Syrian Army approaches strategic village of Kibsibba in northern Latakia

The Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard is approaching the strategic village of Kinsibba after a series of gains against the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) this week in the northern countryside of the Latakia Governorate.

On Tuesday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade – in close coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF), the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), and Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade) – seized the road between Duwayrikah and the rebel-held village of ‘Ara in the Kurdish Mountains (Jabal Al-Akrad), leaving them 2.5 km away from the opposition stronghold of Kinsibba.
