On February 5, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) liberated yet another town in southeast Idlib from al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies.
The army stormed the town of al-Sheikh Mansur in the afternoon and secured it within a few hours. HTS and its allies didn’t show any real resistance.
By imposing control of al-Sheikh Mansur, the SAA has reached another Turkish post. The post, which is locate between the town and the city of Saraqib, was established by the Turkish military last week.
SAA troops are in the western and southern outskirts of Saraqib, the main target of the ongoing operation in southeast Idlib. The army may reach the city’s northern and eastern outskirts in the upcoming few hours.
