On December 10 afternoon, three blasts rocked the western part of the Afghan capital, Kabul, killing and wounding a number of civilians.

Saeed Khosty, a spokesman for the Taliban’s Interior Ministry, said that the first blast targeted a minibus in Dasht-e-Barchi. Two civilians were killed and three others wounded as a result of the blast.

Khosty said that a woman was injured in the second blast, which also targeted a minibus. The blast took place in Pol-e-Sokhta.

A third explosions was heard later in Masla Mazari. The target was also a minibus. However, no casualties were reported.

ISIS branch in Afghanistan, the Islamic State-Khorasan Province (ISIS-K), claimed responsibility for the three bombings in Kabul, claiming that dozens of Shiite ethnic Hazaras were killed or wounded.

The terrorist group stepped up its attacks in Kabul, especially against the Hazara, following the Taliban takeover in mid-August.

Despite the Taliban’s efforts, ISIS-K continues to expand its operations all over Afghanistan. The group is now the most serious challenge facing the Taliban’s new regime.
