On Thursday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) captured Khara’eb al-Katna area, Mount Doyleb and Tal al-Mazrou in the eastern Hama countryside after fierce clashes with ISIS fighters, according to Hezbollah military wing in Syria.
Meanwhile, in the northwestern Deir Ezzor countryside, the SAA and Tribal Forces captured Shuaib al-Fatim area south of Maadan strategic town, according to pro-government sources.
In another development the SAA once again re-entered Sukhna town in the eastern Homs countryside where the Syrian military engineering teams are dismantling dozens of mines and IEDs planted by ISIS fighters inside the town before withdrawing, according to the ANNA News Agency report.
It’s worth to mention that several ISIS suicide bombers attacked the SAA after entering Sukhna town earlier this week, killing several Syrian soldiers from the 11th Division, according to SAA sources. However, the SAA succeeded in securing the town and its vicinity.
The SAA liberated large areas in the eastern Hama countryside in the last few days, thanks to its great advance in the southern Raqqa countryside and the eastern Homs countryside. This confirms allegations that ISIS is planning to withdraw completely from the eastern Hama countryside very soon.
