Syria is determined to retake control over other its terroritores occupied by terrorists or hostile foreign powers, the country’s Permanent Representative to the UN Bashar al-Jaafari said during a session of the UN Security Council on the situation in Syria on March 27.

Al-Jaafari also accused Israel, Qatar, Turkey, the US, the UK and France of waging a “global terrorist war” against Syria. The diplomat noted that Eastern Ghouta is about to be liberated from militants and praised efforts of the Syrian Arab Army and help from the country’s allies.

Al-Jaafari’s remarks are another sign that the Syrian government stays strong on its goal to pursue the country’s territorial integrity and to oppose foreign forces operating within its borders.

During the same session, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya revealed that about 121,000 civilians had been evacuated from the Damascus suburb of Eastern Ghouta since the introduction of the daily humanitarian pause on February 27.

On March 28, civilians protested against Jaish al-Islam militants in the Douma district of Eastern Ghouta denouncing the group’s public decision to reject a reconciliation agreement with the Syrian government.

Negotiations between Jaish al-Islam and the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance are still ongoing. However, a source in the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) told SouthFront that the SAA and its allies are ready to launch military operation in the area if no progress is achieved.

Meanwhile, reports have appeared that negotiations are ongoing between militants remaining in southern Damascus and representatives of the Russian Centre for the Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria.

According to reports, the Russians suggest militants in Yalda, Babbila, and Beit Sahm to accept a reconciliation deal or to withdraw from the area to Idlib province. If the deal is reached, the Syrian-Iranian-Russian will free additional resources to combat ISIS in the Yarmour refugee camp area.

By March 28, the government’s National Defense Forces (NDF) and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) had remained in control of the town of Tell Rifaat south of the Turkish-occupied city of Afrin.

Despite reports by pro-Turkish sources that Turkish troops entered Tell Rifaat, it appeared that Turkish forces just reached its vicinity and then retreated. Local sources speculate that this is an indication of the ongoing negotiation between Turkey and the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance.

The sides involved in the ongoing Syrian wars are currently consolidating their recent gains across the country and preparing for a next strange of the standoff that will took place in the provinces of Idlib and Daraa as well as in some areas of eastern Syria.

eh be GOES DAMAS!!!

Joao Alfaiate

It is also important that Syria assert its claim to the Hatay which France gave to Turkey between the world wars. The Hatay retains an Arabic speaking majority and is ethnically part of Greater Syria.

I spent my childhood in Hatay.
It doesnot have an Arabic speaking majority.

Joao Alfaiate

Guess there are more Turkish squatters since my last visit. The Turks must be learning from the Israelis…or not letting the locals use their native tongue.

At least most of us do not speak about the things we dont know and post BS around like you do hoping that someone will buy. Even on 1930’s , before referandum, Arabian population was %46 over there, and half of them were Sunnis. Now , only %15-20 of Hatay residents know Arabic ( including %1 who only speak Arabic and they are mostly elders.)

Joao Alfaiate

Are you suggesting the Turks don’t Turkify lands they conquer? What do you think is happening in north Cyprus? And just who ran the referendum in the Hatay? Not one of the Mandatory Powers by any chance? Oh yeah, we can really rely on the honesty of the imperial powers.

I am telling you that your claim is not true , and it is not backed with facts.

There is nothing that can back up your thesis about Hatay having an Arab Majority , or Arabian being the dominant language in Hatay. Only your assumptions.

It was English who handed Hatay to Syria by the end of WW1 . You did not seem to be disturbed by ‘imperial powers’ then .Why you are complaining about another imperial power running the refarandum now ?

If you go to Hatay today and tell them about your claims , especially the one about ‘ Greater Syria’’, everyone including the Arabs living there will laugh at your face.

João, what happened to your til? And in north Cyprus the population was already turk before the secession. By the way, I always have supported the reunification of Cyprus, but the truth it’s the truth.

Feudalism Victory

Ethnic syrians? Ugh racism. Lemme guess syria for arabs only? No wonder assad cant get everyone under his banner especially the kurds.

Feudalism Victory

What your looking for is this:

These guys have a sustainable basis for Syria. Assada arabism is not.

matew ivanson

usa politicans, will you allow defeat of Douma? last rebel stand near Damascus, will you allow saa and hezbollah fcuking victory? what you waiting ? Haley did you give fake promises? if it true get the fcuk forever

“We are still concerned about reports that the United States and its allies are consolidating their illegal military presence in the territory of sovereign Syria. In particular, heavy military equipment is arriving to the zone established by the United States around the settlements of al-Tanf in the southeast of the country,” (03/29/2018)
FACT: Russia’s military presence in Syria is incapable of deterring US/NATO operations against regime forces (SAA/IRGC/Hezbollah/Russian mercenaries) nor will they retaliate against that coalition.

PJ London

Fact : US has carried out ZERO operations against “regime forces SAA/IRGC/Hezbollah/Russian mercenaries” since they were warned off by Russia. Israel has very bravely bombed Gaza since Syria dropped one of the IDF planes.
As long as the units co-ordinate with SAA and Russia, then they are protected. Only a single ‘rogue’ unit, planning on taking over an oil-field from the Kurds, without the authority or agreement of SAA – Russia has been attacked by the US in the last 4 months.
Russia – SAA are not stupid. Fight one battle at a time. Consolidate your gains. Protect your supply lines and rear troops. Liberate the civilians and restore civilian control. Once each area is cleared, then they move on to the next. When they are ready and have achieved their objectives, then, as said by the Syrian ambassador, then they will turn to liberating the next area, until all Syria is free.

What is the relationship between what’s going on in Syria and how is it effecting ISIS/Deash activity? Is IS involved in Syria still?

PJ London

They are all US-ISrael-UK banker proxies. There is no IS or DAESH or Al Qaeda or al Nusra, they change their name daily and swop the flags as they move.
Like 9/11 everyone knows it is BS but if you want to survive more than a week, you keep quiet.

The first error, as was David Kelly’s, was thinking that somehow people would give a damn, the second was thinking or hoping that the state would not be willing to murder them.
Like thousands before them and many to come, they were wrong on both counts.
Cook was dead a month later.

There is information (Fake ? who knows?) that Skripal was the source for Steele and the conduit to MI5. This would then make sense for why he had to die at this time. The investigators were closing in.

IS was set up (by US-Israel) in my view to sell the Syrian oil via Turkey and cripple Syria financially. Russia ended that and so the Kurds are being set up to sell the oil via Iraq.

But what do I know?

It is always about Oil and Pipelines.

Tudor Miron

I agree about daesh/nusra operating from the same command but I will have to disagree about oil/pipelines – those are still instruments in the bigger picture.

Fact : you are completely delusional and bolding your mad statements will not change the reality on the ground.
Very soon the legitimate government of Syria will re establish its full sovereignty on the whole territory, and your dear American government will be completely powerless and useless, as it is until now.
Welcome to the reality mate.

Brad Scofield

We want those oil and gas fields, do you understand ? After we take those, we will slaughter all the citizens and take the land. We don’t care if you like it or not ; we’re not in the business of being compassionate, for WE ARE ISRAEL !

Smith Ricky

Saa for the win ?

Manuel Flores Escobar

Tel Rifaat is very important for SAA…in case of lose it…Aleppo capital would be under threat!

Territorial integrity is something the West touts when it comes to itself and its friends and allies. Anybody else’s territorial integrity – like that of Syria or Yemen or the occupied territories in Palestine can go whistle – or be taken back by war.

Nigel Maund

Here’s a great new piece from http://www.zerohedge.com that exposes the extreme dishonesty, lies, deceit, duplicity and chicanery of the Western World especially the US, UK and EU (NATO) in Syria:
