A MiG-23 fighter jet belonging to the Syrian Arab Air Force has reportedly crashed in east Qalamoun near the Syrian capital, Damascus, after carrying out air raids in the area.

      Thank for the update, I was concerned about the pilot. Those are far more rare than migs in Syria these days

        2016 has been costly with loss of aircraft/helicopters. ……and pilots.
        Syrian and Russian maintenance techs working in challenging conditions and circumstances have been amazing for keeping SAAF high sortie rate.
        There are numerous frames for several classes to obtain spare parts
        Frame condition and engine components are the concern.
        Losses of upgraded Mig 23s and Su 24 as per their targeting ability for munitions.
