Positions of the IS terrorists, stationed near the Deir ez-Zor cemetery, were hit by artillery and missile units of the Syrian Army. As a result, the terrorist group suffered heavy losses.

At the same time, the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Air Force pounded IS positions on the hilltop 17 near the Tharda mountain, located in the southern part of Deir ez-Zor. Five military positions and two vehicles of the terrorist group were destroyed, while several members of the IS were killed.

Positions of the IS in al-Ma’amel region were also targeted by artillery and missile units of the Syrian Army, which managed to destroy a storehouse of weapons of terrorists.

On Thursday, after several hours of fierce clashes, Syrian troops managed to repel an offensive of the IS, launched on army’s positions in al-Sina region near the Deir ez-Zor airbase. The IS was forced to retreat from the battlefield in order to avoid more casualties.
