After recent changes on the front lines in eastern Ukraine, fighting continues in the same areas. Russian forces adhere to the tactics of pounding enemy positions with artillery and aircraft before advancing deep into the Ukrainian defense. The AFU are attempting to counterattack, quite successfully in some sectors of the front.

Amid battles on the front lines, Ukrainian troops continue senseless shelling of civilians in the People’s republics as well as in Russia.

On May 11, the AFU launched an artillery strike on the Russian village of Solokhi in the Belgorod region. As a result of the attack, 1 civilian was killed and seven others were injured. In response, Russian troops launched several strikes on the positions of Ukrainian forces in the Chernihiv region.

Explosions were also heard in the village of Dubovoye in the Belgorod region. There were reports of shooting at the border near the village of Shebekino.

As a result of another shelling of the city of Donetsk by the Ukrainian MLRS, at least one civilian was killed. The villages of Yasinovataya and Gorlovka were also shelled by Ukrainian forces.

Meanwhile, the AFU is approaching the Russian border in the Kharkiv region.

According to unconfirmed reports, the AFU reached the state border of the Russian Federation in the area of the village of Ternovka. Ukrainian forces are pushing Russian troops out of the village of Cossack Lopan. Fighting also continues north of Old Saltov.

In the area of Izyum, Russian troops recently managed to take control of the villages of Velikaya Kamyshevakha, after which their advance stopped. On the other hand, the AFU’s attempts to counterattack Russian positions have not yet been crowned with any success.

The AFU attempted to stage the use of chemical weapons by Russian units to the south of Izyum.

Ukrainian forces blew up a tank with ammonium nitrate. According to the statement of the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukrainian nationalists under the leadership of the Security Service of Ukraine blew up a fertilizer storage facility near the village of Dolgenkoye in the Kharkiv region. They aimed to poison the local population and blame the Russian army for this.

To the east, the city of Liman, where fierce fighting continues, is still firmly in the hands of the AFU. At the same time, a slight advance of Russian forces was reported south of the city near the village of Yampol. The AFU were forced to retreat due to heavy losses.

In the area of Severodonetsk-Lisichansk, fierce fighting continues. The LPR troops with support of Russian forces took control over the settlements of Voevodovka and Yuzhny. Chechen fighters also reported on the liberation of the Zarya powder factory.

The offensive of the LPR on the village of Belogorovka has not yielded successful results at the moment. The AFU reportedly destroyed the Russian pontoon bridge. In the direction of Lisichansk, there are battles along the Orekhov — Toshkovka line.

In the area south of Kremennaya, forcing of the Seversky Donets by Russian troops and the breakthrough towards the grouping operating from Popasnaya have not yet succeeded.

Russian troops are slowly breaking through the defense of the AFU to the north of Popasnaya. Part of the Ukrainian forces retreated in the direction of Loskutovka. The AFU are strengthening their positions near Gorsky, waiting for the breakthrough of defensive lines near Orekhovo.

According to local sources, the AFU blew up a dam near Avdiivka in order to slow down the advance of the DPR army and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Over the past few weeks, there have been no successes claimed by any of the parties on the southwestern outskirts of Donetsk near the village of Maryinka. Russian official sources claim that part of the village is still in the hands of the DPR Armed Forces and fighting continues on the outskirts. According to unofficial reports, the village fell again under the partial control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the DPR command is urgently pulling together forces to recapture previously taken positions.

Were you looking int he mirror when you ‘thought’ of this comment?

Max Born (November 1960, Bulletin Of The Atomic Scientist): “Should the human race not be extinguished by nuclear war it will degenerate into a flock of stupid, dumb creatures under the tyranny of dictators who rule them with the help of [social media] and computers. This is not a prophecy but a nightmare.”

Winston Churchill (1944): ”I have left the obvious, essential fact to this point, namely, that it is the Russian Armies who have done the main work in tearing the guts out of the German army.”

Soft and slow because of ethnic Russian civilians. Wait until Russian army advances to Odessa and Transnistria. The now battle hardened Russians, enraged by Western lies and Bandera atrocities, will pulverize any sign of resistance in the Bandera Nazi homeland. This would include any Rumanian or Polish ‘peacekeepers’.

Ernest Hemingway: “Anyone who loves freedom owes such a debt to the Red Army that it can never be repaid.” This debt is being enlarged twice by this humiliation of NAYOYO.

tempting to take Churchill.

I would say Russia made it possible for Hitler to take the land and ressources to attck USSR itself.

I also will say Churchill undereatimate the help given to USSR

It also was west by USA and GB which knocked out the German insustrial complexes.

Mainly USA and 5% britts took out Japan.

Churchill was better in rhetorics and bad decissions rthen in warfare. It was very visible at Gallepoli and before that too.

His predictions about american techs was Brittish standards.

Acocording him a new airfield at Malta would take 3 months. USA used 14 days. The invasion in southern France to Lyon would take 3 months. But Anville only took 3 weeks. He could not see allmost all first class nazis troops was eroded to nothing at Normandie.

There only was a small hard arriere guarde to protect Southern France.

So much for quoting important persons out in the blue.

That looks like it was absolutely brutal. There must have been hundreds of men with those units. Hopefully they survived and were able to be medevaced back to Russia.

Arzt Injektion

You are such an arsehole. Would you like to go fight for Ukraine and see what it is like at the Eastern Front?

Mike

I absolutely would not like to go there and fight for either side. I wish all the Russians to go back to Russia. And for any Ukrainians who would prefer to fight or to live in Russia to emigrate to Russia as well.

It is quite clear that the Russians are not “liberating” people that want to be liberated and that Kyiv is going to give up their territory. We have seen this in several fronts now where the Russian tactics seem to be wave after wave of cannon fodder but the Ukrainians don’t seem to have any shortage of ammo to dispatch them. The longer this stretches on, the more casualties there will be but it is doubtful the outcome will be different and it is doubtful that the outcome will be positive for Russia.

The intent of my comment was only to express the wish that neither Russians nor Ukrainians continue dying, if they are injured I wish them a safe return to somewhere they can receive treatment for their injuries so that they may live out their lives in peace.

jorge

The guys living on the frontier territory between americaneurope and eurasia must realize they are useless, alive, for the american exceptionalism.

JerryDrakeJr

To emigrate!? Why? Why didn’t the Albanians emigrate from Kosovo, but they were given that territory? If the Ukrainian population wants to be part of the Russian Federation, then so be it! Equal standards for all, it is somehow the most democratic …

Mike

Like I said, not for total clearance of the Donbass, but those that feel so strongly opposed to the direction that Ukraine is going in politically/socially but they like Russia’s political and social system better it might be a good idea for them to just go.

If they feel strong enough to fight, and they have been fighting for 8 years, but they are losing even with a very strong ally coming in to reinforce them. Living in exile is still living, it is better than death.

The same thing happens in places like America, people were vehemently anti-Trump, anti-Obama, they hate that people can have guns, they hate that they can’t have enough guns, they hate that they don’t have free healthcare/higher-education, or they hate paying for other people’s welfare services through taxes. The same option is available to them, emigrate or win elections and try to change them. Some of them have higher bars for change than others and but if it is something that is causing them trauma and anguish to the point where they would think to take up arms against the government, it is probably just a better idea to pack their bags and leave to a country that has a system they admire. Civil war against a government with a strong and well trained army like Ukraine has is unlikely to succeed and if they haven’t won after 8 years, the Ukrainian army is able to push back the Russians, and the world is backing Kyiv the future looks very grim for the rebels in the LPR and DPR.

The maharaja

Wow spoken like a true coward. If things dont go you way run away. Great advice.

Keep watching, this is far from over. If you have not noticed Ukraine is taking back something it lost. It has gained nothing to this point. The DPR and LPR are larger than ever before. Kherson is now Russian. There will be a lot more killing and a lot more dying before its over. By men…men who do not run away.

jens holm

Thats no cowardnes. If you cant or wont fight back, You will be stepped on.

Its very visible for Syria. About 8 million of them are not even in the country. They dont think they should be killed.

They dont support Assads, SDF, Jihadists or ISIS.

Some migt say those people should be given the country. No matter what they are, they at least dont kill each other.

Loath

Hardly cowardice to choose to either accept to live peacefully in a land whose primary identity is not your own or go to the place you think of as your true home. Another alternative, whether cowardly or not: to wage war against the nation that has accommodated you, that is in any case just imperialistic, chauvinistic bastardry, as advocated by Dyadya Vova.

Joseph Day

But would the seperatist states have been loosing if the ukonazis weren’t getting millions in weapons from US.

jens holm

I dont think You get the point. Maidan was 17,8 % Russians should not run Ukraine supported by Russia and also with their mercenairies.

Ukriane is a country stupidity made by USSR themself.

They moved old Ukraine west to take etritory from Poland(Belarus same thin). next they added a big Russian/Russian industrial zone in east + Krimera.

jens holm

Thats right. People often also forget, that USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australie was for people, which often had and has no choise.

Thats why they today are allowed to protect themself against the state and can create religions as they wish, if they pay for them too.

3 of my grandfaters sibling went to USA and 1 to Argentina. They were as poor as any can be. In those days Denmark many in Denmark was very poor.

Three of did well and one died. The three comming to new York got a job right away. Mary already was hired as householder for a farmer at the Pampas. The farmers wife was died, so she replaced here as center for the household.

By that I do understand people somethimes has to go somewhere else.

jens holm

In the Russian media they dont die.

I would like to see more and better verifications for that many lost.

Mariupol and Kherson defenders dont think that!

The maharaja

Be fair, there has to be tens of thousands of Ukrainians outside those areas who do not see it that way. If you include their surviving family members its probably into the millions. So lets not forget them.

Against Ukro trolls

That`s very strange, following what i had been seen in the last days, was Ukraine that was trying to counter attack in this direction, and was Russia that was blowing temporary bridges constucted by the Ukros in this area. And another thing… how can you prove that these are Russian vehicles??

Analyst

The significance of the Ukrainian pushback is that it shortens the frontline.

Having reached the border, the ukies can regroup their forces elsewhere, meaning, they can concentrate more groups on the remaining frontlines.

It gets harder and harder for the Russians to achieve anything. The Izyum offensive seem to have been essentially halted by the ukies, one or to kilometres a day (if that) is nothing in the big scheme of things. Also, now the supply lines to Izyum are in more and more danger.

So far, this appears to be a big win for Ukraine. The mighty Russian army is being fought to a standstill.

jorge

Good day, rabbi Shlomo.

luchkir

big win for Ukraine? You must be drunk )))

jens holm

In that corner it is. The rest seemes to be a stalemate with Russian advances in meters.

datrum

So is it a big win for Rus than? I’m still waiting for that mayor offensive at Donbas. So far they are just bleeding people and tanks going nowhere. How long that can continue like that?

jens holm

You are right. I, worried for the Izium finger. I hope next can be to reduce or cut it.

Tuff Tank

‘The mighty Russian army’ according to the pathological liars of NATO high command.

Analyst

Also: with the spring rains arriving, the landscape transforms into a sea of mud once the first tracked vehicle passes over it.

The weather have been really generous towards the Russians, even in April there were regular subzero temperatures.

This would have been a really good opportunity to launch a full-scale invasion.

And the Russians blew it.

The maharaja

They blew it? Was a full scale invasion their goal? I remember at the start it took them about 8 days to get to Kiev. …. While clearly the plan they had did not work I am not so sure the goal was to occupy a country the size of Ukraine with 200k troops.

jens holm

It was and inddirect coup expecting the Ukra Goverment to resign or leave.

By that they already had a Marionet leader. I don recall his name. He was jailed, escaped and is now again in Ukra jail.

The absence of Russian progress on the front lines is just half the picture, obscured though it is by maps showing big red blobs, which reflect not what the Russians control but the areas through which they have driven. The failure of almost all of Russia’s airborne assaults, its inability to destroy the Ukrainian air force and air-defense system, and the weeks-long paralysis of the 40-mile supply column north of Kyiv are suggestive.

Add to these the repeated Russian tactical blundering visible on videos even to amateurs: vehicles bunched up on roads, no infantry covering the flanks, no closely coordinated artillery fire, no overhead support from helicopters, and panicky reactions to ambushes. The 1-to-1 ratio of vehicles destroyed to those captured or abandoned bespeaks an army that is unwilling to fight. Russia’s inability to concentrate its forces on one or two axes of attack, or to take a major city, is striking. So, too, are its massive problems in logistics and maintenance, carefully analyzed by technically qualified observers.

jorge

Russia has already 3 (three more Crimeas, at least) in the west frontier. One more Crimea by month it’s good. It’s a good ratio against the polling crematory on all the so called Occident.

Russia’s army is in a woeful state. The fiasco in Ukraine could be a reflection of a bad strategy and a poor fighting force.

Ricardo2000

Expecting the most corrupt country in Europe to fight and win a war is laughable. Zelenskiy’s defence is based in Switzerland and designed to protect oligarch bank accounts. Russia has won this war because they attack, defend, and move their units when and where they please. All the AFU can do is suffer, retreat on foot, and threaten to shoot elderly conscripts in the back.

Ukraine lost this war in 2014, when between 70% and 95% of recalled reservists failed to appear. Citing British Home office reports, Col. Jacques Baud (Swiss Military Intelligence), “Young Ukrainians refused to go and fight in the Donbass and preferred emigration, which also explains, at least partially, the demographic deficit of the country.” Meaning there are no young Ukrainian men left to join the army. They are enjoying life in Europe. If they come back, they will enjoy Bandera widows.

https://www.thepostil.com/the-military-situation-in-the-ukraine/

Russia is certain to surround and destroy AFU in the East. After that what’s left? Conscripts that refuse to signup forcing Ukraine to hire mercenaries that will surrender as soon as they realize they might die fighting another’s war.

Winston Churchill (1944): ”I have left the obvious, essential fact to this point, namely, that it is the Russian Armies who have done the main work in tearing the guts out of the German army.”

Disinfo

Russia is either inept or is following a strategic plan that includes pulling back from the larger cities to concentrate on gaining open territory in order to cut off the larger cities from resupply. At the same time, Ukraine has chosen not to attempt counter attacks near Kershon in the south, which keeps a sword above the neck of Odessa. Everything is either planned or both sides are inept.

hash

jorge

«Everything is either planned or both sides are inept.» Translation: …

Johannes Ekhman

The Russian army has committed well more than half its combat forces to the fight. Behind those forces stands very little. Russian reserves have no training to speak of (unlike the U.S. National Guard or Israeli or Finnish reservists), and Putin has vowed that the next wave of conscripts will not be sent over, although he is unlikely to abide by that promise. The swaggering Chechen auxiliaries have been hit badly, and in any case are not used to, or available for, combined-arms operations. Domestic discontent has been suppressed, but bubbles up as brave individuals protest and hundreds of thousands of tech-savvy young people flee.

jorge

Good day, Queen Hunter Biden Merkel Macron Elisabeth II.

RobinHood

Yeah…the siege has gone down in history as utter and total failure.

Putin can do nothing. He has pathetic poorly operating military force and soldiers not well trained.

They and we dont operate in primitive one string or nothing systems. So the USA/UK is an important addictions.

Thats how we are.

We have news from many sources and they are allowed to have their own oppoinion as well as You can add who they represent.

In the same way we have many political parties. They has right to have seats in the parlaments as long as they follow Our wide constitutions. A change in Goverment there is no revlution but a change in importent things as well as keep.

The new weapons are handled by Ukras. They have been in the coountries, where the weapons are for using the education facilities there.

And sure. We help those ukras to fight back. Thats by trying to close the border, so Putins cant come in.

This failure indicates that the Russians have not invested enough in providing secure C2 assets to their forces. Further, the Russians lacked the ability to coordinate amongst different units: BTG to BTG, front line forces with support forces (including fire support), and ground to air are only some of the areas where the Russians have suffered significant problems.

The Russian system is based on tight control of information and highly centralized decision-making. Reports that Russian soldiers deployed for combat believed they were still on exercises in friendly territory are common. This hurts the Russian military where it matters — on the front line. It is extremely unlikely that the Russian military will ever allow an empowered NCO corps. NCO’s are also poorly trained.

Winston Churchill (1944): ”I have left the obvious, essential fact to this point, namely, that it is the Russian Armies who have done the main work in tearing the guts out of the German army.

You’re thinking of the Cold War Soviet army. Putin sets clear goals based on imaginative, wise strategic considerations, and holds his commanders to responsible. This explains recent changes in high command.

H. L. Mencken (1880 – 1956): “Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.”

William Casey (CIA Director 1981-1987): “We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.”

Find someone else. Winston made so many fatal errors in his life in the military as well as a politicians.

What went wrong for the Russians? A major problem is corruption. Although the Russian Federation apportioned resources to update the military (the 2010 state armaments program alone invested around $626bn from 2010-20), much of that money disappeared into the greedy maw of the Russian state, mainly the oligarchs and the siloviki or former security service men who run the government for Putin.

Exactly, and that’s not the only corruption or weirdo things going on in Zombie land. The people are stupid as well believing in Putlers Second World War 80 year old stories.

The history change will take decades. Others there has their problems too.

Everybody cant get back land back they once had. Its almost funny they cant see that.

It goes for Syria as well. None will make changes even they know Syria/Ieaq/Pakesine is an artificial constrution. Turks even seemes to be worse in that.
