Video Footage Of First Orion UAV Delivered To The Russian Armed Forces

On October 23rd, the first Orion UAV that was delivered to the Russian Armed Forces was showcased in a video.

This and much more were described and shown in the program “Smotr” of the Russian NTV channel, which clearly demonstrates the capabilities of the drone.

In particular, the UAV’s arsenal now has inexpensive small-sized weapons developed on the basis of standard warheads of the Grad MLRS.

These are guided aerial bombs weighing 20 and 50 kilograms with a folding wing, which allows them to glide exactly to the target.

The arsenal also includes KAB-20 corrected aerial bombs and small-sized missiles.

Orion is equipped with three suspension points – two under the wing consoles and one under the fuselage.

The maximum weight of the payload is 200 kilograms.

It is noteworthy that initially the UAV was created as a reconnaissance aircraft, but now its capabilities have been significantly expanded.

Earlier it was reported that the drone can be in the air for a day, moving at an average speed of 200 kilometers per hour. However, due to the aerodynamic qualities close to the airframe, under certain conditions the flight time may turn out to be even longer.

The UAV control center includes the commander’s position, drone control operator stations and payload control operator stations.

Everything was initially designed so that there was no need to use professional pilots.

Takeoff and landing are also carried out automatically, the operators make sure that there is no emergency, and, if necessary, can stop takeoff or give the command to go around on landing.

It is noteworthy that the landing system has three levels.

The first is satellite navigation, the so-called “peaceful” method. But in wartime, satellites can be disabled, disabled, or drowned out.

In this case, there is a second system – radar. For Orion, a special two-band landing radar has been developed, which has already been repeatedly used in practice in extreme conditions – the UAV was tested in Syria.

The third landing system is laser, in case there is a powerful jamming for the locator.

The Russian Ministry of Defense signed an act of acceptance of the first Orion UAV in April 2020.

About Time….
Russia must invest more if it doesnt want to fall more behind of its neighbor China.
They are producing already dozen of Drone modells and 5th generation Jets.
The US is already unreachable. Their 5th Generation Jets flying since nearly 30 years and they have already testing their 6th generation Jets.
Russian Su-57 and stealth Drones, would be good alternative to States, who dont
want to be too much under US influence.
Weapons Sales are the US‘s „Road and Belt“.

Nosferatu

Dont be silly. US only 5th generation aircraft is no longer in production and less than half is now operational, leaving them with less than 100 5th gen planes. F35 has way too many problems and is not even a real 5th gen plane. It has nor range, no speed and no agility. it would be shot down by MIG21 anytime. US is good in drones, but drones are not that much usefull against real enemies such as Russia or China. Drones are mainly good against weak countries. And nope US is not testing sixth gen plane, that is just part of their propaganda. There has not been a first flight of any 6th gen prototype. They did not even finish developing the F35.

Lone Ranger

???

occupybacon

Drones and aircraft carriers are not meant to fight nuclear wars.

Nosferatu

yeah, they are for policing empires and exploiting nations

occupybacon

Only for those empires who master trade and economy… China is catcing up.

In contrast, Russia is the Mongol kind of empire, no much trade to protect, mostly neighbours looting.

Harry Smith

Which neighbor Russia is looting and how?

occupybacon

Not so many currently because Russia is surounded by American bases :)

Harry Smith

Not so many you said? Then how much? 2 or 5? Maybe 3?

occupybacon

Chechnya, Kaliningrad, Karelian, Curiles, Abhazia, Osetia…

mmmmx

Tard, you were asked about Russian neighbors and you are naming Russian regions. Here is some education for you: Russia(excl. Kaliningrad) has land border with 12 neighbors and only one out of 12 has American base (Norway) and only 3 out of 12 are in NATO.

occupybacon

Turd, 5 Russian neighbours are in NATO, from which 2 have US bases. You had one job… Now go back and cry in your corner, usless drunk.

mmmmx

Tard,Kaliningrad is equal to 0.1% of Russian territory, is not connected to the rest of Russia and excluded from calculation. So we have a country with 60 000 km length of border which is “SURROUNDED” by one shitty American base located in another country that has 200km (out of 60 000km) of shared border with it. LOL You baraindead monkey is hillarious. It was enjoyable to piss on your stupid face. Thank you.

occupybacon

If Kaliningrad is excluded from ecuation that means it’s not Russian. Also the Curiles are too small to be part if Russia and Chechnya too. Wtf are doing Moscalistan begars there?

mmmmx

Its excluded from calculation not because its not Russian, but because its location doesnt affect the rest 99.9% of Russian territory. Kaliningrad is the only thing which is indeed largely surrounded.

occupybacon

I don’t think a sane Russian would exclude a small stripe of land as part of his country for any reason. Only if he’s hysterycally trying to win an argument over the internets against someone whos presence can’t let him sleep at night. Because is banging your mom in the next room.

mmmmx

You just said another stupid thing. Lets say we are counting the number of moscovites in Russia. Should we exclude other regions from equation? Of course. Kaliningrad is excluded because its irrelevant to the question how much Russia as a whole is surrounded by American bases.

occupybacon

Since the question is how many NATO countries border Russia, then NATO countries bordering Kaliningrad are part of the answer. And your mom agrees with me every time I slap her: Where is Kaliningrad, bitch, where is Kaliningrad? She screams Russiaaaa, Russiaaa!!

mmmmx

No, stupid, the question was whether Russia is “surrounded” by American bases or not. Another question was how many NATO countries border Russia excl. Kaliningrad. The answer is 3 out of 16. I see logic is not your strong part.

occupybacon

5 NATO countries have borders with Russia. I see you hate losing because that’s the only thing you are capable off. So your questions are only for yourself, go finish your vodka and find all the answers you need on the bottle label.

cechas vodobenikov

pork/bacon is amerikan/ukrop child infected by Salo silotka and marijuana/coke

Harry Smith

And how all these regions are looted by Russia?

NITRAM28

oh ffs not this again dude can you at least try and put effort in your argments/bait.

occupybacon

Not bait at all, every Russian neighbor agrees with me. Why all joined NATO?

NITRAM28

Bruh only 3 nations bordering Russia joined nato…ok 4 if you count poland since kaliningrad and shit but still thats far from all…are you trying to look stupid or smth?

occupybacon

So you started losing it, Ivan? Ok, let’s make it 5 if Kaliningrad is Russia(not for long) but ok since Americans are bad at Geography.

NITRAM28

Ivan? m8 you missed my country by about almost 3500km
also it wont be 5 its 4 are you actually unable to count too?

occupybacon

If you are as good at lenght units as good you are at arythmetics and geography, your bed is floating in the icean right now. Ok, what’s your NATO countries?

NITRAM28

m8 its a straight shot form spain to Russia its about 3500km…well actually its more like a 3440km form madrid to moscow ya fucking dumbass.
Also yes i indeed forgot that norway shares a little 100 or so km border with Russia.

NITRAM28

P.S thats the nation i am in rn not wheir i am from tho ;)

FlorianGeyer

The US F35 is designed to do what it is meant to to, and that is to syphon off billions of dollars from US taxpayers and also the NATO and Arab arselickers. :)

John Brown

The F35 is a lemon and would have trouble fighting planes from the 1960s. Its purpose was to make its manufactures rich and it accomplished that mission perfectly

Lone Ranger

U.S. only has one 5th gen jet that was designed in the 80s.
The Flop-35 is only a 4.5gen jet since it lack supercruise, supermaneuverability, and long range BVR missiles.

Lone Ranger

Most of the Chinese tech is Russian or based on Russian designes.
Its enough to look at their subs, they are Delta III class copies.
China is 20 years behind Russia in military tech.

Garga

Well done.
Russia is relatively a newcomer as long as UAVs are concerned, but I’m sure they quickly catch up and even surpass some of the leading countries in this field.
Almost all of the aviation and aerodynamics knowledge, material, comms and electronics are already there, just in some cases need to be miniaturized. The only parts which I think they need to focus and currently lack, is a range of small aircraft piston engines (they already have small jet engines suitable for larger UAVs) and a good, reliable overall controlling software.
Even the country had experience with overall software from 40 years ago, where the first and only Buran flight all the way to landing was done full automatically/remotely.

Lone Ranger

Not really.
They are new to long duration heavy drones.
But Russia was the first to employ supersonic drones already in the 60s.

Garga

Are you talking about Yastreb?
Well, Americans also had D-21, with somehow better capabilities than Yastreb. But none of those were practical, too expensive, only able to fly on a pre-defined path and not reusable, releasing the camera/film canisters in air and then self destruct (Soviets did some work for a landing version, but it never went into production). The reason we don’t see any trace of them in modern drones.
The UAV today is very different with those days. Our Karrar UAV is actually based on an old American target drone, but the fuselage shape is the only similarity between the two.

Lone Ranger

The D21 was a failure it only had 4 missions with 38 built in total.
Meanwhile Russia had the Tu-123, Tu-141, Tu-142 and the Tu-143, the Tu-143 being the successful.
It was maneuverable with telemetry same as a drone today.

Lone Ranger

Looking good.
Good job Comrades ?.
CIA trolls and hasbarats will cry and rage.
Ukropnazis too…

occupybacon

“…Russian NTV channel, which clearly demonstrates the capabilities of the drone.”

I’d chose the word “describes” over “demonstrates”.

johnny rotten

There is only one drone that’s matter: Burevestnik / KY30 / SSC-X-9 Skyfall, all the others are toys for conflicts between powers of a lower degree, or for guerrilla/counter guerrilla warfare.

Black Waters

Important question, are all the parts from this dron made in russia?

rightiswrong rightiswrong

Import substitution would say yes, couldn’t see Boeing selling to Russia, nor Russia dependent on vital tech materials from vassals states of the Empire, lol.

Black Waters

True, just wouldn’t make sense knowing how insane the U.S and his pets went. That’s the cool thing about Russia, they have a lot of natural resources to work with. Russia shouldn’t be dependant on anybody.

Peter Jennings

These drones will continue to get larger and carry heavier weapons to the point where pilots will no longer be needed for airstrikes.

Boeing remote controlled their test planes in the desert decades ago, crashing some for safety tests, so with modern satellite and communication systems it won’t be too long before we see drones the size of Jumbos, or the refitting of existing planes.

FlorianGeyer

” it won’t be too long before we see drones the size of Jumbos”

Like the jumbo passenger carrying drones on 9/11?

HitlerWasRight

putin probably bought this from his jew and turk masters, putin is a weak bitch who will be overthrown if he does not find his balls

Hatersgonnahate

its not good enough

FlorianGeyer

Nor are you ‘good enough’ as a neo-liberal troll.

Goodbye.

Hatersgonnahate

Bye muck

J Ramirez

It’s good enough to take you out ;}

NITRAM28

why is it nog good enough?

swedish_viking

This is one area where Russia lagged behind so good for Russia that it catches up in drone development.
It’s an interesting drone and let’s see if they use it in Syria.
I don’t understand why SF that presents news in English chose to use the Russian youtube video from Kronstadt instead of the one in english.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEHXdogxgwM

Harry Smith

They used it in Syria. 2 of them were equipped with Russian engines APD-110/120

Black Waters

Because it was the source, also you are a swedish cuck, cheers.

Porc Halal

I’m hearing the ‘beast’ screaming from here :
– I’m coming for you and I’m going to hurt you…big time

So whatch out turks!…

cechas vodobenikov

Iran produces better drones than USA, except their zombie population and incompetent f35
