Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bombers have once again hit ISIS taregets in the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor.
“On January 25, six Tu-22M3 long-range bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces took off from an airfield located in the territory of the Russian Federation, flew over territories of Iraq and Iran, and carried out an aviation strike ISIS terrorists’ targets in the Deir ez-Zor [Deir Ezzor] province of the Syrian Arab Republic,” the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
The airstrikes hit two control centres, ammunition storages, armament and military hardware belonging to the terrorist group.
This was the fourth time in 5 days Russian strategic bombers targeted ISIS terrorists in the area of Deir Ezzor.
Meanwhile, the Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have been developing a military operation to reverse the terrorists’ gains in the city.
On January 25, government forces gained ground in the city’s cemetery and captured an important hill in the area.
