On October 14, the US-backed Sham Legion (or Faylaq al-Sham) militant group released a statement, claiming that the group had been able to conduct attacks against the Syrian army and its allies in the province of Hama.
The attacks allegedly resulted in killing of some Iranian military advisers and 6 Russian military servicemen, including a general.
The Russian Defense Ministry has rejected reports about the casualties among the Russian military personnel in the province.
The Sham Legion is an alliance of Islamist rebel groups that is active in the province of Homs, Hama and Idlib. The Sham Legion is a part of another militant alliance – Jaish al-Fatah (Army of Conquest) and coordinates military operations with Jabhat Fatah al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra or al-Nusra Front). Another fact, which has been ignored in the mainstream media, is that Jabhat Fatahl al-Sham is the leading force of Jaish al-Fatah.
The United States and its allies provide massive to the Jaish al-Fatah operation room, claiming that it is the ‘moderate opposition’ that seeks to establish democracy and peace in Syria.
