Taliban Central Bank Seized $12,4 Million From Former Top Afghan Officials, Including Ex Vice President

On September 15, the Taliban-run central bank of Afghanistan announced that it had seized nearly $12.4 million in cash and gold from former top government officials, including former vice president Amrullah Saleh.

In an official statement, the central bank said that it is still unclear why the money and gold were kept in officials’ houses.

Earlier this week, a video showing large sum of cash and gold which were allegedly seized by the Taliban from Amrullah Saleh house surfaced online. It was reported that $6.5 million in cash and at least 15 gold bars were found in the house of the former vice president.

Following the fall of Kabul on August 15, Amrullah took refuge in Panjshir where he declared himself the acting president of the country. Soon after, Amrullah joined resistance forces led by Ahmed Massoud Jr. and became one of its top leaders.

In his most recent video, Amrullah cried over the loss of his brother, Roohullah, who was allegedly killed by the Taliban. The video was mocked by Taliban supporters who claimed that the former vice president was crying over the money that was seized by the group.

The current whereabouts of Amrullah remain unknown. According to a number of Afghan sources, he is taking refuge in Tajikistan.

The corruption of the former Afghan officials was blamed by many, including official in Washington, for the collapse of the US-backed regime. Almost no one was taking about this corruption before the withdrawal of US forces.

But that is what the US does over and over again whenever it takes over a country. Finds the richest people and finds who is the most corruptible and puts them in charge by whatever means necessary. The corrupt leaders get paid their bribes and do as the US tells them. If they don’t play ball they get removed one ay or another.

crying over your own incompetence crying and running instead of standing and fighting so what to say about these american lackeys

the taliban are as idiotic incompetent and savage as usual btw so what to say we have to teach them so many things its basically a clueless manchild society which we have to care for now that they dont die of idiocy anyway they should ask themselves if they behave unjust that if they might not see a revolution coming towards which will make them cry the same way as the fools before them so taliban has first of all lose its pashtun supremacist mentality and work with all ethnicities and create an inclusive government therefore to not end up soon the same way because we can be patient and wait and see if they learn or if they stupidly seek to create walls between their people thinking that this would be islamic which it isnt since the idea of walls and seperation between muslim societies is anti islamic one just has to look at turkeys wall or the weird fence of pakistan and compare that to the zionists or the americans and their obsession of building walls around themselves and this is what pashtuns do they create walls be it talebs or the idiots before who fled like incompetent cowards while this vice president figure here is just another symbol of the entire incompetence
