On June 25th, the Turkish Armed Forces reportedly prevented a major bomb attack in north Syria.

According to the Turkish Ministry of Defense, a truck, loaded with explosive had somehow passed through the M-4 Highway and was detected in northeastern Syria, in the area of operation Peace Spring.

Barrels, allegedly filled with diesel can be seen on the photographs, and when Turkish troops caught sight of it, they opened fire, because it began accelerating towards an area which was reportedly filled with civilians.

The troops firing upon it led to it increasing it even further, which was evidence that the vehicle was to be used for a bomb attack.

To stop it, a TOW anti-tank guided missile was used against it and it was destroyed.

Shortly after the vehicle was hit, it exploded with a great explosion, due to the detonation of the bomb inside of it. The explosive was reportedly remote-controlled.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense used the occasion to praise the efforts of the Turkish Armed Forces as the only paragon of peace in northeastern Syria, and a protector of the lives of civilians. It vowed to continue its presence in the region and continue to protect the human rights of all who live there against those it deems terrorists.

Meanwhile, in Northern Iraq, operation Claw-Tiger is still on-going for Turkey, and in the early hours of June 25th, five PKK members were “neutralized.”

Turkey’s operations Claw-Tiger and Claw-Eagle were launched in the week ending on June 21st to ensure the safety of the Turkish people and borders by neutralizing the threat of the PKK and other terrorist groups, who often use northern Iraq to plan cross-border attacks.
