Russia has announced a batch of measures, which will be employed in response to the shootdown of the IL-20 military plane as a result of hostile actions by Israeli F-16 off the Syrian coast.

According to a September 24 statement by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Russia will provide an S-300 air defense system to the Syrian military within the next two weeks. The Russians will also equip all HQs of the Syrian Air Defense Forces (SADF) with automated process-control systems thus providing the SADF with better intelligence and targeting information and integrating it with the Russian military group deployed in the war torn country. Furthermore, the Russian EW system will suppress communications, radars and satellite navigation of combat aviation involved in any attacks on Syria from the eastern Mediterranean.

Local sources and international observers already noted an increase in the activity of transport aviation at Russia’s Khmeimim Air Base in Lattakia. Reports also appeared that at least 8 Su-30SM and Su-35 fighter jets had been deployed allegedly to carry out combat missions in Syrian airspace.

The Russian Defense Ministry also once again mocked the Israeli version of the IL-20 incident during a press conference held on September 24. The defense ministry released a data captured by the S-400 air defense system deployed at Khmeimim Air Base, which shows how an Israeli F-16 used the IL-20 plane as cover against Syrian air defense fire.

“Today’s data no longer suggests, but clearly proves that the blame for the tragedy with the Russian Il-20 aircraft lies entirely with the Israeli air force and with those who authorized this kind of activity,” military spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov stated during the press briefing.

Earlier, the Israeli military had claimed that its F-16 jets were in Israeli airspace when the IL-20 was accidentally shot down by a Syrian S-200 missile.

The decision to supply Syria with the S-300 system already triggered fire and fury in the US and Israeli media. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu phoned Russian President Vladimir Putin asking him not to supply the system.

“The transfer of advanced weapons systems into irresponsible hands will increase the dangers in the region,” Netanyahu told Putin, according to Israeli media. The prime minister also claimed that “Israel will continue to defend its security and its interests.” On September 25, top Israeli leadership held a security cabinet meeting on the matter.

First reports about a possible decision to deliver S-300 systems to Syria appeared in in April 2018 following a missile  strike by the US-led  bloc on facilities of the Damascus government. Then, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman threatened that Israeli forces would wipe out these systems if they were employed.

On September 24, US National Security Adviser John Bolton also commented on the S-300 delivery to Syria claiming that it’s a “significant escalation” and accusing Iran of the IL-20 incident.

“There shouldn’t be any misunderstanding here … The party responsible for the attacks in Syria and Lebanon and really the party responsible for the shooting down of the Russian plane is Iran,” Bolton told media.

It’s interesting to note how in an attempt to avoid consequences the US-Israeli bloc blames everybody, including Iran, for the incident, which happened during an Israeli aggression against Syria and as a result of the hostile approach employed by the Israeli military toward a Russian air group.

Great!!…………Now the US and Israel are in a state of Panic!!

  • antoun

uhuh israel and usa panic!! excellentes news!!

  • Daniel Miller

Deployment of the S-300 will sagnificantly increace the threat level to the IAF and well will see more shot down IAF aircraft in the future. And another + is that the S300 has alot of the fire data caunculation automated meaning even brain dead arabs can operate the system to some good degree.

    • Justin

And the Syrians are already trained to use it :)

    • Hisham Saber

Butthurt because Arabs are kicking ass in the Levant. Just like when ‘ brain dead Arabs ‘ shredded and routed the IDF in the divine victory of 2006.
Israels blunder is a classic case of a small tactical victory at the price of catastrophic strategic loss. Hurray for Arabs. They will be fully trained by Russians on the use of the S-300’s, which will be fully integrated into the Russian Air defense systems. Now Russia can shoot down Israeli jets and claim plausible deniability.

I can see many Israeli Airforce pilots losing lots of sleep. And many possibly shot down, if they are foolish enough to fly anymore.

Israel is finished, it lacks strategic depth.

      A very happy Arab.

      • Kell McBanned

Yep plausable deniability – exactly what I was thinking – cant wait until they avenge their dead, and everyone elses.

      • Daniel Miller

and in 2006 you still manage to lose more ppl then the IDF…even with the help of Persians.
The fact you need Russians to shoot down IAF plans is enoth to proof just how braindead you subhumans are.

        • Hisham Saber

If you count all the Lebanese civilians killed in Lebanon, especially South Beirut, ya, more Arabs died.

The way the 75,000 IDF forces and their two armored battalions were out maneuvered, outflanked, outperformed and preventing the IDF from taking even border villages is all Arab strategy, Nothing Russian or anyone else about it. It was a monumental divine victory which shattered Israel’s confidence to the core. Now, Arabs are giving Israel, the U.S. serious headaches, because they know full well, their pathetic fighters/troops are no match for Arabs on the ground, where the war.battle is decided.

As we saw in Iraq 2.0, Lebanon 2006, and very soon in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and you can add Yemen to the list. For I love it when the Houthi’s chant :

          Death to America !!
          Death to Israel !!
          Curse on the Jews !!
          Victory to Islam !!

after every strike/kill. You better believe the Arabs are coming, and it will be a rout to foreign occupiers. The Russians will supply us with the tech, the Chinese with cheap, lethal weapons abd the Arabs the manpower.

          • Daniel Miller

really? no you still lost more fighters the IDF troops witch is quite sad.

          • Hisham Saber

The defeat of Israel goes down as one pf the most spectacular in military history of the world.

Israel fully had air superiority, a navy off her coast, attacked Lebanon with no less than 75,000 troops and two armored battalions, spearheaded by the Merkava’s (Chariot of God) MBT’s, 400 of the to be exact (44 were blown to smithereens), elite brigades, like the Golani Brigade (that got itself surrounded and almost annihilated) faced off with 4500 Hezbollah ‘ regulars’ at the time of the onset of the battle/war. Hezbollah had its special forces and commandos stationed north of the Litani Line. They saw no action.

And yet the Mighty Tshahal ‘ Gods Invincible Army ‘ , got stopped in their tracks, literally, and effectively routed. The IDF’s air force of course went after civilian infrastructure, but were not able to put Al-Manar T.V., Hezbollahs TV station, off the air. Just went about committing war crimes while their soldiers were routed and ran from battle. Israel nearly lost her Naval Flagship when a C-108 Chinese variant, cheap, readily and lethal struck it in the naval sea area off Israels coast. The Israeli’s stopped the construction/assembly line of the Merkava, as Hezbollah realized its inherent weakness. Hezbollah outmaneuvered, outflanked, outperformed, tactically , the IDF in every which way. It was very shocking to not only Israel, but to Christian Zionists and AIPAC, and hundreds of other Zionist lobbies in the U.S. 2006 changed everything. Strategically, Israel has no strategic depth, and Hassan Nasrallah has said multiple times that the next war fought , will be in Israel proper.

            Go Arabs.

          • Daniel Miller

and even with the IDF’s incompetance you still got slaughtered :D

          • Hisham Saber

It is you who is incompetent. You have the reasoning of a small child. The writing is on the wall for Israel, and U.S., British and French troops and hegemony in the Middle East.

Russia is gaining ground, and China will come with a ‘ win-win ‘ for the Arabs, whom will be back on their feet soon enough. Hezbollah’s defeat of the IDF was the final nail in Zionism’s coffin. 4500 routed 75,000 troops and air superiority with two armored battalions. What an embarrassment indeed. Goes down as one of the most lopsided defeats in the annals of world military history.

Even in Iraq, after 2003-4, an insurgency took hold by Arabs whom bogged down 14 U.S. Army battalions out of the total 16 battalions the U.S. has in the Army. Even the Marines went through hell. Snipers to IED’s to mortar attacks, the U.S. military was chasing a phantom, and couldn’t get the upper hand. Then the U.S./Pentagon announced a ‘ Surge ‘ , well that ‘surge’ was nothing but a surge of freshly printed dollars in the tens of billions to pay off the Iraqi Arab tribes to please stop fighting them so they could leave with some face.

The British fools fared no better, and the same went for England in Afghanistan along with the U.S. are still fighting and losing to a rag-tag bunch of guys dressed in bedsheets and sandals, armed with AK’s and IED’s and RPG’s. This is the second time Afghanistan has taught Britain lessons in warfare.

The future is in fact gloomy for Israel, U.S. and Britain in the MENA region. As the quality of ground forces they have are no match for 3rd world militias, let alone national armies.

            Go Arabs, and Afghan Pashtun’s.

          • Daniel Miller

the problem with that type of warfare is that you always lose more ppl then the enemy just ask the Afghans just how many fighters and civilians died in the 80’s form the Russians and now form the US.

          • Hisham Saber

But ultimately you win the war. A win over global Jewish hegemony by financial means. Its about freedom. ‘ I would rather die standing than live on my knees’ ,
Arabs/ Muslims are fighting back. And they are well on their way to freedom.

In the Soviet Union, lost 27 million to roll back and destroy Nazism.

Hezbollah has 10 people ready to take any martyrs place.

          • Daniel Miller

actually the Soviet union only lost about 6-8 millon troops (same as germany) the other 20-19million are civilians.

        • Hisham Saber

And btw, Syria shot down an Israeli F-16 just recently, didn’t they? First time in decades. Oh yeah, the times, they are changing.

          • Daniel Miller

yes that aircraft was shot down by the S-200VE.

  • Joe

“The transfer of advanced weapons systems into irresponsible hands will increase the dangers in the region,” Netanyahu told Putin,”

    joke of the century …

  • World_Eye

LOL they will destroy any S-300 system deployed in Syria, and please mr.zionists how are you planning to achieve this, when one of the most advanced system designed for that threats will be deployed, how you will destroy this with what? Jets = dead from S300,Cruise missiles = dead from s300, what guided bombs = dead, you must understand mr,zionists that this system will be in Assad’s forces and anytime they wish to shoot you if they see you on radar they will shot you, this is not Russia watching on their screens/radars and leaving you to bomb Syria for the sake of a good partnership, while your jets are like christmas tree on their radar, go go ahead challenge Assad you bomb his country on weekly basis ohohoho he will not hesitate to blast any incoming missile or jets.

    • Wolfgang Wolf

      )))

  • stary ujo

Opinion of Bolton isnt important , because USA are in Syria ilegally !! Russians keep S-300 switch ON , no as Pancir S-22 , what Israeli wankers destroy !

  • alejoeisabel

As of today, Russia, Iran, and Syria are better prepared to defend themselves than before. If Israel attacks Syria with the F-35 ($230,000,000 per jet) in an act of aggression, Israel will learn an expensive lesson. Syria will show the world what an S-300 can do with overpriced and ineffective F-35. Shalom.

This day in 1771, a great Alpha Male was born. His name was Nikolay Raevsky, and he was a general who succesfully led his regiment to victory in the Russo-turkish war of 1787-1792 and Polish-Russian war of 1792. Then he helped general Zubov anihilate poor Persians in the Russo-persian war of 1796, fought Napoleon under the leadership of PyotrBagration, then he was present at every major engagement of the Russo-Finnish war of 1808, then he fought against the monstrous army of
Napoleon, where he helped defeat Marshal Nay in the battle of Krasnoi and then in the battle of Leipzig. After Napoleon’s defeat, General Raevsky was given the honor of entering Paris at Alexander I’s side

      Salute.

  • Oscar Silva Martinez

Let’s see how the Undemocratic Western Republic of Yankeestan react to this.

  • Nasser Khan

Bibi, It does not matter what you do…….Moshiech is not coming on your watch.

  • pepa65

But why did the S-400 defense system not respond by shooting the Israeli planes after the IL-20 was shot down??

    • gustavo

Because this requires explicit permission from Putin, and firstly a full analysis of the situation had to be made, this was a very serious matter, and it was demonstrated already, ISrael has committed a criminal act against Russia. However, one expected something like this (do you remember when Israel attacked USA-liberty ship killing alot of north-american people ?) since Russia has been allowing ISrael to bomb Syria whenever nad wherever she wants (israel is female country).

    • Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

I guess because the israhelli jets were not attacking russian targets, but syrian or iranian, i still would have ordered them to be shot down either way

  • gustavo

Israel have, is, and will continue making stupidities. Only Russia can stop these barbaric people, and Russia (knowing that is the main terrorists supporter and protector of terrorists in Syria) has been accepting Israel to attack Syria whatever fool reason she clams.

  • Kell McBanned

    Hubaris comes before a fall…

  • Art Best

    But, but,

    Assuming this is true,

This did not start WWIII as all Putin apologists have been claiming for the past several years, did it?

    So *Why*

Did the Russians not do this *before* Syria was bombed 200+ times by the Israelis and countless times by the Americans, resulting in hundreds of Russian deaths? https://thedefensepost.com/2018/02/10/russians-killed-coalition-strikes-deir-ezzor-syria/

And hundreds of Syrian deaths? https://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/18/world/middleeast/us-airstrike-syrian-troops-isis-russia.html

Why did Putin allow the Israelis and the Americans to murder the Syrians and their allies with impunity, including Russian citizens as per above?

Who will be held responsible for the loss of men and materiel which could have been prevented *without* starting World War III as the apologists of this failed policy of appeasement have been shouting all these years.

I am sorry, my Russian and Syrian comrades who fell in the line of duty, betrayed.

Who will answer for this crime?
