US Responds To Alleged Riyadh-Moscow S-400 Systems Deal, Approves THAAD Systems Sale To Saudi Arabia

The US Department of State has approved the possible $15 billion sale of THAAD anti-missile defense systems to Saudi Arabia, the Pentagon announced on Friday.

“The Government of Saudi Arabia has requested a possible sale of forty-four (44) Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) launchers, three hundred sixty (360) THAAD Interceptor Missiles, sixteen (16) THAAD Fire Control and Communications Mobile Tactical Station Group, seven (7) AN/TPY-2 THAAD radars.  Also included are THAAD Battery maintenance equipment, forty-three (43) prime movers (trucks), generators, electrical power units, trailers, communications equipment, tools, test and maintenance equipment, repair and return, system integration and checkout, spare/repair parts, publications and technical documentation, personnel training and training equipment, U.S. Government and contractor technical and logistics personnel support services, facilities construction, studies, and other related elements of logistics and program support.  The estimated cost is $15 billion.

This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a friendly country.  This sale furthers U.S. national security and foreign policy interests, and supports the long-term security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region in the face of Iranian and other regional threats.  This potential sale will substantially increase Saudi Arabia’s capability to defend itself against the growing ballistic missile threat in the region.  THAAD’s exo-atmospheric, hit-to-kill capability will add an upper-tier to Saudi Arabia’s layered missile defense architecture and will support modernization of the Royal Saudi Air Defense Force (RSADF).  Saudi Arabia will have no difficulty absorbing this equipment into its armed forces.

The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region.

The principal contractors for the THAAD system are Lockheed Martin Space Systems Corporation, Dallas, TX, Camden, AR, Troy, AL and Huntsville, AL; and Raytheon Corporation, Andover, MA., ” the Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation agency said in a statement.

The announcement followed the October 5 reports that Russia and Saudi Arabia reached an agreement over S-400 air defense systems sail to Riyadh. The sides signed a memorandum the context of contracts to procure the S-400, the Kornet-EM system, the TOS-1A, the AGS-30 and the Kalashnikov AK-103.

The S-400 is an advanced Russian long-range anti-aircraft missile system designed to destroy various air targets including ballistic and cruise missiles.

Installing THAAD in Saudi Arabia can be a pretext to the planned US attack on Iran, to counter Iran’s retaliation against US bases, and to contain both Iran and Russia some more.
Just like installing THAAD in South Korea which has nothing to do with North Korean “threat” but has everything with containing China and Russia.

Saudis probably will pay for it, if they want to remain the monarchs of Arabia.

    • BL

No one is afraid of THAAD, US/Israeli anti-air systems are a jokes.

    • Solomon Krupacek

But Jesus wrote hee, thaad is nothing. So, if you believe in jesus, you need not to be nervous. :)

    • AMHants

What they forget, is Iran does not want nukes, owing to the concerns of their spiritual leader. However, wasn’t it an Iranian that came up with Magrav, and look how far they have progressed with that technology? Saudi can have all the Thaads they want, but, I bet Iran can easily neutralise each and every system/missile.

      • Pavel Pavlovich

Owing to the pressure from outside and inside, more like.
To have nuclear weapons in this day and age is the most
sane thing for any nation. Sad to say…

        • AMHants

They have got better weapons than nukes. What happens if you neutralise a missile and send it back to sender?

          • Pavel Pavlovich

There IS no better weapons than nukes on a strategic deterrance level.
This is why DPRK is still alive and barking.

          • AMHants

Deterrent and so true. However, if they are used and you can neutralise the missile, that is coming your way, then isn’t that a greater weapon for defence and not deterrent?

      • Gary Sellars

Iran has a fatwa against nukes, saying they are “offensive to doG”. That is far more binding on the Iranian government than even the JCPOA as violating their own fatwa will severely damage the credibility of the government and would be a propaganda bonanza for Irans enemies (ie the goat fuckers of Wahabbi Arabia).

        • AMHants

Thanks Gary. I am just reading ‘Gladio, NATO Dagger At The Heart Of Europe, Pentagon Nazi Mafia’bu Richard Cottrell. What is interesting, besides all the various operations, under the umbrella of Gladio, is the fact they keep running the same script over and over again. There is always a bogeyman, with no valid reason, apart from greed, envy, lust, pride, wrath, gluttony and sloth, but, always the same old characters and never with the courage to be open about it all.

    • Astar Roth

No man, they have no balls to do so, Yemen bust theirs poochie with WWII weaponry.

  • John

I have to see how this all plays out. It is a little bit too fast moving for me between the competing systems. With either system, it almost seems like selling track ready race cars, to kids who don´t even drive yet. Who knows.

  • tjfxh

Correction: “Sail” in the title should be “sale.”

  • Simon Abruzzo

good, let them buy this garbage instead

    • BL

Seriously, has there ever been a single verifiable interception by a US made anti-air system?

      • Solomon Krupacek

        several times

        • Daniel Castro

Yes, but they place transponders on their targets, it’s ridiculous to say the least…

I think these anti IBM missile systems are really intended for using with nuclear heads of their own, that’s the only way they are going to be effective.

          • Solomon Krupacek

optimalized against middle and long range ballistic missiles. really against iranian new rockets.

          • AMHants

Iran have no desire for balistics, owing to their spiritual leader. Weird how they never complain about the amount of nukes that Israel have?

          • RTA (Bob or Al)

If you notice and it may have been PP that told me this, one of the main goals of trolls is to divert attention and ruin the thread – as this Sodoman Kripcake always does.

I used to have him blocked but somehow that facility has disappeared now.

            Have a nice weekend.

          • AMHants

I only discovered the blocking tool a couple of weeks ago. Go into their profile and where you see the line of 3 dots, open it and hey presto, to see or not to see.

Wise words from PP, but, I always go and feed the blasted trolls. Mainly to drop a load of links, for others to view, if they wish.

          • kanen

You are so biased and in support of rogue states

          • AMHants

No, not at all. Completely neutral, but, do not believe what the MSM have to say and do not follow the sheep, without independently checking out both sides of the argument. Also, do not believe it is fair on the tax payer, to have to fork up, what our political muppets, that are so easy to coerce or blackmail come up with.

Please tell me what their spiritual leader says about nuclear weapons?

Please tell me how many nations in the ME have nuclear weapons and if so, who authorised the programme?

          • John Whitehot

Thaad is impotent against cruise missiles.
Actually it’s rather disappointing against newer ballistic missiles like Tochkas or Iskanders and its useless against upcoming hypersonic re-entry vehicles.

      • Solomon Krupacek

        more times than s-400 :P

        • gustavo

          propaganda, non evidences.

          • Solomon Krupacek

s-400 was neverin combat. also now putin has tremor, if he think to use, because he has fear, that ends with fiasco, like the former generations.

          • Daniel Castro

THAAD wasn’t tested in combat too, like I said, all their tests were using a transponder on the target on ideal conditions, both countries won’t use these systems unless it is absolutely needed.

DPRK just shot 2 missiles over japan on the same trajectory, none were shot down. Military aren’t stupid to show their cards to the enemy for nothing.

But look how ISrael had to shoot down syrian s-125 missiles to save their airplanes, they wouldn’t do that if they weren’t sure those missiles would down their planes.

          • Solomon Krupacek

            was, in israel

            americans tested.

          • Daniel Castro

Against which target? Iran haven’t launched a balistic missile against ISrael as far as I know, Syria too, this is pure propaganda.

          • John Whitehot

“But look how ISrael had to shoot down syrian s-125 missiles to save their airplanes, they wouldn’t do that if they weren’t sure those missiles would down their planes”

that was a stunt for the medias to cover up for a heavy failure of the IDF planes inside Syria. Shooting SAMS to down others SAMS is rather foolish, when you vaunt having the “best ECM”, “knowing the enemy IFF” and all the possible propaganda bs.

      • kanen

        Ignorance

    • Solomon Krupacek

Sorry, but THAAD is 2 classs above s-400.

(of courese fill come the fanatic jesus, the commie FG, and maybe some others with childish argues)

      • AMHants

LOL, generations behind it, don’t you mean. Which was the $40 billion system, that took well over a decade to get through various trials and exercises and is now obsolete, before it makes it into active service?

        • Solomon Krupacek

yes, the old s-400 is generations behind thaad

          • AMHants

Which is why the world and his dog is after it.

          • Solomon Krupacek

            more after thaad

          • AMHants

Just NATO nations, that have to purchase US expensive junk that is proven not to work.

          • Solomon Krupacek

good things are expensive. like the best russian tanks t-34 vs german tanks. 8:1 the losses. that is russian way. what do you think, why has the russian army so few choppers? bacause this is very precise technique and ussr/russia was never able to produce in high numbers. the same situation the modern suchoys, armata tanks will be the next. until today russia is decade behind america in uavs.and the future for russia is dark. china has own electronic industy, processor, russia has nothing. must imort everything, what is high tech. the akulas became good submarines first after smuggling of western microprocessors in 80ties.

          • AMHants

Hahahaha, how you make me laugh.

It costs the most powerful military in the world $65 billion, to make things that work and are cost effective.

The largest and most expensive military in the world, costs $650 billion, going up to just under $700 billion. Yet, what exactly works? As the world laughs at so many defective weapons and systems. So many problems?

          • Solomon Krupacek

russia is far not the most powerful country. and 65 billion ollars is less the saudi budget. this 65 billion causes, russia can produce 30 fighters instead of 300. the russian pilots fly 10x less than the yanks. russia is not able to buy reeally good anount of armatas. this 65 billion causes 3-5-10-15 xears delay in the development of new weapons. 20 years after maricans russia still does not have stealth planes in service. mabe in 2-3 years .. with old, shitty engines. so, these can throw away. i dont wish confrontation of amrican and russian weapons. but until today the soviet/russian weapons were shit against americans. it is enough to see the ME wars. all generations of sovietweapons were destroyed within 6h-3 days.

          • AMHants

Russia seriously does have the most powerful military in the world, whether you agree or not and that is fact. What makes it powerful, is the fact that it is in full working order and nothing can match it.

The total they spend on bases leases on technologies salaries and equipment maintenance eats up about 645 billion this next budget. Leaves 55 billion for the military to spend.

“the akulas became good submarines first after smuggling of western microprocessors in 80ties”

Actually the feat you’re talking about was Toshiba selling a milling machine to Soviets that had more axis than those made internally. That made possible for the Soviets to design and produce a propeller that made the Akula class quieter and faster.

That said, Soviet subs since the Lira class were one generation ahead of US ones. US and west in general could only dream about producing sub hulls made of titanium; the titanium casting and welding methods developed by Soviet industry remain unachieavable today by western countries.

          • John Whitehot

            you is even more generations.

      • Rodger

They will build the s-400’s themselves so they know they are the ones that have final say over them when they try to shoot them. With THAAD…..not so much.

      • John Whitehot

What ‘s THAAD range ?? Compare it to S-300 ?? Are you insance ? (Why didnt Greece get one?)
What THAAD range =125 miles (200 km), and can reach an altitude of 93 miles (150 km).
        S-200 Range = Range‎: ‎128 km Frequency‎: ‎C-band
        Associated weapon system‎: ‎SA-3/5

Please in your troll life, dont ever compare that junk to S-400.. Just remember the last junk that was sold, patriot missile.. Learn from that useless one ok.

        • Solomon Krupacek

range is not all. the effectivity is important.

      • Daniel Castro

It doesn’t matter, what matters is now we have competition back.

        Sayonara unipolar world order!

      • John Whitehot

One thing’s for sure, countries that will have to defend against F-22 and 35 decide to buy S-300 and 400.

      • Naija Lolade

How can you compare that inferior item (THAAD) to highly valued S-400? The Saudis know they are just being used as pawns and the west would disown them when they re finally pushed to comit suicide with Iran..

U.S transfered THAAD to South korea and could not even approve sales of THAAD to Saudi ? What does that tell the saudis ?? Funny how U.S is feeling the gig.. The real gig is, U.S is no longer in full control of its puppets and cos they sure know where to get a better weapon, less expensive and more superior fire-arms… Funny how U.S is lossing everything and it’s feeling the presure already.

According to the Russian deal, Russia will transfer the know how to Saudi.. That is the dream of any country..

U.S is now acting like a jelous guy with tiny dck head, as the saudis gone for the other guys with bigger dck (Better weapon) arround..

        • Solomon Krupacek

thaad is superior. much more advanced technology. today russia is not able to make something similar. you are sipmly childish.

          • Naija Lolade

I dont usually reply trolls cos they have no common sense, mere computer program, a low life…. You see it there.. Superior and Saudi is going for Russian made, Turkey too ?? You must be living in a different world. a fake world.. Wake up from your slumber you this ugly toilet paid troll..

          • Solomon Krupacek

shittie, saudis buy some russian and huge amount of american missiles. you fucking idiot bastard, you dont nknow tha basic caculations :DDDDDDDDDDDDD

Saudi has not bought anything. “US approved a request for POSSIBLE sale of….”.

thaad i saw. s-400 is like yeti. everybody knows, he exists, but nobody saw it :DDD

          • Naija Lolade

The fear of S-400 is the begining of common sense in Syria.. So far in Syria, Panstir S has got to do the major work. Leaving S-400 to reserve its power against surprise attack…… Has Thaad managed to shoot down anything in its entire life ??

S-400 videos everywhere intercepting anything the size of a football flying….
In Syria, Panstir s ‘demon’ which i even love more than S-400… Is enough to defeat your low THAAD.. Can THAAd shoot down scud missiles ?? I doubt it. I bet it cant even shoot down hamas rockets no wonder U.S.A is scared to sharply sell it to the saudis.. The houthis will disgrace the U.S junks too soon..

Meanwhile, Russia is always one step ahead of the game. Not because it built junks like the U.S to sell to its puppest but because Russia does everything with sense. Common sense.. You retarded born by mistake son of a hell hole. Your entire generaton will wrought in nuclear winter. Mad f00l..

          • Tommy Jensen

            Someone got butthurt.

          • Jens Holm

At rockets they are. If You see the sales, You can see the russian are going up. A minimum would say people get more for their money.

          • Tudor Miron

Yeah, like those space rocket engines that Russians buys from USA…Oh wait… it’s the other way around :)

  • MeMadMax

lol… the king of saudis sure does know how to waste money….
Not only with overly lavish state trips, but with military spending too because:
    The saudis can’t fight…

    ^.^

    • Tommy Jensen

They have not wasted anything yet…..”potential sale”!

that was first. They are acting like a teenage couple in relationship where one got jealous and had to do more to regain his girlfriend

  • Rodger

“This proposed sale” is the essential magic. I think this ship has already sailed. The Russians will go a lot further in their sale of the S-400’s namely giving Saudi Arabia the means to produce them themselves. The Saudis don’t need this sale anymore. (And I doubt the US can convince them there isn’t an off-switch that the US won’t mention.)

  • Ivanus59

Yaaaaaay, lets all race to see who can arm the psychotic jihadist savage regime more :D First side to sell them a nuclear weapon wins!

“That there are men in all countries who get their living by war, and by keeping up the quarrels of nations, is as shocking as it is true; but when those who are concerned in the government of a country, make it their study to sow discord, and cultivate prejudices between nations, it becomes the more unpardonable.” — Thomas Paine, “The Rights of Man”, circa 1792

  • Jesus

S400 is a highly capable over the horizon air defense system with limited anti ballistic defense capabilities; a battalion of S400 hundred consisting of 8 launching vehicles ( 32 launchers) and 112 missiles cost 400 million dollars.

THAAD is exclusively an anti ballistic system, employing smaller rockets that do not have explosive warheads, has lesser range and relies on kinetic energy to score a kill.

THAAD is meaningless against Sarmat MIRVS, or any array of hypersonic glide missiles.

For 15 billion US is selling 44 launchers and 360 missiles. The question the begs to be answered is how many ballistic missiles do the Iranians have.

For 15 billion, the Saudis can buy approx. over 200 Russian S400 launching vehicles with over 2000 missiles.

    • Solomon Krupacek

sure jesus, thaad has no explosive warhead. therefoe MUST EXACTLY hit the target. the russian old rocket does not need.

which type is more exact, more developed, ha?!

s-400 is nothing in comaparison to thaad. russian in 2049 maybe will be able to produce such precise rockets.

and this is the reason, why will not buy 2000 russian missiles :P

p.s. why hev russian warships red board?

      • Daniel Castro

Don’t know man, s-300 already scored direct on its targets a long time ago, it is famous for that and highly respected even by NATO. Remember the U2 incident back in the soviet union, russians have a long tradition with anti-missiles.

The thing is s-400 and THAAD can’t be compared as they are for different purposes, if you want to compare something to THAAD it should be s-500.

And like I said before, they use transponders on THAAD targets when texting it, this is cheating.

        • John Whitehot

          it’s a waste of time.

THAAD is Infrared guided. S-400 has several radar modes, tracking and guidances types. That speaks volumes for anybody knowing more than Krupacek in missile technology, and it takes really little.

        • Tudor Miron

You should not compare THAAD with S-500, those are very different.

      • John Whitehot

        ignorant as usual.

THAAD employs “hittiles” because after the experiences in Desert Storm they discovered that to effectively knock off ballistic warheads they needed to hit them directly, with the kinetic energy of the ABM – Patriot missiles weren’t enough to destroy incoming SCUDs.

As in regards to your presumption that “direct hit” is more advanced than proximity shot, its a utter idiocy. SAMs are optimized to destroy aerial targets in the most efficient way, the shape of the fragments is formed according to several criterials and flight parameters.

Hittiles couldn’ t be good enough to down planes – proximity fuses do much better.

S-400 has been termed the most capable Surface to Air system of the world, and that include US dep of defence.

        • Solomon Krupacek

yes direct hit is more advanced technology. russia is not able to produce such advances missile.

the export version of s-400 is sure not the most advanced, you ugly liar :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

          • Daniel Castro

If I understand correctly it is not that s-400 can’t perform direct hits, it can, and i mostly hits directly, the explosive charge is like a reassurance in the case the target dodges somehow, it gives another chance of hitting it, but for THAAD won’t make sense because a high mass ballistic object will continue on its track if it is hit by fragments.

This means THAAD will perform very poorly against target that can dodge the missile… BUT, as I also said in another post, something is missing, I would say in a real nuclear standoff these systems will be armed with nuclear warheads to fry the incoming missiles in outer space.

          • Solomon Krupacek

if you hit with stone something at hypersonic velocity, that thing will be totally destroyed. be sure, the yanks are not stupidos :)

          • John Whitehot

if you hit a plane wing with a stone at hypersonic velocity it will blow a hole in it and the plane will happily keep flying and possibly even drop a bomb or two on your hypersonic sling just to be sure.

          • John Whitehot

dude, SAMs work by positioning themselves at the point where the warhead does the most damage. That point is calculated on the grounds of all the engagement parameters of a given situation.

          • gustavo

Let me tell you about the very low technology that Russia has. What Daniel Carlos has just said is the following. Russia missile follows the U2 plane just below it, and then exploded, stiring the winds of the U2. The pilot had not chance to do anything, and the russian cached the pilot and the entire U2 plane. Why did russians do this ? because the wanted to have both complete. Another example, do you know why USA pilot called Hanoi the death zone ? because it was almost sure that if the enter this zone SAM missiles will bring them down (independently of the kind of plane, even B12). We are talking about Russia technology of the 60-70. Do you know why of the 56 missiles lunched by USA to destroy Syria airbase only 23 reach this field, and even if the reached the were not capable to hit its target (only few of them did) ? because Russia used electronic to make these missiles crazy. HAve you notice that non of the Russia missiles has lost its target and their accuracy is just amazed ? I can give you much more examples but that are enough. So, better to have a S300, S400, or S500 than anything that may looks like from USA.

          • Solomon Krupacek

gustavo, u2??? why not the 17th century?
do you know what came after u2? bleckbird. russia until today has no weapon to shoot it down. this is the rotten technology ;)

          • Daniel Castro

That U2 was flying on soviet airspace, it wouldn’t be there if muricans thought it would be hit, they underestimated russian military technology just like you’re doing now.

The Foxbat was the soviet answer to Blackbird, it flew faster, is was cheaper and had weapons.

Blackbird, extremely expensive and it doesn’t fly anymore, there are still foxbats flying to this day… Yes, of course flying at that very high speed would damage their engines, but if it was for downing a Blackbird or executing a high risk mission like flying over ISrael it was worth it.

Back then the west also had no SAM battery capable of reaching these planes.

          • Solomon Krupacek

            long forgotten history.

if russians catch the sr-71, then you can tell, the russian pulled up to yanks.
            in one segment.

          • Daniel Castro

Even you can catch the sr-71 as it is just a pile of garbage sitting to rust.

And the fastest plane on service is still the MIG31, when muricans make a plane to catch the russians you tell me.

          • Solomon Krupacek

dream. the soviets never were able to take down. mig 31 is too slow. if the missiles are too slow, then the migs absolutely slow.

          • Daniel Castro

As soon as the Foxbat was flying USA kept their SR-71 far away from them, they would fly only on international airspace and as soon as russia scrambled their Foxbats on that direction the Blackbird would make fly back to safety.

” On 6 November 1971, a Soviet MiG-25 operating out of Egypt flying at Mach 2.5 was met by Israeli F-4Es and fired upon unsuccessfully.[34] A MiG-25 was tracked flying over Sinai at Mach 3.2 during this period. The MiG-25 engines went into overspeed, which led to them being scrapped.[10] Det 63 was sent back home in 1972. Soviet-operated reconnaissance Foxbats returned to Egypt in 19–20 October 1973, during the Yom Kippur War.[34] Det 154 remained in Egypt until late 1974.

During the 1970s, the Soviet air force conducted reconnaissance overflights across Iran using its MiG-25RBSh aircraft in response to joint US-Iran recon operations.[35]

The Swedish Air Force observed Soviet Air Defence MiG-25s via radar regularly performing intercepts at 63,000 ft and 2.9 km behind the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird at 72,000 ft over the Baltic Sea in the 1980s.[36]”

            -Wikipedia

Enough said… this isn’t even MIG 31, it is his previous iteration, I’m quite sure russians don’t even disclose real MIG31 speed limits.

          • John Whitehot

the soviet Mig31s intercepted blackbirds countless times with only a shootdown not happening as the yank crews hastily turned back toward safe airspaces.

Again, Yefim Gordon’s books on MiG-25, Mig-31 and “guardians of the soviet skies” narrate several such missions in detail.

“slow”? you don’t even know what you’re talking about.

          • Tudor Miron

Is this some kind of mazohism? Do you like when people think that you’re absolute dumb? Is this a reason for you posting obvious nonsence?

          • John Mason

Wrong. Mig31 will bring it down. Do some research or talk to those that are qualified. That way you will avoid embarrassing yourself any further.

          • Solomon Krupacek

never. simply the russian missiles are too slow

          • RTA (Bob or Al)

Russia will not need missiles in any shape, size or colour when the US brings the F-35s in, all they will need is a hose pipe.

          • Jens Holm

Im not sure, but it probatly will help.

          • RTA (Bob or Al)

Whilst I totally agree with your logic, I think you will find it was 59 missiles.

          • Gary Sellars

You’re a fucking idiot…. seriously, seek some help.

          • Jens Holm

            Thats right.

          • Nightcrawler136
      • Jens Holm

Most people are not able to compare and think like that. Its doesnt help Damaskus if they can fire 4 S400 at the same time, if Israel send in 5 and the last one have one of their pocket nukes.

    • Tommy Jensen

You forget when you buy weapons from USA you are also supporting freedom. If you want to be free you must pay the price for freedom.

  • Ivanus59

… I assume that the American standard AA is useless vs American jets while the Russian AA system is useless vs Russian jets? so a side that has both of those is safe against all sides?

    • George King

Yea, its called paranoid, “Be afraid , very afraid”………… However if you have some coins to throw my way you will sleep better, NOT!

    • Thegr8rambino

i doubt american AA would be useful against russian jets either

    • Jens Holm

According to the russian fanatics here the american jets and rockets only move fast, when they are transported ny truck or carrried. It doesnt matter if it AA or BB.

  • adzsiam

I believe the KSA is playing both sides, like a Harley biker looking at two tyre suppliers, for the best deal. But this biker will still contract another biker to ride his bike for him. He’ll still ride the time tested camel.

    • Solomon Krupacek

as russia. sells to irand an saudi/turkey

    • Thegr8rambino

it seems like the better/more advanced the weapon, the less saudis know how to use it lol

  • Vitex

Giving weapons to the Saudis is pretty much a waste of money. They’ll still get beaten by a bunch of Yemeni boy soldiers in sandals.

    • Thegr8rambino

haha yea, i bet u could give saudis weapons from star wars and they still wont know how to use them properly, but good for the rest of us, that they are so dumb, because of what a fucked up people they are haha

  • Aussie Andrew

Saudis want the radar systems; they know the missiles are useless against most missiles.
They will use the radar systems in conjunction with the S400 to strike missiles or aircraft.

  • Brother Ma

“Policy interests, and supports the long-term security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region in the face of Iranian and other regional threats. ”
Gulf region? Gulf of mexico? What is with yankistanis and their lack of geographical skill? As russians say ,hard to deal with a people who mistake austria with australia.

    • Daniel Castro

I think they mean the Persian Gulf…

      • Brother Ma

Yes i know. It just bothers me they leave the persian off the name. Very subtle handling so that people dont associate that part of world with persia.

        • Solomon Krupacek

in your anguage is persian, in english the gulf. gulf states, gulf oil …

          • Brother Ma

Wrong.in english language was known always as persian gulf.this has changed only recently maybe in last ten years or so.

          • Solomon Krupacek

in political and economical field not.

          • Jens Holm

No, it hasnt. I was in Dubai as well as Sharjah 40 years ago and it was like that too.

Something with Persia hardly was cats and carpets. But the tax was free. 1%.

          • Jens Holm

Yes, brits took some islands at the arabic side.

        • Jens Holm

Worse – arabs in sects :)

      • Jens Holm

arabian C, as they don say in iran. Those people execute people for less. Be aware, they also have Hormon straight.

    • Solomon Krupacek

so, THE GULF is the persian gulf.

      • Jens Holm

        Try that in UAE

  • outer_rl

When Emperor Erdogan is ready, he’ll make a deal with Iran, Iraq and Jordan, and send a column of tanks into Saudi Arabia. There will be little fighting, each city will surrender one by one as the tanks arrive, and the Saudi family will be deposed and exiled. Advanced American or Russian weapon systems will be no use to them. Saudi Arabia’s pampered citizens and foreign mercenaries alike have no appetite to die for their country.

    • Thegr8rambino

all those countries should send tanks into SA that would be amazing

  • Don’t read butthurt replies

I believe the Saudis are scared/trying to protect themselves of the Iranian made missiles used by Houthis, hence the reason they bought S-400, no? Either way, keep going strong Houthis!

  • goingbrokes

Saudis are shaking in their boots (or sandals or whatever). When they decided to back the insurgencies it was full of confidence that it was going to be over by Xmas! They did not realise that Syria would fight back and win! And after they finish the clean up at home they will look south and see Saudi Arabia, the wahhabi crazies who came and destroyed their country.

  • as

THAAD isn’t being sold. It’s only being deployed overseas. Just like South Korean said there’s no point in buying something that’s effectively controlled by someone else.
