Turkish General Staff: 343 'Terrorists' Killed In Afrin

The Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (TFSA) have “neutralized” at least 343 “terrorists” including members of the YPG, the YPJ, the PKK and even “Daesh” [ISIS] since the start of Operation Olive Branch in Syria’s Afrin, the TAF’s General Staff claimed on January 26. The TAF also destroyed 23 targets, including strong points and ammunition depots, on January 25 night, according to the general staff.

This was not the first time when the TAF claimed that its forces combat some mysterious ISIS terrorists in the Afrin area. The provided numbers of the “neutralized” YPG/YPJ/PKK members are also very questionable.

Kurdish forces have also released the very similar statements. On January 24, the YPG claimed that it had killed 203 members of Turkish forces, including “tens” of the TAF’s servicemembers. Kurdish media outlets also claimed the TAF shells settlements in southern Turkey to blaim the YPG for the civilian casualties.
