Russian And US Forces Play “Gotcha” Game In Northeastern Syria

Support SouthFront

On March 9, US forces deplyoed in northeastern Syria blocked a Russian military column moving in the direction of the city of Qamishli. Such moves are a common practice for the US military, which seeks to limite the freedom of movement of the Russians in the area as much as possible.

The Syrian Army and Russian forces respond to these US actions symmetrically. For example, on March 8, Syrian troops blocked a U.S. convoy that was attempting to conduct a patrol in the northern al-Hasakah countryside.

GuyQ

US is the “gameboard”. Syrian Army is the “pawn”. Who is the Russian Army is the “Buzzer”

Gotcha!

BMWA1

Well, SAA represents a lower escalation potential, so they front the aggressive actions…that is how I see it from POV of politics and strategy.

Assad must stay

Russia should blow away any US convoy that blocks it, they are there illegally while russia is there legally

GuyQ

No point. One will get tired and leave. Us is just there to intimidate

Phoron

That sounds like a good way to start a war, magnitudes worse than what’s already happening.

Is that wise? Is the hour so late that desperate direct moves should be taken?

Remember that USA so many military bases in the region, that it might as well be Texas.

What you’re proposing is exactly what the militant Tikkun-olamists want, a real hot war with Russia and Iran, a third world war.

Guess who benefited the most in the last two?

Assad must stay

you seriously think a war will start from some soldiers getting blown away in a country where they are not even supposed to be? its kinda sad that syria has even more balls than russia in this regard, they are the only ones stopping US convoys, russia seems to just allow them to go wherever they want

Phoron

Of course they can; wars have started before over stolen hogs.

I would like to see US troops ejected from Syraq as much as you,

It’s not Russia’s responsibility to do all the heavy lifting in Syria.

Russia was and is instrumental in saving Syria from being overwhelmed by bad actors, that’s unassailable fact.

No offense, but don’t be an ungrateful prick.

Assad must stay

dont call me an ungrateful prick, you are so naive, you think US is going to be asked nicely to leave syria someday? they arent planning on leaving anytime soon, who else is going to kick them out and has the ability to if not russia?

Phoron

The US will leave when the Kurdistan project fails to achieve enough results to justify the ongoing cost.

The project itself is precarious, and hinges on two crossings over the Tigris into Iraqi Kurdistan upon which all of the economic viability of the US occupied zone in Syria depends upon.

There are many other vulnerabilities undergirding the project itself, of course- namely the actual inhabitants of that area, as well as the political will of the US to continue a very unpopular occupation there.

Additionally, the project can be seen as a bargaining chip. I dont think the USA is married to the Kurdistan project, so to speak.

Assad must stay

Yes I hope that project fails

Tim Williams

USA forces will leave after the USA election in November … they will be home for Christmas 2020

Lonesome Cowboy Burt

What do you base your assertion on? I’m curious.

Tim Williams

USA presidential election is in November … the remaining 500 or so troops are there for pure political reasons at the moment … nothing more

Lonesome Cowboy Burt

Well, we shall see if there indeed are elections in Nov, considering this storm building on multiple fronts. Aren’t they there for Israel ultimately?

Saif Imam

Guys calm down, no need get your heads hot.

cruzaros

The Kurdistan project has already failed, the US is there to steal oil and create all possible problems in Russia, Iran and Syria in favor of Israel, but sooner or later they will leave Syria, hopefully they will leave Syria sooner or later and live…

Boxman

No need to start WW3, just kill a few US troops with sniper fire or roadside bombs and they’ll go home. The Syria deployment is unpopular with the public, who were perfectly content to see US troops pulled out back in Oct 2019 when the deep state made Trump backtrack.

The public would’ve been happy to leave Syria then, and they’ll be happy to do so now. They just need a little incentive. A few dead American troops will do the trick. Seriously, it would take only the slightest nudge to get the US out of there.

But better to wait until the Turkey situation is sorted out first.

Assad must stay

havent US troops already died in syria?

khalkha

Hhhhh russia can’t nothing against usa and she knows that.

Assad must stay

think again longshanks

Fuckturkius Sraloukranius

KEEP CALL AND FUCK THE US SUBHUMANS .

occupybacon

Lel just try

John Ballantine

Thick as a pig…

RAAS

Pigs are actually very intelligent. More so than man’s best friend, dogs. Just saying.

occupybacon

That’s what your mom said too

Habib

Road side bombs, they are begging for it

Kananda

until now americans bombed russians

©igare☘☘e?Sm⚽️k?ng?Man️?

And Iranians bombed muricunts.

Kananda

so, iranians are tougher then russians :))

©igare☘☘e?Sm⚽️k?ng?Man️?

No! That’s stupid what you just said. Or was it a joke ? I didn’t laugh …
Americans bombed Russians, Iranians bombed Americans, Israelis bombed Iranians, Palestinians bombed Israelis, Russians bombed Turks, Syrians bombed Turks, Kurds bombed Turks, Iraqis bombed Kurds, Kurds bombed isis, isis bombed Syrians etc etc …
Bombing …it happens…

Lone Ranger

Wehehe.
Cute ;)

khalkha

Everyone a little bit sane knows there’s a sharing roles between russians and Us in Syria.

roland

No they have come extremely close on a few occasions to shooting each other

roland

Russia has incinerated 80000 us proxys this is not a game

khalkha

Stop your delirium. how many Us soldiers Russia killed ?no one.

roland

No but militants have been sheltering in us controlled areas and launching attacks on Syrian and Russian forces the Russians want them out as they are causing the war to drag on which is a drag on the Russian economy

khalkha

Big lie there’s no attack from areas held by Us against russia or its allies. So US protect kurds like do russia and assad’s camp in a lot of region especially in north. So how can they launch attack against you ? Militants anti assad never been really supported by Usa .

roland

Are you for real ? Then why has USA media been demonizing Assad from day one of this war

khalkha

Yes with speech but in fact there’s nothing. that’s reality. If Us factly was against bachar’s power do you really think they are impotents to remove him???!!

roland

What world do you live in

khalkha

The world of hypocrits

Kananda

ouch, beig russians were stopped by little yanks?

nu pogodyi!

ruca

I hope you don’t have any spelling bees in the near future.

Tim Williams

KURDS are not throwing rocks and giving the one figure salute to the SAA and Russians like they are to the USA troops … USA must leave SYRIA …no longer welcome by any party …

Dick Von Dast'Ard
Joe Doe

This is pure disrespect. Actually bullying without fears. Putin pleasing policies puts even Russia soldiers at risk.

BMWA1

Good comment

cechas vodobenikov

this is fake news—whenever the cowardly amerikans attempt to block Russian patrols, they merely travel around them in the full view of the US patrols—that do zero, impotently humiliated by their own cowardice and stupidity

Al Balog

Anyone remember the SNES game “Hong Kong 97”? I plan on getting a bootleg cart of that game in the future. There should be a game where the Turkish migrants invade the EU, with Erdogan’s severed head being the final boss. And Assad should be the main hero. Frustrated by the Brussels bureaucrats, Greece’s and Hungary’s governments call on Assad to fight the Turko-Wahhabist migrant invasion. Time to massacre some f*ckin’ 80 million US-Zio head-choppers ?

I really wish that was a real game ?

The attitude of I am American and woman so I must be told doesn’t go down well she she was told to fuck off. End of story. Had she made a comment refuting or arguing I wouldn;t have said a word .

John Wallace

Do you own this site. No well then you have no right to tell me squat.

Natasha

Saif Imam

Lot of people hate the US, I mean a lot. I sure you can read the US history of warfare & Invasion.

Natasha

Saif Imam

Any way John shouldn’t have talked to you like that. There were other ways , he could’ve responded to you. I’m sorry.
