Russo-Iranian reconstruction of Fordo Nuclear Facilities

A meeting held among representatives of Russia’s Atomic Energy Corporation, Rosatom, Russia’s environmental, technological and nuclear oversight service, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) and Iranian Nuclear regulation took place on November 11-12.

The implementation of a joint comprehensive plan of action between organisms of both nations was the main part of the agenda, and as a result of it, a favorable evaluation of the progress of the reconstruction of Fordo Nuclear Facililties for the production of stable isotopes was pointed too.

The rebuilding of the mentioned site is part of the arrangements agreed due to Iran’s adherence to the P5+1 group.

Iran is expecting an inspection to be carried out by the International Atomic Energy Agency in accordance to the lifting of sanctions imposed by the UN, the US and the EU over Iranian nuclear program. Depending on the results of the inspection, Iran could experience the relief of such sanctions.
