Taliban Attacks NATO Convoy In Afghanistan With SVBIED, Claims 7 NATO Soldiers Killed

A photo from the scene

On Friday, a Taliban suicide bomber driving a VBIED targeted a convoy of NATO forces near the Kandahar airbase in the Trank Pul area of Kandahar province.

Kandahar provincial governor spokesman Fazal Bari Baryalai said that the attack “totally destroyed” a vehicle in the convoy that was carrying Romanian soldiers.

A spokesman for NATO announced that few NATO soldiers were wounded. However, the Taliban news agency Voice of Jihad claimed that at least 7 NATO soldiers were killed in the attack on the convoy.

In another development, Afghan sources said that two bases of the Afghan Army in Abgarmak and Chinaee areas in Ghormach district of Faryab province in northern Afghanistan are under the siege by the Taliban. According to the sources, Afghan soldiers in the two bases have been under siege by the Taliban for two months now.

Afghan Defense Ministry spokesman Dawlat Waziri said that the Afghan army is now working to reopen the route to the bases. Meanwhile, the Afghan Army is air dropping supplies for the besieged soldiers.

“We provide their food, clothes, ammunition and other needs from air. But the basis of addressing the problem is to open the route and we are working on it,” Waziri said.

The Taliban has been expending rapidly in north Afghanistan especially in Faryab province. On Thursday, Voice of Jihad announced that the Taliban captured 5 villages in in Faryab province in a rapid attack.

nato and us, paying the price, for deliberately using afghanistan for their profitable drug trade

Nigel Maund

Deja Vu! The CIA so badly need the money from the opium poppy fields and their corporate masters want the massive and totally undeveloped natural resources in Afghanistan. However, it is now in Russia and China’s interests to make the US and NATO pay a disproportionate price to sustain their deeply flawed strategy. It will be a “death by one thousand cuts” for the US and NATO. Russia and China can pick up the pieces later.

U$Asylum Empire went in big & bombed the Taliban big-time, Oct 2001. Taliban wanted to surrender, & many did. U$Asylum Empire went mad (madder) & refused to accept their surrender: They needed an enemy to justify their invasion & occupation.
Taliban were a reaction to the civil war between rival Mujahideen gangs which had been CIA & MI6 funded, trained & armed since the peanut-brained President Carter decided to draw the USSR into their own Vietnam ~1979. Civil war broke out once USSR withdrew. Taliban stopped this civil war & cut the poppy fields down to near zero. Taliban were hated by most of Afghans: they were vicious religious fundamentalists. Poppy fields are at historically greatest extent. CIA needs black money.
Disgustingly, U$Asylum Empire had had schoolbooks printed, University of Nebraska, praising the life of a Mujahideen.

After a short war, Taliban did surrender, but U$Asylum Empire & its Northern Alliance minority tribal puppet govt behaved so stupidly & viciously that Afghans began to realise Taliban were preferable !!!!!
Exactly as would happen in Iraq. !!!!! Saddam was vicious, but preferable to the Yankers.

Now Taliban hold the country, U$Asylum Empire holds the cities.

Book: No Good Men Among The Living, by Anand Gopal.
He gets the heroin angle, not the mineral wealth or the forward base for injecting Islamic fundamentalism into the Russian Federation Republics.
Mucho recommended.

U$Asylum Empire crumbles.

Taliban = Saudi Wahhabism. The US can send as many troops and tanks to Afghanistan as it wants – it will never outspend Saudi Arabia’s Wahhabist mosques and madrasas in Pakistan manufacturing the Taliban. The largely-Pashtun Taliban are certainly not the only group that has been thoroughly Saudi Wahhabized. Pakistan itself is mostly subservient to the Saudi Wahhabist military and intelligence organizations. Saudi-funded mosques and madrasas have been growing in number in the Kashmir.

Whether ISIS or al Qaeda is also present in Afghanistan/Pakistan is immaterial. The death cult of Saudi Wahhabism is spreading there. Some conveniently confusing label will be chosen to hide the fact that the head-chopper leaders studied and are influenced by Saudi Wahhabism. It will flourish wherever there are poor, disenfranchised Sunni.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The Taliban isn’t funded by the Saudis , their support is mixed sources won’t name them as they are not what you would expect. ISIS/Al Qaeda are the Wahhabi death cults try to keep your formed bias in check, critical thinking is necessary. The cults you refer to are also funded by the Israelis along with the Saudis. There is ISI which has been accused of their funding , but the ones to benefit from that accusation would be closer as one source.

Pave Way IV

What does Taliban mean? Where were they students? Who funded those madrassas? I don’t care who funds the Taliban today – it does not change the fact that they never would have existed in their current form without being Wahhabized first. The Taliban are not the only ones that go to those madrassas and mosques – there is an entire generation of Wahhabized head-choppers being produced. They will end up in some terrorist group somewhere funded by somebody. Stopping that support is only one half of the solution. Recognizing Saudi Wahhabism for what it is and eliminating it is the other half.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The Taliban have been more spiritual but Al Qaeda always fought there since the 80’s. They would fight the local freedom fighters for control of Afghanistan as they didn’t want them in control as they were told by the CIA, which was spawned by the head chopping Al Qaeda being always vicious towards locals.

Taliban = Saudi Wahhabism????
Where are u getting your info from?

If anything, the Taliban is backed by Pakistan at best!
perhaps even Iran!
But to say that they are Saudi Wahhabis is ridiculous!
They are not Wahhabi’s at all!
Do u think the USA fights the Taliban while Saudi arabia funds and supports them?
You’re kidding right??

the Taliban is fighting isis dummy!

Pave Way IV

What does Taliban mean, Justin? Why did the Taliban announce a religious apartheid caliphate when they took control of Afghanistan?

“…But to say that they are Saudi Wahhabis is ridiculous!…”

Hmmm…. mujahideen fled Afghanistan and decided to go to religious schools in Pakistan? You never asked yourself why? These were Saudi-funded madrassas and mosques led by Saudi Wahhabi clerics (or their Deobandi proxies). Why does Saudi Arabia exclusively fund free, all-male religious schools in impoverished regions where nobody could possibly afford a ‘normal’ school?

“…They are not Wahhabi’s at all!…”

Then what are they? What was their caliphate? Did they make up their own head-chopper version of Salafism in Afghanistan? Do all Sunnis form oppressive caliphates when they’re in control?

“…Do u think the USA fights the Taliban while Saudi arabia funds and supports them?…”

The US is dumber than a box of rocks – of course they do (or rather did). The US ‘trusts’ Saudi Arabia – they’ll believe anything they say. The funding doesn’t come directly from the Saudi state anyway, so the US is clueless.

“…the Taliban is fighting isis dummy!…”

Yeah, funny how ISIS and al Qaeda didn’t show up until the Taliban went against Saudi interests. The Taliban were trying to establish relations with Iran because it made sense. That isn’t part of the Wahhabi playbook. Next thing you know, al Qaeda and ISIS show up in Afghanistan. What a coincidence. The Taliban were the Saudi proxies, now they are not. The Saudis just hired someone else to represent their interests in Afghanistan.

Interesting comments u make here. However if u haven’t noticed, the Taliban are switching sides all the time!
One decade they are allied with the US and the next they are allied with Russia!

One thing I do know is that they will ally with whomever they need to so that they have the resources required to fight their adversaries! To assume that the Taliban are allied with the Saudi’s in this day and age does not make any sense at all!
Im certain Russia wouldn’t be helping the Taliban if they were also funded by Saudi Arabia!
Saudi Arbaia’s number 1 enemies are Russia and Iran! Russia for the oil trade and energy markets and Iran also for trade and its threat to the Saudi Monarchy!
So when someone comes along and says “are the Taliban Wahhabi’s” is like saying “are the Kurds wahhabi’s”!
Just because someone is Sunni doesn’t mean they are Wahhabi!
And just because the USA were proxy enemies of the Kurds during Saddam’s reign (because they were Saddam’s enemies) doesn’t mean anything either, not anymore!
All these sides have been enemies at one time or another, even Iran and Russia!

The wahhabi’s are only those who wish to practice the Saudi State backed ideology!
The Taliban are not wahhabi’s they are just sunni’s (just like the Kurds)

Saudi’s are Wahhabi Arabs!
Taliban are not Arabs and they are not Wahhabi’s. They are not even Salafists!

Wahhabi’s believe in a leader to “rule all men” and that is the Saudi monarchy! the Taliban do not follow and are not ruled by the Saudi Monarchy!

The Taliban have no monarchy
They have no oil
they only want to protect from invaders and they will ally with whom ever!
Just like the Kurds ally with America who supported their worst enemy Saddam who used American supplied chemical weapons against them!

And even if they practice sharia law, that doesn’t mean its on equal par to Saudi’s who practice it for the protection of their Monarchy!

Al-Quieda were the Extremists in Afghanistan, they were the ISIS like wahhabi’s! Not the Taliban.

So maybe the Taliban were against the Soviets back in the 80’s and the Saudi’s were funding them and Americans supporting them! This fitted with Saudi goals to fuck up an energy empire!

Now its the other way around! And the Taliban are allied with whom ever will aid them against their enemies!

Has NOTHING to do with Wahhabism! And Wahhabism isn’t qualified because only sunni arabs can be wahhabi’s! But any sunni muslim can be a salafist! And yes there are differences between Wahhabi’s and Salafists!

Here is a reference to this…

“Wahhabism is named after an eighteenth-century preacher and activist, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (1703–1792).[17] He started a reform movement in the remote, sparsely populated region of Najd (Saudi Arabia)”

“Eventually he formed a pact with a local leader, Muhammad bin Saud, offering political obedience and promising that protection and propagation of the Wahhabi movement meant “power and glory” and rule of “lands and men.”

“The alliance between followers of ibn Abd al-Wahhab and Muhammad bin Saud’s successors (the House of Saud) proved to be a durable one. The House of Saud continued to maintain its politico-religious alliance with the Wahhabi sect through the waxing and waning of its own political fortunes over the next 150 years, through to its eventual proclamation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932, and then afterwards, on into modern times”

“Today Ibn Abd Al-Wahhab’s teachings are the official, state-sponsored form of Sunni Islam[3][21] in Saudi Arabia”

” The US State Department has estimated that over the past four decades the capital Riyadh has invested more than $10bn (£6bn) into charitable foundations in an attempt to replace mainstream Sunni Islam with the harsh intolerance of its Wahhabism.[25]”

“Estimates of the number of adherents to Wahhabism vary, with one source (Mehrdad Izady) giving a figure of fewer than 5 million Wahhabis in the Persian Gulf region (compared to 28.5 million Sunnis and 89 million Shia”

I responded to this with a massive comment!
Damn it!!!!!
Where is it?
Fuck it!
short and sweet!
Wahhabism is purely Saudi!
You can only be Wahhabi if :
You are arab
you follow the “rulers of men and land” The Saudi Monarchy!
Perhaps u are thinking of Salafists!
Salafists ARE NOT Wahhabi’s!
There are differences!

since the peanut-brained President Carter decided to draw the USSR into their own Vietnam

this is not true. brezhnev followed own, very aggressive politics. he though, after vitnam for ussr is allowed everything. he made mistake. socialism was not able to develope. and lost everything. also the ussr.

Socialism had stopped developing sometime before, thus need for Kosygin reforms of 60’s, these were abandoned due to easy oil money (for CCCP) in the earlier 70’s.

What is taking place in RU is an analogous process with the limitations of the so-called liberalization under low oil prices, only with proper feedbacks in the (re-) indistrialization process that are not centrally constrained, no way a committee, be it Politburo or EU Commission for that matter, can process that quantity of info, even if the brains were good, which they are often not.

Solomon Krupacek

you are right, the the fall began erlier. only in 70-ties the momentum was enough, in 80-ties no more.

Crashing USSR was Polish Zebig Brez plan. He advised Peanut-Brain Carter to fund, arm & train Al Qaeda (The Base) Mujahideen to draw USSR into Afghanistan. They succeeded. Then dumb as dog sh1te U$Asylum Empire went in themselves !!! Suicide or what ????
