Last night, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies captured Al-Shaitat, Ayid hills and Mzen al-Baqar, Musaydah villages east of Jubb al-Jarrah town in the eastern Homs countryside, according to pro-government sources.
The SAA killed several ISIS fighters, and destroyed several vehicles of ISIS during its advance.
Meanwhile, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq announced that ISIS fighters repelled an attack of the SAA on Abu Hanaya village east of Salamiyah town in the eastern Hama countryside.
According to Amaq, 3 SAA soldiers were killed, and one other was captured by ISIS during the failed attack.
Amaq also claimed that ISIS fighters destroyed an armored vehicle of the SAA and killed a Syrian soldiers in an ambush on al-Sukhnah-Deir Ezzor highway in the eastern Homs countryside.
The Air Russian Air Force intensified its bombing campaign against ISIS in the eastern Hama countryside pocket, according to pro-government sources.
The SAA and its allies are likely trying to secure the eastern Hama countryside in order to redeploy the forces there to the northern Hama countryside and Deir Ezzor fronts.
