Russia, Turkey And Iran Reinforce Coordination During High Level Summit In Ankara

On September 16th, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani met in Ankara as the guarantors of the Astana Process on the settlement in Syria.

This was the leader’s fifth meeting.

Following the summit, the three leaders released a joint statement. These are the highlights:

  • They reviewed the developments since the last meeting in Sochi on February 14th, 2019, reiterating their determination to enhance coordination;
  • “Emphasized their strong commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic as well as to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. They highlighted that these principles should be universally respected and that no actions, no matter by whom they were undertaken, should undermine them”;
  • Rejected the US recognition of the Golan Heights as Israeli territory and not occupied Syrian territory;
  • “Discussed the situation in the north-east of Syria, emphasized that security and stability in this region can only be achieved on the basis of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and agreed to coordinate their efforts to this end”;
  • In the sense of the previous statement, the leaders refused any “attempts to create new realities on the ground under the pretext of combating terrorism, including illegitimate self-rule initiatives, and expressed their determination to stand against separatist agendas aimed at undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria as well as threatening the national security of neighboring countries.” This is likely towards the US-backed Kurdish groups operating in northeastern Syria.

The next Astana Process meeting will be held in Tehran, Iran’s capital.

The parties agreed on a constitutional committee to be made up of pro-government, opposition and independent members paving the way for speedy talks in Geneva, Putin said.

“It was decided to start the work to form the committee without delay,” President Erdogan added regarding the constitutional committee. “The process of establishing the committee and preparing mechanisms of its work will be held in coordination with the UN.”

Hassan Rouhani said that the leaders hoped elections could take place in Syria in 2020 or 2021. Furthermore, Rouhani called for the withdrawal of American troops and Syria’s territorial integrity, arguing that Syrians should be able to go back to their own homes rather than move to safe zone settlements.

The leaders also agreed to de-escalate the volatile situation in Idlib, the last remaining rebel stronghold in Syria while combatting extremists and protecting civilians.

Erdogan repeated Turkish demands from the United States for a so-called “safe zone” in northeastern Syria along the Turkish border east of the Euphrates River where joint patrols have begun but threatened Turkey would go it alone if its establishment was delayed.

Ankara is also lobbying for a plan to resettle displaced Syrians in Turkey-controlled zones across northern Syria and Erdogan suggested that it could be expanded to Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor.

The Turkish president expressed concern that recent attacks on militants by the Syrian Arab Army risk deepening regional turmoil and pushing a new wave of migrants towards Turkey.

“We are in a period when we need to take more responsibility for peace in Syria, when we (three countries) need to carry more weight,” Turkey’s Tayyip Erdogan said.

In terms of MSM hysteria, Israeli media reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had praised Iran’s participation in Syria’s “civil war.”

The mentioned praise is the following:

“And of course, thanks to our joint efforts, including Iranian efforts, Iran’s significant contribution to the settlement processes in Syria, a lot has been done to eliminate pockets of terrorist resistance and create an effective and, I would say, working mechanism for a political settlement.”

Of course, hysteria is expected, after all according to the MSM narrative, the Syrian conflict is still a “civil war,” and Iran is simply doing the Syrian people a disfavor.

It appears that progress is being made, judging by recent efforts by the Syrian Arab Army, and with Russian support, all of the claims are sound and make sense.

Whether there will be significant progress by the time the 6th meeting in Tehran comes over remains a question. Nonetheless, it’s apparent that the coordination between Iran, Turkey and Russia have become a key factor impacting the situation in Syria, and in the Middle East, in general.

Good, now these 3 men hold the future of the world. They are either save the world or accelerate it towards the nuke war. I honestly quite like my life, so please build more nukes and missiles. At least if things truly happen, it happens pretty quick and ensure total annihilation of the enemy forces.

  • Indeed, well said.

But what a huge job it is trying to allow truth to prevail where great forces do not want it.

  • Zionism = EVIL

Russian and Iranian positions on Syria and wider regional issues are much more aligned now and that is a good omen for the future. At Iranian insistence, Putin agreed on adding the criminal and unacceptable Zionist scum bombing attacks on Syria. Looks like the S-400 may finally be used. The Turkeys just want to send the used and abused Syrians home after failing in their Salafist terrorist campaign for “regime change”.

  • Willing Conscience (The Truths

I suggest SF readers start reading some Turkish news, because as much as it pains me to say it, it’s way more informative and accurate than SF is on a couple of these points.
    …….
-“Emphasized their strong commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic as well as to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. They highlighted that these principles should be universally respected and that no actions, no matter by whom they were undertaken, should undermine them”-.
    ……
Am I the only one who understands exactly what that means, PURE EVIL, that’s what that really means.
It means that UN resolution 2254 is being made a priority now, and when they say no one will be allowed to do anything at all to impede the resolution being implemented, they’re only referring to the SAA and Assad continually breaking the ceasefires, not the rebels/terrorists as most of you will assume.
Most of you will have no idea what UN resolution 2254 is or what it means for Syria, but I suggest you have a real good look at it and try to understand what it really means for Syria and Assad, and pay attention to who the 150 member committee that will rewrite the Syrian constitution will be drawn from, only 50 of them will come from Assad legally elected government, all the rest will come from opposition groups like the NFL, FSA, SLF, [terrorists] and the US SDF [puppets].
Assad doesn’t want a bar of resolution 2254 and a new Syrian constitution, and why would he, he may as well go slice his own throat now as agree to it, it would mean the end for him and everything he’s fought for, and yet his 2 biggest allies are the ones fighting the hardest to help Erdogan get it enforced,
Iran and Russia are both traitors to Assad. Everyone thinks Iran stationed it’s soldiers in Tell Rif At to assist the SAA in any military actions that were predicted to take place, but they weren’t stationed there for that at all, they’re only there to stop the ALF Kurds that Assad likes, from crossing from Assad’s territory into Turkish held territory and attacking Turkish interests, that’s why they’re there, to protect the Turks and their proxies.
    ……..
-“Discussed the situation in the north-east of Syria, emphasized that security and stability in this region can only be achieved on the basis of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and agreed to coordinate their efforts to this end”-.
    ………
Again I suggest reading some Turkish news to understand this fully, Erdogan’s promised to keep his boys in line in Idlib [comply to resolution 2254] but only if Iran and Russia support him when he tries to enforce his 60km safe zone in SDF held territory, he says if he’s allowed to have Ar Rakah and northern Deir ez Zor he’ll be able to rehouse millions of refugees there.
But Assad doesn’t want him to rehouse refugees there and neither does Trump, so once again it seems they have something else in common, neither of them want Erdogan’s refugees camped out on the Syrian/Turkish border, and they both want Erdogan out of Syria and out of political office altogether, which is the exact opposite of what both Iran and Russia want now.

Especialy: Ahval news, Turkish digest and Turkish minute wich are no regime media and less subjective.

      • Willing Conscience (The Truths

I’m afraid after Erdogan locked up that Turkish journalist for 5 years just for criticising his military strategy in Syria, some of those anti government media sites in Turkey may be a little hesitant to tell us the complete truth for fear the same thing will happen to them, but thanks for the tip I’ll definitely check them out.

    • Boycott-Israel!

Hi guys, I know it’s funny, but let me say this. To my knowledge, this Syrian conflict is not an ordinary war. This is the beginning of great end-times war aka Armageddon aka Al Malhama Al Kubra aka World War Three aka Nuclear War.

This Syrian war will not end the way we, normal guy want it to end. Assad will get his territory back, Erdogan will get all refugees out of Turkey, Iran will stay sovereign despite sanctions and threats, and Putin will leave legacy as the one who accomplished many great things in Syrian war, everyone is going home happily!

No guys, no, this is the war that marked the end of Anglo-Zionist-Empire. However, I do believe it’s still many years ahead, idk how long but I hope we still have some windows of peace to fully repent. Thanks.

      • Willing Conscience (The Truths

Gee you only seen one war in Syria but I saw 4 wars happening,
1, civil uprising caused by Saudi/US/Israelis, purpose to depose Assad and install sympathetic leader, result, use Saudi/Qatari gas/oil to destroy Russia’s hold over the EU oil/gas marketshare, all predictions were for a minimum 30% reduction of total export revenue for Russia. But that war ended in June last year, first Jordan and the Arab league [except for Qatar and the Saudis] said Assad could remain in power, then the US and Israel also said he could remain in power, and now even the Saudis are saying he can stay in power too, and they’re even wanting to re-establish diplomatic ties with Syria as well, so the first war ended in June last year.
2, The second war started just after June last year, and it was started when Erdogan refused to comply to the coalition’s decision to allow Assad to remain in power, Erdogan should have pulled his forces out then but he didn’t, and because he didn’t Trump didn’t pull his forces out either, this second war is still ongoing now but could’ve and should’ve ended already, or at least in the next week or two if Putin hadn’t agreed to enforce Erdogan’s ceasefire demand. This second war is now going into a new phase, it’s putting Erdogan’s interests above Assad and Syria’s interests, and now pitting Iran, Russia, and Turkey against Syria, resolution 2254 and a new Syrian constitution are what they all want now except for Assad, he doesn’t want it at all and is vehemently opposed to the idea.
3, Then we have the Iranian Israeli war as well, that started just after Iran launched their new MR ballistic missiles into Iraq and Syria attacking Isis targets there, and although the targets were actually Isis fighters, and Iran was presumed to be launching retaliatory strikes against them as a result of Isis attacks in Iran itself, the real purpose of that strike was a demonstration of Iran’s new capabilities. The Isis fighters they struck in Syria were located a mere 5 km away from where SDF and US special forces were operating, and that showed the Israelis just how good the new Iranian missiles were, and also started an escalation of deterrence measures by the Israelis, which we recognize as strikes against Iranian assets in Syria and Iraq. This war is the one that worries me the most now, this one could blow right out of control, the only thing I think that will save Iran now is if they quickly develop a nuclear warhead or two, until they do that I’m fearful the US and Israel may just do what they’ve been threatening to do, wipe them off the face of the planet. Sadly the Iranians are damned if they do and damned if they don’t, without nuclear weapons they’re vulnerable to the US and Israeli actions, but if they do try to develop them they’re also making themselves vulnerable, I wouldn’t like to be in their shoes so I wish them the best of luck.
4, Then we have the geopolitical war between the west and Russia, this is the war that upsets me the most, in this war Putin’s trying his hardest to pull Turkey away from NATO and US, but he’s sacrificing Assad’s and Syria’s interests in the process, ceasefires and UN resolutions only help Erdogan’s ambitions and harm Assad’s cause, I can’t condone Putin’s actions against his Syrian ally when he does that. So in short anything and everything good that Putin’s done for Assad and Syria over the years, has now been tarnished by the immeasurable harm his done over the last 15 months. If Putin hadn’t helped Erdogan after June last year, Assad would have moved straight into Idlib and wiped out all the rebels/terrorists in a month or less, but Putin wouldn’t let him and still wont let him, traitorous, using, unloyal, BASTARD that he is.

“this is the war that marked the end of Anglo-Zionist-Empire”
I thought that was what happened when China and Russia created bric’s and the new independent monetary fund, and also got OPEC chanting the Russian mantra of “lower production higher prices”. China’s right next door to Russia and buys heaps of cheap oil and gas from them at prices better than anybody else in the whole world can get, and also as much as it wants and could ever possibly need, yet it’s still buying up or partnering up with as many other sources as they can find, between Russia and China they control nearly half the worlds energy supplies, if you also add OPEC into the picture, they actually control most of the worlds energy supplies, and countries like Venezuela like doing things Putin’s way now and won’t change back to the old Zionist/US ways of doing business [unless they’re forced to]. So with the Bric’s nations now doing business without the Petrodollar [US income], China and Russia controlling a fair chunk of the world gas and oil supply market, the Chinese/Russian world monetary fund dishing out heaps of cheap loans to any poor developing nation that wants one [which deprives the Zionist controlled IMF from making money out of their terribly unfair loans], I’d say the Anglo-Zionist-Empire was beaten long ago, 10 years ago maybe, but empires take a long time to whither away and die, so maybe it still looks like they’re in control, but I’m pretty sure they’re not anymore.

        • Boycott-Israel!

No, you don’t get it do you? What I am trying to say is that, the war in Syria WILL NEVER END the way WW2, Vietnam, korea, Iran-Iraq, Iraq, Yugoslav, Chechen all ended. It is an escalation towards the last war in the history of mankind, one way ticket, because history must end, and this is where it ends, the Sham (greater Syria, Levant). And these men, what they do is buying some times for us all to realize all that we have done in life, so that we can correct what is wrong.

Also, If you ask me where I get it from? that is a prophecy in the Bible and the Koran, and we are living in the last era before the nuclear war. Because only nuke war that can bring total collapse of the empire. Whether we like it or not, well it happens anyway.

          • Willing Conscience (The Truths

I am praying to God you’re wrong about a nuclear war starting in Syria, l was sort of hoping if we do have to have a nuclear war it would start and finish in Israel.

          • Boycott-Israel!

No man, “Syria is pretext” for nuke escalation, but that doesn’t mean “it would happen there”.

          • Willing Conscience (The Truths

That’s good to know, I thought you meant Syria was doomed.

    • Robert Ferrin

The news from/in Turkey is no different than the news in/from any other country, 99% propaganda for the dumbed down mass’s.!!!

      • Willing Conscience (The Truths

That’s true, but this story by SF is even worse, it’s totally deceptive as well as totally confusing for anyone who hasn’t been following current events carefully.
I have only one rule to work out what the truth is, who’s happy about it and who isn’t, and since the Russians, Iranians and the Turks are all extremely happy about resolution 2254 and the new constitution and Assad isn’t, It’s obvious to me what’s really going on.

        • Robert Ferrin

The greater truth is follow the money, for propaganda has a very strange way of concealing the truth, and unless anyone know’s the faces and names of the players how can they know what truth is or isn’t.Poor pratice to try and second guess the players for a rule it only makes a fool out of those truth seekers.!!

          • Willing Conscience (The Truths

But when the truth reveals itself and the facts are indisputable, some people still continue to believe what they want to believe, so I can no longer condemn the morons in the western world who blindly believed Assad was killing his own people with chemical weapons, they’re no dumber or less bigoted than most of the morons that read SF, they’re all just a bunch of mindless sheep that believe whatever their leaders tell them, and the only difference between the two lots of sheep is the colours their wool, nothing else.
And we already know the names of all the players, and we also know what at least 3 of the players really want too, Erdogan wants to stay in Syria and control the areas near his border, and both Assad and the Arab league want him out altogether, and the only person stopping Assad from kicking Erdogan out now is Putin himself, which means he’s actually helping Erdogan and harming Assad now, but some people are still claiming Putin’s actually helping Assad and the SAA, with friends like that who needs enemies.

          • Robert Ferrin

I think you just shot any creditability that you may have had and reveled that like so many your simply a troll working for the troll farm..Good day sir have a nice day.!!

          • Willing Conscience (The Truths

Telling the truth isn’t trolling, hopefully you change your mind about my unpopular observations and assertions as more information is revealed.
I am aware both my popularity and credibility are non existent on SF but I’m afraid my anger won’t allow me to stay silent, there’s way too much to be angry about.
Good day to you too Sir.

I particularly like the passage about the northeast syria and the need to respect the syrian sovereignty, which spells trouble for the unhinged states of A but not so much for the turks that view the kurds as an existential threat to turkey and will join forces with this alliance in order to kick the kurds into submission and in the process, scuttling the effeminate americans, smelling of bubblegum, dior au sauvage and crying themselves to bed every nigh and dreaming of kellog’s cornflakes and high fat milk.

  • Johan

Ok the result: all three have their own different agendas and together they agree to do what they always did regardless what the others do. But they claim to do what UNO wants them to do, despite that all of them are proven liars, cheaters, despoots, traitors and ayatollahs among each others and to the rest of the world
