US-backed Forces Repel Large ISIS Attack In Euphrates Valley

Illustrative

On October 12, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that their fighters repelled a large-scale ISIS attack on their positions around the towns of al-Baghuz al-Fawqani, Hajin and al-Bahrah in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside.

“Our forces repelled all terrorists’ attacks, killing and injuring dozens of them, while the others fled,” the SDF said in a press release.

US-led coalition warplanes backed the SDF and conducted 8 airstrikes on vehicles and gatherings of the terrorist group. Furthermore, the coalition M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launched 29 heavy rockets at ISIS positions.

According to the SDF media center, US-backed fighters killed 34 terrorists and destroyed three vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) of ISIS during the clashes around the three towns.

The terrorist group launched several counter-attacks in the last few weeks in order to slow down the SDF advance. However, this strategy is draining ISIS, which has lost more than 285 fighters and commanders since the beginning of US-backed forces operation in the Euphrates Valley.

There appear to be conflicting reports. I’ve read that Daesh have recaptured many positions they previously lost to SDF, right up to to the Iraq border?

I have given up on this part of Syria. Like you I am confused; one minute, they are all dead, then 5 million still standard, then and then and then.

As long as ISIS and SDF kill each other, whatever. I dont give a toss until the SAA go in.

      • Ed

Do you think the SAA will ever go in though?

        • Jens Holm

He hopes and dont see so many dont want Assads at all.It doesnt bother 12 mio are not at home and much more then 500.000 are dead as well as fatal destruction has good reeasons only driven by Hafez and son behaving as owners.

        • You can call me Al

Yes, 100% – after an agreement with the SDF to get the hell out and go back home, up in the North.

      • Jens Holm

Thats an oppinion to have as well. Makes sense even I dont agree at all.

    • Jens Holm

I agree. Its not easy. I see the positions as many small strongpoints . Most is no front but fortified small hills and houses.

I see all is mined and trapped in well prepared shooting galleries and also many tunnels to connects parts of the ISIS parts.

Thats my picture. I am patient too, and would like it was over. We do not know at all, whats inside the ISIS zone.

Positions are small – 8-10 soldiers, a machinegun, a sniper and a little more.

This zionist Bullshit will eventually be made into a Hellywood blockbuster, featuring american special forces heros.More swill for the sheeple.

  • Jens Holm

I hope its a deperate move. They can see the end and try to gain terrain. I still am calm about it and hope its a good thong ISIS are in the open i groups.
