The Syrian army, Liwa al-Quds and other pro-government groups have liberated the area of Talat al Barakat following the previous gains in the northeastern part of Aleppo city.
The advance of Syriann government forces is ongoing in eastern Aleppo.
Jaish al-Fatah militant coalition has faced significant problems with defending areas inside Aleppo city because it has almost no defenses inside the eastern Aleppo pocket. It looks they have not expected that their defense lines in northeastern Aleppo can be broken.
In the nearest future, government forces will continue advances inside the city, pushing militants to surrender. If no, the army and its allies will likely intensify pressure on militants in southern Aleppo and will attempt to split the pocket intto two, launching an advance in the direction of Aleppo Citadel. The control over strategic Police Hill in Marjeh allows government forces to do this.
