The Hezbollah media wing in Syria announced on Suunday that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Hezbollah took full control of Jorud Flitah inside the Syrian territory at the Syrian-Lebanese border. In the Lebanese part of Jorud Arsal, Hezbollah continued its advance, and captured more than 60% of the Jorud Arsal area.
Hezbollah liberated Wadi Al-Awaini and Shubat al-Qal’a Hight east of Jorud Arsal, as well as imposed fire control over Wadi al-Dob and Wadi al-Rayhan. Hezbollah also captured Shu’bat Sharaf Hight, Huqab Wadi al-Khail Hight, Dhulil Wadi al-Rayhan, Huqab Wadi al-Rayhan, Wadi al-Rayhan, Huqab al-Tuba in Jorud Arsal.
Moreover, Hezbollah fighters managed to capture the headquarters of the Omar Operations Room of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Huqab al-Khail.
Up to 50 HTS fighters have been killed so far in Jorud Arsal and 23 others in Jorud Flitah. Opposition sources have confirmed that the fighters of Saraya Ahl al-Sham, one of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups, have already withdrawn to the refugee camps near Arsal and started negotiations for their return to Syria.
Abu Malik al-Tali, HTS commander in Jorud Arsal, confirmed that HTS would continue fighting in Jorud Arsal. The group is still determined to fight in Lebanese territory despite its catastrophic losses.
