On October 16 evening, units of the Syrian Army entered the key border town of Kobani (Ayn al-Arab) in the Syrian province of Aleppo. The town, which is controlled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces has been one of the key targets of Turkey’s ongoing Operation Peace Spring.

Now, when Syrian Army units are deployed there, attempts by the Turkish Army and pro-Turkish militants to capture it are blocked.

No one is going to take from the Syrians a single inch of Syrian land, zios included.

  • Sasan Jamshidi

Welcome, Kobane gave many lives but if syria is going to be united there is no real difference kurds saved it for all. Im happy Putin played Turks :D

Good to see they are getting their land back and if the agreement is true that this includes the SDF handing back the oil wells it is great news indeed. No blood spilt between them and that they can come to a peaceful resolution living side by side is in the best interest of all. Just need to reach an agreement with Turkey that the SAA will be responsible for looking after the border region , not them.

    God is great!

Good, now Erdogan can not finish what ISIS could not do.
The old dream of the Jihadis and Islamists to take Kobani is now totally destroyed.

    Yay! Go, SAA!

  • Luke Hemmming

Thats great NEWS. Now Russia needs to quickly insert it’s military police to dissuade any notion of Turkey trying to take Kobani by force. The deal with Kurds and Assad is a win win for them. The Kurds bring billions of dollars of US weapons along with them.

The end of the Daesh began in Kobane………….the new Syria began in Kobane…………

Integration is the answer to SDF. creating new separate province means Erdogan will in future attack just like in Iraq PKK areas.

    • Willing Conscience (The Truths

Yes that’s exactly what would’ve happened.

      • Astrid Watanabe

        Finally! Finally some good news!

        • Willing Conscience (The Truths

Indeed it is Astrid, and hopefully we [Assad + Syria] only have more good news to come, which will hopefully be bad news for Erdogan and the Muslim brotherhood. :]

    Nicely done

The Kurdish dream of self autonomy is over now, it’s dead and buried with no chance of revival thanks to Trump’s unforseen action.
And the SAA won’t stop at some pre arranged boundary with the Kurds, they’ll take over the whole lot of the northern territory, and they’ll do it because the Kurds can’t do a single thing to stop them, all they can do now is try to redeem themselves in the upcoming battles against Turkey and regain some respect from Assad and the Syrian people.
But don’t get me wrong, I still have plenty of sympathy for the Kurds, I don’t blame them for turning to the US when they had to do it to survive, if they didn’t switch allegiance to the US when they did Isis would’ve overran them and slaughtered them all, and the fact that Russia and the SAA were in no position to help them means they had no choice whatsoever.
And I also don’t resent the fact they were demanding self autonomy either, I think they deserved it even before the war started, no one should be forced to live under someone else’s rule just because they’re forced to at the point of a gun. The Kurds have a 2000 year history in the areas they mostly live in now, but Iraq, Syria and Turkey have only been around a few hundred years or so, so it’s pretty rich when someone from a country that’s only existed for a few hundred years tries to tell you it’s really their land now, despite the fact you ancestors have lived there in the same areas for more than 2000 years.
A new and better Syria is coming and now UN money will help to rebuild it, LOL, who would’ve ever thought this would be how it all ends for Syria and Assad, his old enemies the US, the EU, the Arab League, are all on his side now, and Erdogan the dickhead has the whole wide world condemning his actions, LOL LOL LOL, so how long can Erdogan last in Syria or at home politically now, especially now the whole world is standing firm against him, not much longer I don’t think, it’s nearly time to put him in jail.
