Series Of Mysterious Attacks On Oil Tankers Around Persian Gulf

The tensions continued to grow around the Persian Gulf following a cruise missile strike on Saudi Arabia’s Abha International Airport carried out by the Houthis on June 12.

On June 13, Marshall Islands-flagged Front Altair and Panama-flagged Kokuka Courageous oil tankers were rocked by explosions in the Gulf of Oman.

After the incident, Iranian state media reported that Iranian sailors had rescued all 44 crew members of the tankers. This statement contradicts to CENTCOM claims that said that 21 mariners from the M/V Kokuka Courageous, were rescued by USS Bainbridge.

There are no confirmed details regarding what actually happened. Mainstream media outlets reported different scenarios that caused the incident: from a torpedo attack to naval mines. Nonetheless, the common point of all these speculations was that Iran was somehow responsible for the incident.

Later, U.S. State Secretary Mike Pompeo directly accused Iran of being involved in the supposed attack.

“This is only the latest in the series of attacks instigated by the Republic of Iran and its surrogates against American allies and interests. They should be understood in the context of four years of unprovoked aggression against freedom-loving nations,” Pompeo claimed. He added that the attack was done in the framework of attempts to end “successful maximum pressure campaign” of the US sanctions. However, it remains unclear how such moves may help to Iran in this task.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif labeled the incident as “suspicious” hinting that this may have been a provocation. Another, factor contributing to this version is that the incident happened during a visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Iran. The Kokuka Courageous is owned by Japanese company Kokuka Sangyo Ltd.

On the previous day, a fire broke out on an Iranian oil platform of the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf. The fire was subsequently contained and no fatalities were reported. Iranian authorities are investigating its cause.

These incidents come one month after four tankers were damaged off the coast of the UAE. After it, US National Security Adviser John Bolton said that naval mines “almost certainly from Iran” were used to attack the ships back then.

This series of mysterious incidents affecting oil tankers and facilities near the Persian Gulf as well as increased Houthis attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure have drastically increased tensions between key powers operating in the region. If the situation develops in the same direction, the Persian Gulf may become a new hot point in the Middle East.

    Mysterious! No kidding? Who profits?

    • Brother Thomas

Not mysterious at all. Predictable and scripted.

    • You can call me Al

      Israel or Saudi.

I know where my money is.

      • doodaa

        Sure bet.

    • Rob

US, Israel and Saudis are now cooking for war with Iran. The courageous and heroic soldiers of Iran should ready for defending its nation from child butcher Trump and KSA.

      • Sinbad2

No war would stop the oil, the US cannot survive without those petrodollars.
This is just part of the assault on Iran, and an effort to force up oil prices.

    • Sinbad2

The US needs oil prices over $70, and $250 would cure their economic problems for another 50 years.

      • verner

dream on – the us would need 150 bucks over a long period to fix its problems, since there are hardly any taxes on gasoline or diesel or crude oil. so exxon for example, extracting oil in africa parks the profit in a tax friendly country to avoid american taxes till they repatriate the money.

        • Sinbad2

It’s not taxes Americans pay, it’s the taxes other countries pay to America.

Every time Australia buys some Saudi oil, first we have to buy some US dollars,

the US of course charges us a fee(tax).
Then when the Saudis get the US dollars for the oil Australia bought they convert them into Riyals, the US of course charges them a fee(tax).
To simplify things and hopefully reduce the fees(taxes) we leave a lot of money in the US as US dollars in things called treasury bonds.

The whole world gives money to the USA, and the higher the price of oil the more money the world has to give the USA.

  • World_Eye

Typical Bolton/Pompeo false flag set up. What is more to say here! Nothing tho and more interesting is that one of the Oil tankers were Norwegian carrying Japan goods and both of these oil tankers were struck while Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was in meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. What a coincident. Someone must have to know the manifest of the boats, what was in it, who was on it. This more looks now for the US to be able to strait their destroyers through the Strait as Military escorts for other tankers. And that gives the US total pathway to go back and forth through the Strait of Hormuz while Iranians ships are close, and soon or later there will be a US military ship supposedly hit by some torpedo from Iran and that will be the easiest way for the US to start their nasty military campaign

  • RichardD

These problems in the Gulf certainly fit the evil baby raper’s Yinon plan parameters.

Iran is not as irresponsible as is trying to give out the US State Secretary Mike Pompeo. No state started a war by putting fire in her own home. Everything seems to be a provocation from ‘a state’ that does not wish to see peace in the Persian Gulf States and her neighborhood to have instability from 2011 since the Arab Spring. It prefers to transfer the war from Syria to another geopolitical point, as it has failed all its plans to destroy Syria.Flaring up in the Gulf will be easy to annex Gaza stripe and finish of all the Palestinians and Hezbollah.

  • Wanklord

FACT: the IRGC Navy was indeed behind that attack and the regime cannot deny such fact; now if they used mines or other type of weapon that’s another topic. Here is a picture of that fast patrol boat as seen on CENTCOM press release:

and here a PressTV article dated 10 MAR 2016 and titled “Iran to build fast battleships cruising at 80 knots p/h: General” (watch the video of that article):

  • Tudor Miron

There’s nothing misterious about those attacks. US vassals (tanker owner countries) will have to suffer a little while US creates reasons to attack Iran.

    • Sallie Ann

Correction….while Israel creates reasons for the US to attack Iran….there I fixed it for you….

      • Sinbad2

        No no no.
You can’t keep blaming the Jews for every crime America commits.
I’m not saying Israel is innocent, but the USA is Dr Frankenstein, Israel is just Igor.

        • MayorofNYC

You are correct that you can’t blame the Jews for every crime America commits. There’s a big difference between a Jew and a Zionist.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUppu2OHVTY

But you cannot deny that the Zionists (both Jewish and Christian) truly are the real criminals who are hell-bent on continuing the Middle East bloodbath. And since the Zionists control America’s politics all our resources are at their disposal and expendable in their mindset.

          • RichardD

Jew and Zionist are synonymous. Henry Ford wrote the International Jew 100 years ago before Israel even existed and Zionism was a comparatively minor issue, and it’s true now as it was then. Only it’s worse now.

        • Sallie Ann

Wake up and smell the corruption of the US folks in Washington bowing down to their jew masters already….

          • Sinbad2

Yes of course, but they bow down to pick up the silver they are paid.
The Jews have always flourished by bribing key people in the countries they choose to pillage. It’s Christian Americans that empower them, and Christian Americans who fight for them.

      • Tudor Miron

        You have a point.

  • Sallie Ann

They are NOT mysterious attacks…..They are Mossad attacks. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/1253ed203f921f592d6585d168fd2296fe12c3ff322cba4064a6dfeea2a4c862.jpg

So is it possible that Israel wants a WAR with Iran….you betcha bippy they do!!!! For just this reason!!!!

    • Sinbad2

Mossad might be carrying out the attacks, but it’s the US that benefits from high oil prices.

      • verner

oil prices bounced a bit, opec-basket say from say 60 to 61.5pb and wti with say 2 bucks per barrel. notmuch to worry about, so far.

        • Sinbad2

          Exactly.
First the US stopped Iran selling oil, to push up the price, that failed.
So then the US stopped Venezuela selling oil, to push up the price, that failed.
The US has also tried to stop Russia selling oil, that has also failed.

So now the US tries to scare up the price of oil, I don’t think that will work either.
The global demand for oil is falling quicker than the US can destroy countries.

Trump has tried to stop the upcoming American financial collapse on selling oil, but American oil is just too expensive.

    • verner

I agree – mossad mossad all over the place. and I wouldn’t be surprised if a nuke-laden israeli stealth sub is lurking close to or in the gulf of Oman and that it is supplied by the american fleet nearby.

  • Sallie Ann

Israel is pushing an Iranian War and having America fighting it for them…..

  • Vitex

What’s the end-game? Does the US really intend to invade Iran (can’t see how that would go wrong) or is it just to force the fuel price up so that no-hope fracking schemes in the US can become cost-effective? If Iran is invaded I don’t suppose they’ve any reason to hold back on fragging Israel… Does Israel have a death-wish, or are they just collectively paranoid?

    • Sinbad2

Just push up the price of oil, the US desperately needs more petrodollars.
$250 a barrel if the US is successful.

  • Sinbad2

This isn’t new, the US engineered the 1973 oil crisis, to force up the price of oil, to stop an American economic collapse.
It worked, so why not do it again?

  • RichardD

This an important step in removing the JewS$ as a tool of economic terrorism against humanity. What really needs to be done is to dejudify the planet so that these problems don’t occur in the first place.

let’s send them packing to the only place that will accept them, the disintegrating states of A and then herd the fifth columns littering the world with double loyalties to the same place so that the criminally corrupt neo-nazis in washington dc and the neo-nazis ex-squatters including the fifth columns can enjoy each others company.

      • RichardD

The US needs to be dejudified. American Jews should be extinct.

  • khalkha

Were iranians never said if they can’t buy they oil no one will can’t ? That could be a reason .

    • Iranian Falcon

Exactly. And denying it is only for kids to believe.

    • Sinbad2

But this doesn’t stop people buying oil does it?
It does raise the price of oil, but that doesn’t help Iran.
So who needs more expensive oil?
And the answer is, the USA.

      • khalkha

You wrong i think, because usa did pression on oil productors many times to increase their production in order to maintain the prices.

  • goingbrokes

“They should be understood in the context of four years of unprovoked aggression against freedom-loving nations,” Pompeo claimed.”
He is talking about the US, isn’t he?

  • Cheryl Brandon
    • Sinbad2

I think the US will have trouble getting global support, their partners in crime France Britain Israel and Saudi Arabia will of course support anything the US wants.
But the rest of the world is growing increasingly wary of the maniacs in Washington.

  • Sinbad2

Oil prices are falling again, expect a bigger attack on oil producers or shippers in coming days.
The US is desperate to push up oil prices.
