A Turkish-backed faction blackmails a family in “Al-Hasaka” countryside to release its kidnapped son.
We obtained information from local sources that a civilian family in the countryside of “Ras al-Ain”, northwest of “Al-Hasakah”, is being blackmailed by leaders of a Turkish-backed faction, who kidnapped one of its sons earlier.
The sources indicated that the Turkish-backed “Badr Martyrs” faction, deployed in the western countryside of “Ras al-Ain”, kidnapped the young man Mahmoud Shawakh al-Salloum from the village of Al-Aziziya in the countryside of Ras al-Ain, and took him to an unknown destination.
The sources added that the charges against Salloum were not known, but the faction refuses to release him, at a time when the faction leaders are communicating with the family of the young man, asking them to pay a ransom of up to 10 million Syrian pounds, in exchange for his release.
The leaders of the “Badr Martyrs” faction loyal to “Ankara”, “Abu al-Qaqa’a”, “Abu al-Farouq” and “Abu Muhammad al-Raqqawi”, impose large financial royalties on civilians by seizing their property, knowing that the faction is notorious for stealing civilians through its checkpoints, and fabricating charges on civilians for the payment of a ransom.
The incident follows the series of violations committed by the pro-Ankara factions in northern Syria, from looting civilian property, imposing royalties on them, kidnapping innocent people for ransom, and other violations documented by international reports, calling on Ankara to limit them, amid disregard on the part of the Turkish side, which continues to support militants in their practices.
