A Russian officer died during demining works the area of Suhsha in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on December 18.
“On December 17, during the demining of a section of the road in the area of the settlement of Shusha, an explosive device was detonated. As a result of the explosion, an officer of the demining group of the International Mine Action Center was seriously wounded,” the Defense Ministry said.
They noted that the serviceman received emergency medical assistance.
“During the transportation to the hospital, the officer died from his injuries. The Ministry of Defense will provide all possible and necessary assistance and support to the family of the serviceman,” the department stressed.
