It will be beautiful to watch them work out in the eastern Ghouta region, lots of terrorist targets to practice their new weapons systems on.

      • JPH

SU-57 not primarily ground attack but air superiority. Will probably providing air cover over SU25 thus replacing SU-30 or SU35.

        • TiredOfBsToo

Agreed, but is capable of striking ground targets and that will require testing as well.

        • Joe

More important is , it works closely with Su35 and provide Su35 better info and data. That would deal with old F22 better.

Are you suuuuuuure a war with Russia is something you really want to do?

      • John Whitehot

I don’t think it’s Russian action, more likely is the action of corrupted pentagon suppliers selling broken stuff.

they managed to make a space shuttle explode for the same reason, back in the 80ies.

        • PZIVJ

Leaking O ring. Very stupid to launch with ice sickles still on the launch pad.

          • John Whitehot

very stupid to launch in general. The supplier admitted using non-certified materials after the tragedy.

        • wwinsti

Your interpretation is a correct one, I also doubt Russia has a hand in the oxygen supply issues with several different aircraft. My point was a counter to veloceraptor’s claim about imaged Su57s being the result of incompetence, rather than something the Russians did on purpose.

      • velociraptor

        i dont want any war.

you did not answer to my comment.

        • wwinsti

Your comment is not a question, and others have pointed out that aircraft left on a tarmac are probably meant to be imaged. I’m glad you don’t want a war though.

    • NeoLeo

Typical SolomonK russophobic trolling… they don’t try to hide it, the whole idea is a show-off. Although I kinda agree it’s a risky move.

Wow, i was skeptical at first, but this is fantastic

  • paul ( original )

I think the Su 57 has been displayed at air shows, so its existance or
general profile are hardly a secrets. What impresses me the most about
this deployment is that it shows the functioning of an imaginative
and creative miltary mechine capable of unexpected thinking. Also it
must have an insirational effect on the SAA and Syrian Air Force.
What would interest me is to know if the new engines are fitted to
these planes. May be a bit soon for that.

    • Orcbuu

Well they want to test them, pretty sure they evenconsider to fly near enemy territorie for testing radar, stealth and many other things even new rockets, bombs and mg. I dont think they want to test it until the new engines are ready, so many things have to be testet too, so if another engine is given the OK to fly with it why not. But im also very found of to know, what if.

      And it gives good moral!

      • Joe

Well besides testing , it can be a good deterrent to the F22 too as the Su57 can be an a covering plane to other planes and feed info to other planes. The new 4 gen planes that came along must have been equipped with systems compatible with the Su57.

yes, Syria ideal testing ground as American planes would be flying close by and no danger of conflict by lots of testing.

        • hohenstaufen

It can not be a deterrent to F22. Do you really believe those stupidities? F22 is already in service for more then 10 years dude, while Su57 is still in testing period (I do not think that are more then 10 flyable). The moujiks send it to Syria forpropaganda reasons; also in order to test some of it’s weapons in a “combat” environment i.e. to test it’s air to surface capabilities and maybe a “new” engine (it’s well know that this plane has an underpowered engine and the new engine is still and still and still under development). Also the radar switching from air to land operation in combat could be test it. I also suspect that they try to show to the indians the progress made (and some deliveries of intelligent weapons will be a good move) so that those indians will start pouring some money again in it’s development and who knows; maybe other closer to Syria ;) . Meanwhile the F22 is already a proven air-to-air platform and also (from 3 years) a good air-to-land platform. So NO, it’s not going to be used as a deterrent because the muricans will destroyed it if the situation will get hot (which also will be a propaganda blow for putin cronies).

          • Tudor Miron

Repeat this BS another hundred times and that might help you get to sleep:) F-22 a proven platform? What to do if it happens to rain? Troll harder zio, troll harder.

          • velociraptor

            florian geyer2 has arrived :)))

          • velociraptor

you should be blocked by admin.

          • hohenstaufen

Stupid miron strikes back. Sometimes you should start using your brain. F22 it’s a proven platform, but keep dreaming abous SF-stories regarding Su57. The same bullshit was said about couple of fags killed by muricans n Deir Ez-Zor. then suddenly the number start growing and growing :D …. And btw the rain problem was on B-2 but was solved due some new interesting coating. Compared to you moujik, I do not troll just read more :D ….

          • Tudor Miron

Interesting coating? Lol – that’s a good one to feed sheeple to justify spending more money. It doesn’t look like your reading is helping much

          • NeoLeo

f22 cRaptor is a broken pile of crap… just as your brain you dumb cocksucker.

          • velociraptor

            1000 +

          • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

You mean it’s an expensive flying piece of garbage cost way too much to fly and is not invisible to radar as professed. US blew it on the F22, Su-57 has been around for a decade ,and it delivers where the F-22 fails, the cost of maintenance for the F-22 makes it prohibitive to fly.

          • JPH

Design freeze for F22 was over 15 years ago. Introduction started in 2005 and production ran till 2011. Ever heard of Moore’s Law with respect to CPU performance? Processing power has multiplied by 2^10 say 10^3 by now. Also that performance is achieved at much lower cost. Too complex too early comes at a horrible price tag as Concorde demonstrated and the F22 at some 350 million US$ a piece too. The production was scaled down from 750 to 187 of which only about 130 are with operational line squadrons.
The SU-57 now in Syria will most probably not have the new engine given its recent first flight. Avionics suite testing will probably be an objective alongside with operational experience. Looks that Russian air force is only allowed aircraft at reasonable price/performance. That may result is getting a comparable aircraft much later indeed but also at a fraction of the cost.

    • Sinbad2

Do they need new engines in this role?
It’s not like they are going to be chasing down F22’s, even with the old engines, they are much faster than any of the axis powers aircraft.

  • TruthSeeker

Is this where we might see more manpads? Can a manpad catch a su57?

    • Sinbad2

That would be a no, but an SU-57 would detect the location of the manpad when it was fired.
2 minutes later, GI Joe, or GI Samuel, would be dog snacks.

    • John Whitehot

perhaps we’ll see more “Syrian Su-22s” shot down as well.

  • Roberto

Second Russian plane gets shot down, this time with manpads and they send their latest jets to join the fight, not what the perps expected. Glad to see them reinforcing their commitment to the Syrian people.

    • Alex

the second plane was shot down because it wasnt equipped with the latest counter mesure system Vitebsk-25

      • velociraptor

So, what a piece of junk send the generals in the frontline :-O

        • Joe

That junk will send your illegal occupier pissing in their pants and now have to look out for Su35 plus SU57 . That is really good.

          This time Russia is serious.

    • Sinbad2

I agree, the US did exactly the same thing in the Philippines and Hawaii, it made it very easy for the Japanese bombers.

      • John Whitehot

80 years ago there weren’t SAMs, Early warning and AWACS. Besides, “Hawaii” was Pearl Harbor, the US were at peace then and had no reason to disperse planes.

        • Sinbad2

The US declared war on Japan when it blockaded Japan in July 1941, and seized(stole) Japanese assets.
The idea that the Japanese counter attack was unprovoked is just part of Americas fictitious history.
The US knew Japan would attack, the US needed a war, to end the depression, and pillaging is how the US makes a buck.

The US is using exactly the same tactics today, the US is desperate for a world war, and a good pillage.

        • PZIVJ

There was no excuse for what happened to the US Philipine air force 24 hours later. Always thought this was MacArthurs biggest fuck up, but was covered up.

        • dontlietome

Perhaps you have all forgotten that The Yanks knew that the Japs were on the way……………. and this attack was to be used as the propaganda spring-board to bring the US into WW2, ……….so send the RADAR operator home early…………… hence no early warning,

          • Merijn

The Marines that died that day were just “Collateral Damage” for the Greater Good…betrayed by “their own government”…..right?

        • Redadmiral

Except the Yanks new that the Jap navy was on its’ way to Pearl Harbour and they also knew the time the attack was going to take place. Hence, the reason the scheduled appointment between the Japanese Ambassador and Roosevelt was stalled by 3 hours in order to claim an unprovoked attack in peacetime. Slippy customers are the Yanks,

          • PZIVJ

Japanese ambassador did not hold a declaration of conflict in his hand.

  • dontlietome

The image quality is shite, this is not very convincing, I have seen the real deal that is able to read the print on a newspaper……………. so chaps , this is a b.s. attack.

    • John Whitehot

there are the videos of the planes landing at hmeynim, this is not a bs attack – although it’s entirely possible that someone took images of su-57s in Russia and pasted them over hmeynim airbase. as for the why, idk in the slightest. Always if someone isn’t preparing a fake news of Su-57 shot down over Syria, which would probably the most insane propaganda stunt ever attempted.

      • dontlietome

mmmmm, I should have been clearer in my criticism. I am very surprised that these very valuable aircraft were not immediately moved to bomb-proof protective shelters, but left in the open……………..Especially after the previous mortar/drone attacks…………….so my immediate impression was that of disbelief. I most certainly believe that SU 57’s are there, but can only assume that the ISI must have snapped them prior to them being moved under cover (? )

        • John Whitehot

afaik there are no HAS at Hmeynim. It’s not the sort of thing you build in one week, and for some reason, be it technical or political or whatever, they never appeared.

It also seems to me that people is still way too biased by hollywood in their analyses.

even if a plane gets damaged in mortar or drone strikes, it’s evidently a calculated risk.

On the other side, there are yank analysts running around like chicken without heads – it’s incredible how the first plane had hardly put its wheel on the runway, that one of them stated “We still haven’t seen these planes launching bombs or striking anything, they are there mostly for show-off”.

They lied to the US public saying that the plane was hardly entering service, that without indian money it was a dead project, and all that kind of jealous shit the pentagon and the israeli spam generic and specialized press.

I hope they choke on this.

In short the Zionist State released their satellite images so that their Wahhabist partners will increase attacks on the Russian airbase. Maybe it’s high time the Russians share satellite images of Zionist bases and military infrastructure with Hezbollah. That’s if they’re not already doing so.

Su-57s are out there in order to simply insult F-22/35. The impact almost immediately: F-22 got the order to ground. And the stupid US’ vassal France who has flexed its muscles before the Su-57 arrival must cool down its head.

don’t forget that the chinas announced the J-20 entering service these days. Let’s wait until an F-35 meets one of those.

      • Ivan Freely

The Chinese wouldn’t send their J-20 to the Middle East. But, the J-20 will face off against the F-35 when both Japan and South Korea gets fully trained on the F-35.

you are invited to try making one pass.

      • Joe

Well you assume the base is impregnable which is unwise as anything can happen.

No base is impregnable and need only one pass nearly entire fleet get it. Has happened many times.

Russians in Syria initially may be thinking ISIS does not have an air Force forgetting that it’s enemy number one has

It’s not that difficult to understand.

i assume that anybody willing to “make one pass” and able to get away with it will have to declare a formal war with Russia and then get nuked into outer space.

USA so opposed to disclosure an exposure of it’s illegal Syrian air bases. But to fast to do the exposure of Russian and Syrian movements and bases just to warn and empower terrorists. What’s the USA trick .

    • goingbrokes

Yes, let’s have some satellite photos of the US bases in Syria. Anywhere in fact! It would be great on-line resource for keen students.
