Satellite Images Reveal New Turkish Outposts In Northern Al-Hasakah

On December 11, Obretix, a defense observer on Twitter, released satellite images revealing that the Turkish military have established two new positions south of the border town of Ras al-Ayn in the northern countryside of Syria’s al-Hasakah.

The new Turkish positions are located south of the village of Tell Dhi’ab and to the southwest of the village of Tell Barqah.

Several Leopard 2A4 battle tanks and ACV-15 armored personnel carriers (APC) appeared to be deployed in the two newly-established positions.

Turkish forces captured Ras al-Ayn and much of its countryside last October following a fierce battle with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The Turkish Armed Forces established a series of positions north of the strategic M4 highway last month. Now, the forces are apparently working to establish more positions between the highway and the border line to solidify their control.
