On April 19, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that the new stage of the Russian military operation in Ukraine aimed at the complete liberation of the Donetsk and Lugansk Peoples’ Republics had begun. In his turn, spokesman for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov claimed that the special operation is going according to the plan.
Traditionally, Russian high-precision missiles hit a number of Ukrainian military facilities throughout the country at night. This time, the main targets were located along the main front lines in the Donbass region and in the south of Ukraine, in the Nikolaev region.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, 13 strongholds of the AFU were destroyed with high-precision air-based missiles in the areas of Slavyansk, Barvenkovo and Popasnaya. The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) hit 60 military assets of Ukraine.

2 depots of Tochka-U missile warheads were destroyed near Chervonaya Polyana and Balakleya. 3 command posts of the AFU as well as 53 areas of manpower and military equipment concentration were also hit.
As a result of attacks by the Russian missile and artillery units, the following targets were destroyed:
- 25 command posts of Ukrainian units near Nikolaev, Kirovsk;
- 2 missile and artillery weapons depots near Voskresensk and Nikolaev;
- 2 Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile launchers near Gulyai Pole and Nikolaevka II,
- 1,214 areas of manpower concentrations.
