Syrian Army Enters Former ISIS Stronghold In Western Daraa (Video, Photos)

On September 25, several units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) accompanied by a force from the Russian Military Police entered the al-Yarmouk valley in the western countryside of Daraa.

The deployment is a part of a reconciliation agreement that was accepted by the local leaders of al-Yarmouk valley two days ago.

Under the agreement, the towns of Sahem al-Golan, Hayt, and Jillin will join the reconciliation process on September 25 and 26, while the towns of al-Shajarah, Jamlah, Nafaa, Qusair, Koya, Abdeen and Beit Ara will join the process on September 27 and 28.

More than 127 wanted gunmen in al-Yarmouk valley will reportedly hand over their arms and settle their situation with Syrian authorities.

The al-Yamouk valley was a stronghold of the Khalid Ibn al-Walid Army, a branch of ISIS. The terrorist group was neutralized by the SAA and former rebels following the 2018 reconciliation agreement in Daraa.

The reconciliation agreement in al-Yarmouk valley is a major success for the reconciliation process in the western Daraa countryside, which was launched by Syrian authorities with support from Russia earlier this month.

The process appears to be going according to plan. Nevertheless, Syrian authorities will have to make much more efforts in order to secure and stabilize Daraa. The governorate is still filled with armed radicals.

Excellent results for the SAA & their allies. Diplomatic efforts from the Syrian government have saved many thousands of lives throughout the country.

Chris Gr

It is mostly the Russian side.

block

Another simplistic, ignorant comment. Did it perhaps occur to you that other SF readers have noticed your ridiculous ignorance?

Chris Gr

Are you real or basement dweller?

block

The truth hurts clown. Deal with it.

Chris Gr

What truth? The truth that you are basement dweller is there.

Ahson

What I like about the Russians is the total unflinching commitment to wipe out the wahabbi jihadists. Have you noticed the passion with which Russia kills them?……..lol. The IRGC then come in to lead the SyAA and wipe out the remnants and ferret out the rats. All then go in large death pits. Not the ideal job, but it must be done or else we’d have to fight these jihadist cunts in the streets of Tehran, Moscow and Beijing.

Well said, unfortunately the imbecile you replied to has an extremely basic understanding of geopolitical realities. Regardless, 👍

Chris Gr

If it wasn’t for Russia then jihadists would take Damascus. Bashar had a lot of foreign help. Without foreign help he would be dead meat.

Mike

Stick to spamming fake jobs there mossad.

Syria got into the cross-hair of geopolitics. It’s leadership saw that it was no match for the western backed terrorists. It kindly asked Russia to help them, what the Russians did. Since then the Russian army has helped them to recover from the war brought on them. Mainly also because western countries don’t really want to f**k with the Russian army over Syria. The Russian army today is a highly professional working force. Unlike the corrupt and highly unfuncional army that it was 30 years ago. And yes, some of the achievements made in Syria are 100% only due to Russian assistance.

Ahson

he’s probably young. Will learn a thing or two by being here.

Chris Gr

Tehran supports some kind of “jihadists”.

Mike

Your opinion aren’t facts mossad.

Chris Gr

Basement dweller, Iran has supported Islamists in Algeria, Egypt, Palestine, Sudan, Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Libya, Somalia and Lebanon and many other countries. This is fact.

Ahson

brah please………Tehran kills jihadists like rats. Millions liquidated in the last 2 decades alone……the winning streak continues. Hope you don’t mind.

Chris Gr

LOL like the Islamist dictator Omar Bashir that was supported by Iran to slay in Darfur? Or the Algerian Islamists? Or Morsi? Or Iraqi Hezbollah that did sectarian killings?

Chris Gr

It is in Greek interests for Assad to win. But on the other hand Iran is cozy with Turkey. They support Assad out of tactical alliance not out of ethnic or ideological affinity.

Mike

Again opinions aren’t facts mossad.
