Two terrorists of ISIS were killed in a new joint operation by the United States-led coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the eastern Syrian governorate of Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on February 22.
According to the London-based monitoring group, coalition helicopters took part in the operation which targeted a hideout in the town of Jadeed Ekedat in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
“Special forces called on the wanted persons to surrender using loudspeakers, but they refused, which led to a clash between the two parties, and as a result two of the group [ISIS] were killed,” the group’s report reads.
Local sources in Deir Ezzor identified one of the two killed in the operation as Syrian national Fadi Rafi al-Dawood. However, his affiliation with ISIS is yet to be confirmed.
The U.S.-led coalition and the SDF stepped up joint counter-terrorism operations against ISIS cells in northern and eastern Syria in the last few weeks.
On February 16, the coalition and the SDF conducted two operations in the region. The first operation targeted Hamza al-Homsi, a senior leader of ISIS. The terrorist triggered an explosion after being cornered at his hideout in Deir Ezzor, killing himself and wounding four U.S. service members. During the second operation, the leader of one of the terrorist group’s assassination cells in the region was eliminated.
Later on February 18, an ISIS official, who was identified only by his nom de guerre Batar, was captured by coalition troops and SDF fighters during an operation in Deir Ezzor.
The recent operations were likely meant to legitimize the U.S. military presence in Syria, which is supposedly meant to counter ISIS.
Pay no attention to the elephant terrorist in Syria, is the doctrine of the elephant terrorist.
There are two elephants, a zionist kind, and a comminist kind.
All that money. All that manpower. All that equipment. All that electronic surveillance. All that coordination, and they bagged two terrorists?
‘ OK centurion, what did you find?’ ‘I found this spoon sir’.
Either terrorists forces are dwindling or this operation is complete fiction.
