly, he reaches out to USA. This should be a major red flag because first all the baggage USA represents and exports and second because to hope to get funded and armed as a bulwark against US enemies is just such an unrealistic strategy. US usually dumps its enemies and leaves them to the wolves. And here too Ukraine is getting burnt. Taliban just got lucky things turned out differently.

Maybe that desire to follow such a course was impulse, a gut reaction that it will anger Russia, and that to hate Russia and do everything to spite Russia is good. But that is extremely foolish. And really everything they’ve done is foolish. Attacking the ethnic Russians and cleansing them in the east (regardless of whether they wanted to be part of Russia before Ukraine attacked them) was extremely foolish in that it gave Putin the high ground to do what he is doing now. It would have made so much more sense to come into agreement with Russia, to work together. Ukraine is too small to take advantage of its great newly found natural resource strength anyway. It needed investors and investment money. Why not from Russia? All these years Russia kept its word and paid Ukraine tariffs to deliver resources though Ukraine. That Ukraine did not benefit from this in how the Ukraine government spent its money is not Russia’s fault.

But Ukraine could not shake its hate for Russia and was in its mind still fighting yesterday’s war. To pretend it’s 1920 or 1930 and Russia is the murderous threat is just childish. As we can see everything Russia has done since this invasion has been to move in and bring Ukraine back but by taking every precaution to save lives. That alone proves it.

Even if you say that’s not good enough, I also want free speech and nationalism, to what degree is that even being offered to Ukraine in Ukraine by Ukraine’s leaders?

Ukraine will be much stronger under Russia when you look at how Western Europe is deteriorating under Western immigration and degeneracy. On your point about seeing Russia as a murderous threat I know good conservatives in the US who think communists still rule, that the fall of the USSR was a deception operation. Journalist Cliff Kincaid is very solid in some ways but is unbalanced on Russia now. Also a very decent Ukrainian-American friend is very hostile to Russia. I understand why but Russia is very different now.

Observer

” Also a very decent Ukrainian-American friend is very hostile to Russia. I understand why but Russia is very different now.”

And it isn’t just Ukraine. The entire former communist bloc thinks this way. Even the most educated. I’ve seen it. The west has a tremendous propaganda weapon in result. Russia is really paying now for what happened historically.

But that Russia then is not the Russia now. As you say. It is foolish for Ukraine to evaluate the situation based on what was rather than what is. Their conclusions should be based on what is real and in the present. Evaluating scenarios to choose a pathway is probably best when the odds are calculated based on what is.

The Objective

Who cares about your propaganda? Moscow’s LGA council is already complaining about the war. Many Russian officials think it was a mistake to have started it. Now you are peddling the Kremlin’s propaganda script as if everyone here is dumb. You Russians are terrible at propaganda. You simply don’t have the military to back up your imperial appetite. I hope Ukraine awakens you to the weakness of the Russian military. We’ll see how this war ends, but it doesn’t look good for Russia in the long-term. More TB2s en route from Turkey!

Tom Bombadillo

“Imperial appetite”??? What an ignorant, hypocritical thing to write about Russia. And it would be just as ignorant and hypocritical if you wrote it about China or Iran or North Korea. You Americans, Limeys and Western Europeans are the imperialist pigs with the imperial appetites, not Russia. And I’m writing this as a Yank myself. People like you have wasted so much American tax dollars so that people like you can be imperialistic pigs. Now haven’t you??? Yes you have.

Brother Ma

Sooner Turkey is partitioned the better.

Brother Ma

Very true. I could not believe Russia payed those tariffs and even when Ukraine stole gas destined for Germany and Europe, but I guess Russia wanted foreign freethinkers to sympathise with them . They wanted the same here amongst the Ukros but I guess the hate and brainwashing was too much or most hostile wcts acts are by Ukronazis. Either way, the average ukro will now pay for it. Such is war. Sucks to be Ukro when they should have done a counter – Maidan if they really wanted it. I guess too many ukros liked the policies of Ukro – Jewish Nazis and Natoists.

The Objective

“These scumbags think war is fun, we shall teach them otherwise.” Typical Russian hypocrisy even worse than America’s. Who started the war?

zman

Probably Mossad. Who backs and supports Azov, Aidan, Right Sector? Kolomoyskyi.

Observer

Ironically if this would be a nuclear war, Azov and co. would probably be of the few in an arguably in a better position.

As it stands they are surrounded and have about the same survival chances as the Cossacks fighting for Hitler in France in 1944, or returning to the Soviet Union to be liquidated.

If there was a nuclear war, on the other hand, Moscow and Washington would be flattened, Europe too. Who has a nuke pointed at Azov? Nobody.

williepeter

whoever let carpet generals direct the war should be sent to Kharkov

Adam Kafei

I’d suggest that depends on the motive, I imagine most militaries have such “carpet generals” and most know who those are, this is an ideal opportunity to expose and remove them thereby making the military that much more effective in the future.

Is it nice? No. Should it come at the expense of the lives of soldiers? No. Is it an unfortunate necessity? Most likely.

"Nobody"

Welp… playing both sides, this conflict has become far more complex, and the objectives laid out by Russia to the west have fallen on deaf ears and is ACTUALLY being suppressed.

Ukraine will either have to be fully seized by Russia, or they leave and it instantly falls to EU/NATO and then has a bunch of guns pointed at them.

I have a ton of respect for Ambassador Nebenzia. He is the ONLY rational man, and the UN meetings are the only info devoid of noise… even when propagandists ask propagandist questions. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=244KhUFoKso)

The west has completely completely isolated Russia when dealing with this conflict because the hegemonic elite wanted an anti-russia next door… to fully blossom and become the 5th Reich (4th Reich is USA).

Because the west is trying absolutely everything to turn this conflict into WWIII… I’m out, I will officially become a neutral party until this conflict becomes solved, and WWIII is avoided.

Biden and Zelensky will go to hell, that I guarantee.

Cyric Vigilius

Russia will have to take the east and leave the west as a modern Idlib. Zelensky has to be removed. He is going to get a lot more people killed. He is not fit to be President. He thinks he is in a play. His ego has been so inflated now he will never agree to terms. Completely Isolated? Well America and her usual Vassals Western Europe, Canada, Australia. They make a lot of noise of course. A lot of European countries such as Slovakia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Italy have to go along with the official line through coercion. The country that I most disappointed with of all is Greece. What a bunch of Quislings. They will certainly need help in the future, and they will be on there own. Piss on the Greeks. Russia only really needs China to stay firm.

China is also under pressure. So far, the government was able to thwart coup attempts, but they’re there. The AAA has built up huge companies there, especially the Shanghai clique (not to be confused with the Shanghai treaty, which is sth. different). Klaus Schwab & Co. love the Chinese model of social credits and control, they don’t like the attempt to provide prosperity to all (they need countries to be in debt). So far, the Chinese government seems to have a firm grip, but there are many fifth columns in China and e.g. Soros has long standing influence there, as do some Trumpians.

Peppe il Sicario

Have you seen what Greece looks like today? The capital Athens looks like the Bronx or Detroit from most pixs. Their government has become a colony of not just the US, but Israel. Pathetic serf clowns the entire political and economical establishment.

Brother Ma

Greece is poor, small and surrounded by enemies on all sides. Don’t expect much from Greece, even if most of the people are still knowledgeable about NATO hypocrisy and lies. The people have no power, and all party leaders there are pro-US. Exactly like Serbia.

Snagger

It’s interesting to note what the UN ambassador, Nebenzia, said in reply to Nikki Haley remarking in UNSC that US and Russia would never be “friends.” There seems to be some large truth to his reply:

“Nebenzia turned to the remarks made earlier by his US counterpart, Nikki Haley, who said that US and Russia “will never be friends.”

“We’re not particularly keen to be friends with you,” the Russian envoy replied. “We’re not begging you for friendship. We want normal, civilized relations – which you arrogantly refuse, disregarding basic courtesy.”

“You are misguided to think you have friends,” Nebenzia cautioned. “Your so-called friends are just those who can’t say no to you. This is your only criteria for friendship.”

Ouch!! May Nikki live to be properly humiliated and held to account for her high “diplomacy.”

Oh, forgot to mention, earlier she said that the US will just “slap” Russia when needed…

So, no drones because Russia’s army had too many boomers in charge ?

Earthrise

Why play with toy planes, when you have air superiority and SU-27’s?

jens holm

Drones are not toy. You has to see they are very cheep and more flexible and by plat partl can replace airplanes. They do.

Armenia was a very good example. Those tanks was sitting ducks but much harder and more expensive to kill by jets.

Earthrise

You are having a busy day, lay off the Red Bull. Attack drones are for when you don’t have/can’t use an Air Force. Why would you spit on someone, when you can drop a Mac truck on them?

I honestly think they thought’d they’d win on the ‘surrender or die’ ultimatum, now it’s a fucking circus of pro-nazi “resistance” Call of Duty LARPers. This will be the West/EU/NATO’s greatest blunder in history.

Ukraine is not as You descriebe but what You have learned. Crimara was a part of the Ottomans and after that the Tatar Khanat finally was knocked suicide muslims. That land was the south west and ristov as well.

Next you forget Russia in the late days of WW2 moved the whole Ukraine west as well as Belarus expelling so many from there and taking land from Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Roumania, Lituania and even Kaliningrad being 100% German and before that named Königsberg with Famous Kant and castles.

Russia also parttly by Krustjoff added 2 Oblasts as well as ukraine to make Russian there as excuse for protection.

Even before that after WW1 and efter the Ukrainians defended themself as own or non communists based in Nationalism in a non socialistic way supported by the farners.

You forget thise facts. Russia has a firced patent and also forgot KEEP when the tx´zars kindly assisted by uncleMarx made the decades of chaos after that.

Manu

It’s hard to buy this “we made mistakes for 5 days straight without anyone putting a stop to it.” Either they adapted the strategy after 5 days of better learning the situation, or this change is mostly blown out of proportion by the article and in actuality a slight adaptation if that.

When I read the title I was almost expecting carpet bombing… the adjustment doesn’t seem that dramatic and not even really reported in the other outlets I find.

goingbrokes

Operational mistakes is one thing, a purely military one, but this 5 days looks like a political miscalculation, costly albeit understandable. I believe it was to give Ukis the chance to not bring destruction on themselves unnecessarily by stopping Ru soldiers responding to provocations too brutally. In the end it didn’t work, but this is the nature of risks, there is always a chance that it fails. US conducts war entirely differently, minimising risks in the most brutal ways. The brainwashing campaign in Ukraine has taken root and many, it seems, now hate Russians. This did not used to be the case.

jens holm

I agree in the first parts. The russians didnt expect any resistance and Ukras running away. They also are learned to see themselv as liberators just taken back and arrived with supporting flags in the streets.

But what they also know its a no go to kill Russians if Ukriane is a part of russia.

So as i see it Putin has to be in that compromize.

In its worst/best version Putin has to resign. Its a kind of desperation. And they have no replacer.

Manu

Agreed but it also seems odd that they would not have accounted for years of brainwashing. And I still can’t find this “sudden change” in other media. For all I can reckon, the war is still not really bloody on the civilian side. With still only 100 civilian deaths according to UN, compared to the 11k UAF deaths.

Earthrise

Russians aren’t afraid to spend blood for victory.

jens holm

Sure. They are raised as spendables. Thats a great help. My country is Putin and the Oligarcs. They are private property in a kind of new feudalisme with no ropes.

jens holm

Its an unqualified journalisme.

Wars like this is in well prepared phases. They are in phase one removing the advanced things Ukra has. It seemes the Ukras has delayed them well.

Phase two will be all those ground troops, which hopefully by them will meet only light resistence.

After that – if succesfull – they will eliminate still resisting pockets one by one. That part might take time because ukraine is a very big country.

Russians has several problems. They dont have people there as support. I also kind of hope those many incommers and others will be light infantery in very small groups having many RPGs.

I take side in this. We has to let those Ukrainians alone and only make nprmal trade relations with them as we do for most of the rest of the world. As longs as its their own problems, they are not here.

Something like that.

Johny K

While the empower Comedian puppet president with a Napoleon Bonaparte grandiose dreams, now that his narcissism had went up through his head, less chance of a peace treaty, but he made sure from the first days of the wars to take his family out of dangers and send them to safety and he is hiding in a bunker, is telling the Ukrainian people to stand and fight the enemy with molotov cocktails, pistols and rocks. So much evil are upon the Ukrainian people from the west is very sad. Many citizens are not allow by the goo AZOV fake Nazi Battalion and the Ukrainian forces to leave the conflict zones, so they will be use as human shields later and as pieces of blackmail and as martyrs for their own gain. America and the west are the evil Empire who really and secretly did crated this crisis, and force Russia to take this despair steps. The Ukrainian people can’t be so blind and naive, they are been use like pawns by their own government and armed forces.

jens holm

Even Your selfies are censured.

Fred Mc

The blood of this action is entirely on the hands of the USA.

Corrupt Shithole of Ukropisstan

Crumbling americant empire

jens holm

Whats you problem. You see its being replaced by succes all over.

jens holm

No. The pinquins in Antarctica did it. Some of the speak English and are from the Falkland islands.

Slobodan

“The war in Ukraine from 2014 to the present has already become the bloodiest conflict in Europe in the last 77 years, surpassing all of the Yugoslav wars combined. Over the past six days, according to sources inside the conflicting parties, at least 2 730 personnel on the Russian and LDPR side and 11 150 on the Ukrainian side, including deserters, have been killed or missing.”

How is this the fact, when just in Bosnia and Hercegovina around 100.000 people where killed during the war?

Matej

Killed per day. Bosnian war was years long. This is in 6 days.

jens holm

Well, I think You forget to add the first devastating killings were between Croats and Serbs in fx Vukovar.

Many died very fast there.

It wasnt a Bisnia war. It actually began when Slovenia was allowed to leave the whole cirkus after some few hard killings.

And where did it end. Kosovo. Macedonia or what.

The rest is correct. Not so many a day. I would say the hardes killings was the Bosniaks trying to take back the hills with determinat infanterty twice north of Tuzla. The first Bosniak Army(grpup) almost killed themself.

jens holm

Some more verified sources would be nice.

Russians are well known for lower their losses a lot and the enemy losses are randoim addictions.

I kind of expect the same from Zelinsky.

Yuhiam

Rusian and Ukraine kill each other to the last one and US happy to see this Both of u are American’s robots …lol That is not wrong or right. Ukrainian lost mind, stupid, blind, dumb when they trust in American

A LESSON FROM FINLAND Looking at the map, we can see that Finland is bordered to the North by Norway, to the West by Sweden, and to the East by Russia. From the Gulf of Finland there are Estonia, Latvia, Luthuania, Belarus.

To them is a small and weak country, receiving no help from the West when it was invaded by the Soviet Union. Maintaining the Soviet Union’s trust therefore required them to humble themselves by sacrificing some economic and some freedom of expression. They had to censor so that the media could not speak ill of the Soviet Union. They understood that Finland would never be safe if the Soviet Union felt unsafe. In foreign relations, Finland always walked a tightrope between developing relations with the West and maintaining trust with the Soviet Union. It is a liberal social democracy that for decades has maintained an excellent and trusting relationship with the former Soviet Union and present Russia without becoming a junior. . Finland is just a small country, with a long border with the Soviet Union. The allies cannot be relied on. The vital responsibility of the nation and the country must be self. Far water cannot save near fire. Even though Finland is a member of the EU and has been invited to join NATO, so far Finland has only reserved that invitation. They know that if they join NATO, surely Russia will not let them be in peace.

jens holm

I allow me to add the russians also has taken greta parts of the old Finland their second largets town Vippury included. They also has lost several islands in the Fíish bay. Many in the Vippory Region was killed and the rest was expelled, so they do now hos it is.

But its also true Finland was dominated and even a part of Sweden and before that Russia not even had a harbour at the baltic Sea.

Before that Vikings was of big importance for the infrastructure there. North in Norway, Finland and Russia there hardly was any of them. Ther was finnish tribers and fx Samers.

The change was trade by the English making Archangels buying what they could form northern Sibiria.

jens holm

They have voted about it.

Yamil Perez

So? What is the problem you anti-semitic homophobic bigot?

Neo Galt

Finally the tide is turning for Russia. Just unbelievable the last 5 days due to those “carpet generals” who cost many soldiers’ lives. Hopefully the operation can end as quickly as possible.

Earthrise

You have heard of satellites?

jens holm

He was a child under WW1.

Dave

You mean Russia finally understood they’re at war… and not just paying a visit to the historic lands of the Kiev Rus’? Well, as Ukraine officially arms all its citizens and they attack, they should be considered military combatants unless they signal that this is not so. I suggest the staff of SF takes over the war… since they’re obviously far more competent than the Russian military and their generals.

Timmy Temeperance

Good news about Russian military successes which will facilitate a swift conclusion to the conflict. Zelensky will be remembered for dragging Ukraine into an unwineable war, arming criminals and Nazis, and asking women and children to throw molotov cocktails at heavily armed soldiers. Great coverage Southfront, keep up the good work.

M.H.

I think these are good somehow good news, it will hopefully shorten a war which was and maybe still is in danger of unnecessary been dragged out. It will safe lives of countless Ukrainians and Russians.

With the criminal mobilization of the civilians to take up arms in a useless struggle, to be thrown in like a Volkssturm in 1945 Germany, with no military capability or value, made me lose the last sympathies for the Ukrainian side.

That no one in Zelenskys surrounding or circle stood up and said enough with that bullshit. That is a tragedy of itself.

Just like the president of the Russian federation Putin said, it is an “empire of lies”.

Zelensky and his clique serve his masters in Washington DC not people of Ukraine. Same as Poroshenko, Yulia Timoshenko… same as Saakashvili in Georgia. They are ready to sacrifice entire country only to please their masters. Same as almost all “leaders” in EU. They are ready to follow the US into nuclear war, into hell itself. And their absolutely brainwashed population is sadly not much different….

jens holm

Russia has not changed its tactics. Phase two has begon.

Phase one is to make space for it. It seemes phase one has been delayed well by the Ukras.

hmm

your mental disease terminal phase has “begon” not even “Ukras” or doctors or vets can delay it…

Arch Bungle

> has been delayed well by the Ukras

5 day battle. Russia has full air dominance. Ground troops everywhere that matters.

And you use the word “delayed” ????

Your brain is “delayed”.

M.H.

Jens, but to be fair, and that is nothing you can deny, history of conflicts had shown us, and it is not important if it was a “good” or “bad” cause or reason for that conflict, that the way of conducting war the American-way or NATO-way would have been a monthlong non-stop bombardment of anything that moves, destruction of every infrastructure which a society needs to keep on functioning.

jens

Well I’m waiting when the Russians will finally reach Zakarpathya and root out the Ukrainian bastards and liberate that region. That nation is deeply amoral, brutal and stupid. No place for them in the Transcarpathians no matter how hard EU and NATO tries to make it the opposite way.
