SDF Spokesperson: We Don’t Mind If Assad Government Returns To Manbij

Roundabout in Western side of Manbij, in control of SDF

Jihan Ahmad, a spokeswoman for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), told Sputnik on December 21 that the SDF does not oppose the return of the Damascus government’s institutions to the northern city of Manbij and stressed that self-administration is the only demand of the Kurdish-dominated group.

“We are a part of Syria and we don’t call for separatism, but we want agreement on self-administration as part of free Syria to be reached,” Ahmad said, when asked by the Russian news agency if Manbij could be handed over to Damascus.

The SDF spokeswoman added that the group’s leaders have held talks with representatives of Damascus on several occasions. She added that the SDF has no problem with the “regime” or the Syrian flag.

“Today our efforts are aimed at protecting the region and warding danger away from it,” Ahmad said.

A day earlier, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) revealed that the SDF and the Damascus government are holding talks on the future of northeastern Syria amid the U.S. decision to withdraw its forces from the war torn country.

Local observers had predicted that the SDF will move towards Damascus and Moscow in order to prevent Turkey from attacking northeastern Syria in the aftermath of U.S. forces withdrawal.

Why waiting for USA to withdraw before submissive to legitimate government.A puppets and bastards will never stop playing Robot game.

Jens Holm

Syrian troops cant handle USA in the SDFs as it is now.

They only would have a good chance, if they left Idlib.

Jesus

Sanity returning to the Kurds? Yea they were high on the American opium.

Jesus

The other option was to use American weapons and die.

Zionism = EVIL

Kurds are basically cowards and known to switch sides like the Italians and French. They first side with whoever seems to have a chance and when that side starts losing they find the next whore-master. Kurds are the most treacherous people in the region.

NOS

I am actually baffled by the fact that Kurds cannot learn from history. Clinton did to the Iraqi Kurds exactly what Obama/Trump just did to the Syrian Kurds. When Saddam realized that Clinton had troops in Northern Iraq training the Kurds, it hit them hard and their American mentors fled the region leaving them to die in Saddam’s hands. History is repeating itself!!

Zionism = EVIL

Kurds are just treacherous by nature, even their proverb, “Kurds have no friends but the mountains”. No wonder there :)

Jens Holm

Most kurds in Syria not even live in the mountains.

You keep the level as looking for job as toilet cleaner in ISIS tunnels well.

Jens Holm

Well, I am not like that in this. Trump is very unusual.

I will wait to see what the internal USA does and at least hesitate concluding like You for now.

Jens Holm

Arrrhh the same. They are cowards as usual explain everything. You are told by Your master they are like that too and do. If not, You are not alive Yourself and still only a spendable for free.

gustavo

Remember that France will take USA place. SO, let us still wait a little bite more.

Jesus

France will try to take the place of US and fail. The French are vagabond poodles that try to imitate a Doberman.

TS

Please.. the word Poodle is basically German.. The French term is Caniche..

Jens Holm

Jesus as a person is kaput. My father only knew kaput as german word, when we once were there :) .I fear to write

Viva Macron and all his little marcaronnis.

FlorianGeyer

France does not really have the capacity to fight in Syria without US supplies from Iraq, so any major attack by Turkey or the SAA would cause a French ‘Retreat from Syria ‘ similar to this one :)

http://static.newworldencyclopedia.org/thumb/c/cc/Napoleons_retreat_from_moscow.jpg/300px-Napoleons_retreat_from_moscow.jpg

With L’Empreur Macron on his horse Marengo whose skeleton is now on display again at the UK National Army Museum in London.

Jens Holm

Not France alone. It is a coalition and several other dont like the Trump part of USA at all.

FlorianGeyer

Perhaps Legoland will offer to stand with France.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keTQYDRRMks

Zionism = EVIL

France is a small bankrupt poodle with enough problems at home. Macron is a Goldman Sachs Zionist arselicker and just a midget with a big man complex. The French military is a JOKE and will not do anything. France simply does not have the manpower, resources or logistics to fight an indefinite asymmetrical war spread over a million kms. Soon all the US lapdogs in the region aka France, UK, Australia etc will start suffering major casualties if they don’t run too. Does anyone in their right mind think that SAA, Iran, Russia, Hezbollah or the local populations will allow foreign poodles to occupy their nations. I have some swampland in Florida to sell.

Jens Holm

EWell, France is not alone in their spreas out. You might do the opposite from spread out, so we dont get all that crap from both ends of You.

Jens Holm

In theory its possible. Your fokus in that is wrong. Its a coalition having many countries in it.

If You add themup – and they agree – they can handle it. 2.000 to 6.000 isnt that many. There are logistics for it to.

I see it as a low % possibility as well as american troops pon ground are not USA have there. We will see what the chaos of today will be.

Zionism = EVIL

Kurds are treacherous cowards and are now boxed in as their sugar daddy Americunts have cut and run. Kurds bend with whichever direction the wind is blowing and have sold their mothers for a few shekel throughout their pathetic history. They have been disloyal to every state they have lived in.

Jens Holm

Again toal nonsense from some deep digged lavetory og ISIS.

Mustafa Mehmet

Nice 1

PZIVJ

Time for the Russian MP’s to move in? SAA should extend control along route M4 to the upper Euphrates dam. This would be a nice start to reclaiming territory. :)

Jenny Lancaster

they’re terrified of the turks, i don’t blame them! may Assad have mercy on some of you! i wouldn’t! siding with America made you traitors in my book

Rüdiger Preiss

They have been traitors before. Opportunists. The Americans simply have exploited that.

Bigaess Wangmane

Jihan Ahmad, a spokeswoman for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), told Sputnik on December 21 that the SDF don’t oppose the return of the Damascus government’s institutions to the northern city of Manbij and stressed that self-administration is the only demand of the Kurdish-dominated group.

You already had autonomy, then you decided you wanted to annex 1/3 of Syrian lands for yourselves. No autonomy, no special privileges, become an actual Citizen of Syria like the rest of the population or fuck off back to Turkey and fight Erdogan for your goddamn Kurdistan!

Dicksonrp

They will call the region Kurdreal……in tribute to their sponsors and rulers…the zio terrorist isrealhell!!! I hope Syria and Russia leave them to their own and allow Turkey to take care of the Syrian and Turkish problem. Whatever remains of them after, truck them to the border of the zio terrorist encampment called isrealhell and let their sponsors take them in.

iosongasingsing

Israel is the great protector of the Kurds: That takes them in the Golan instead of ISIS!

TS

Curdihel.. I think..

Dicksonrp

???nice one bro…Maybe Kurdinhell…

disqus_nPjXuwtWc5

disqus_zpHfSAPUXY ):

Jon Gruntha

Turkey will never give back territory it takes. It plans to install a government in Syria that does Turkish bidding.

Jens Holm

They already have a name.

Of course You as evel enemy of no smame put in all the crap from Your own never cleaned place.

Dicksonrp

Listen whore Jewish daughter of Lucifer….don’t bring your shit by me….I’ll trace your ip down and deal with you one on one!!! U just a zio terrorist Jewish piece of shit…

Jens Holm

You are only correct in SDFs reacts with more then surprice as the rest of the world listening to Trump. Even many Americans do.

And yes, they are sandwiched and try to find a position, which work. We will see.

jorge

Kurds, get rid of the Ocalan boys. Remember the timor Xananna Gusmao in an indonesian prison? You can’t trust a guy that is in a turkish prison.

Siegfried Stahl

there will be a race as soon as the US is gone. who will be the first? or will the US tolerate the regime or jihadis next to it during the withdrawal? it will be exciting

Rüdiger Preiss

Maybe Assad should let the Turks soften the Kurds up a bit. After a few weeks they won’t ask for autonomy any longer – they’ll beg for their lives and the SAA will be greeted with flowers ;)

Jens Holm

Thats the whole worry for many. Can fx Assads and Iraq control it from ISIS even ISIS now are very low.

That was why USA did a lot to get anything else but kurds in FSA regi, but very few joines. We see it where the pocket of ISIS are. Those arabs aound them are not many as well as not the best soldiers in the whole world.

It will create a big vakkuum not posssed by Damaskus as well as Bagdad.

And can the 12 mio not at home return.I dont see that for those areas as well( I estimate to 2 mio there).

Rob

These ISIS are infact US SOF. These are the one that recruits militants around the world.

Jens Holm

And Youi are a rubberduck in a very dirty pond by Your own dirt.

Siegfried Stahl

uih, if ISIS is US SOF then US SOF are all fools. there is no need to worry…

no, i think ISIS is a militia created from outside syria & iraq. the gulf states (initially also turkey and the usa) have built up and equipped ISIS. the flights from bulgaria are verifiable. the numbers on the weapons can be found on sales contracts. that is all provable. i also think that ISIS has been massively supplied with military intelligence. otherwise, the initial successes can not be explained. i don’t believe that there are americans fighting … that’s way too dangerous. ;{)

Rob

This is 5th generation war in which US army enter into foreign countries as oppositions, rebels or as terrorists.

Siegfried Stahl

no, this concept is old… “divide et imper”

Tudor Miron

Kurdish whores (male). First hoping to grab some Syrian land on behalf of US and no they “don’t mind”. They were told thousands of times that traitors will be left to dry but they were too “smart” to listen.

FlorianGeyer

The Kurds have watched too many Hollywood films about the power of the modern US Military Tudor.

FlorianGeyer

This video will interest you of you have not seen in Tudor. I am very impressed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG3jYYvTXNc

Robert Guttierez

Kurds got caught with their pants down. All of a sudden they’re ok with the Syrian government in Manbij. That’s mighty nice of them. They would be singing a different tune if they thought they had big brother protecting them. They chose the wrong horse in this race.

GRAHL

what other horse was available when they were getting annihilated by ISIS ? The whole thing is working out perfectly for the Kurds if they’re smart enough to reconcile with Damascus. Use US firepower and supplies to survive the ISIS onslaught. Now time to give up the dream of “Kurdistan” and accept the True Syrian leadership. They didn’t pick the wrong horse they survived.

Jens Holm

More like Trump again has the pant down and we all dont like it as well as the way. Not only SDFs are like that. rather chaotic.

Rob

SDF: We dont mind if SAA takes Manbij, we dont mind if SAA takes Umar oil fields etc. It does not work like that. SAA army should be in the entire country. Russia, Syria, Turkey, Iran and Iraq will not let SDF to be the enemy of Syrian state to divide it.

Jens Holm

We will see.

verner

what else can they do!

Jens Holm

They can appeal to outsiders as they do to France.

Rüdiger Preiss

Not that they have much to “demand” after all. The Kurds are hypocrites. Even the Druze who otherwise keep out of conflicts and are exempt from military duty, have stood with Syria!

Jens Holm

Well,You should expaect Druse to join ISIS or FSA in stead. Even ???

Joe

Too late don’t you think?

Think Assad is such a fool ?

Bet he would just let events take its place…

iosongasingsing

All right if the Kurds return to Syria, but first a bit of Turkish Bunga Bunga.

FlorianGeyer

The Lafarge cement works is in the Kurdish occupied area now. It is fairly new and I would think it is just one of a few reasons the French troops are there. Cement will be in great demand in Syria.

Jens Holm

You are very optimistic gelling, there will be peace there at all.

I agree for cement.Optimists say they thay have a lot of asphalt for roads in the oil.

FlorianGeyer

Perhaps all the combatants should take lessons from Denmark in the now obligatory ‘ shaking of hands’ Jens.

Jens Holm

I never asked for that too. Its stupid herashment for me. But so is denying it for a whole citicenship.

I remind You that only some few women are learned that.

jm74

That is generous of the SDF considering that the territory belongs to the Syrians.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

We don’t mind Assad, he’s OK, it’s that nasty Erdogan we don’t like, he’s really mean to us, Assad’s not nice but at least he’s not as mean as nasty old Erdogan is, we’d prefer to go live in Assad’s house, PLEASE. Small kids can be adorably cute and irrationally stupid at the same time, and sometimes get away with it, but adults can’t. Trump said to the Kurds back in January, my pantries nearly empty, I think it’s time you went home, the Kurds said no, we don’t want to, we like it here in your house. Trump put his foot down and locked the pantry, so the Kurds decided to go home and see what it was like. The Kurds offered to bend over backwards in their endeavours to reconcile with Assad but he kept refusing. They kept promising him the world, and still he refused them. After a while they eventually gave up and went back to Trump with an empty begging bowl, but the sad eye routine didn’t work on Trump though, and he put his foot down even harder. But just like petulant children the Kurds began camping out on Trump’s veranda and refused to go home, so now Trumps moving house and letting new neighbours move in, and leaving the Kurds still camped out on the new owners veranda. But that’s OK too, the new owners don’t like Erdogan as a neighbour and are quite happy to let the Kurds camp out on their veranda and throw stones at Erdogan’s house, now they’ll get some payback on Erdogan for what he’s been doing to them. He’s been letting/encouraging his own kids to throw stones at the old house the new neighbours have just moved from, and still own as a first home, paybacks are a bitch and the French can be very vengeful, especially if they’re ruled by a closet gay man pretending to be straight, yeah sure you’re straight buddy. For more than 6 months the Kurds begged Assad for complete self autonomy and he kept refusing, he did offer them limited self autonomy and everything else they were demanding though, but the sticking point of complete self autonomy and their refusal to accept anything less, has got the Kurds to where they are right now. Lucky for them no ones really deserting them at all, they still have a role to play in this sordid saga, and in the end, it will be a role they will relish.

TS

legally, the Turks only get 20km.. so, in many places, they too will have to withdraw..

Empire's Frontiers

20 to 30 thousand?

Hiding where, eating and drinking what?

Jens Holm

None should rely in numbers like that.We dont know.
