Syrian Army Takes Control Of Strategic Palmyra Triangle - Reports

The Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF), backed up by the Russian Aerospace Forces, have retaken the Palmyra Triangle from ISIS terrorists near the ancient city of Palmyra in the province of Homs, according to reports in pro-government sources.

If reports are confirmed, it will mean that the army and the NDF are de-facto in control of the western entrance to Palmyra.

Yesterday, government trooops partly outflanked Palmyra from the southern and northern directions.

The offensive cannot stop at Palmira, but it could be that given the current general situation the SAA could expand to have a more stable front. What is important is not to leave such salient like the previous time, it’s already difficult to defend and if left undermanned (like it happened), ISIS could retake the city again.
