Putin Warns Rivals Attempt To Exploit Effects Of Covid-19 Outbreak, Global Crisis To Destabilize Russia

ILLUSTRATIVE IMAGE

On Sunday, Russian media published a series of comments by President Vladimir Putin that allows to get a closer look at the vision of the current international situation of the Russian Leadership and its reaction towards foreign attempts to meddle in Russia’s sovereign affairs.

RT reported the following:

Foreign powers are trying to weaponise frustration over falling living standards due to to the Covid-19 pandemic to stir up protests in support of jailed Russian opposition figure Alexey Navalny, President Vladimir Putin has said.

With almost every major country in recession, people all over the world have been growing increasingly weary and frustrated with the toll the coronavirus pandemic has taken on living standards, and Russia is no exception, Putin said in an extensive interview with Russian media published on Sunday.

He added that it’s only normal to pin the blame on the authorities for all the woes the population might face in times of crisis such as the current one, but Moscow’s opponents “try to exploit” this sentiment to spite the Russian government.

“That’s what they did! Of course they would. That’s what they had counted on,” Putin said.

The Russian leader argued that “ambitious, power-hungry” people like Navalny are being cultivated and used by foreign powers to undermine and contain Russia. “We have had a lot of success, and it annoys them. That’s where the containment policy, including in the economy, comes from.”

Supporters of Navalny, whose group investigating corruption has sought funding from foreign states, held large rallies on January 23 and 31, demanding his release from prison. The gatherings, which were banned under Covid-19 prevention regulations, led to clashes with police. Thousands of people were detained, and some are now being prosecuted for breaking health protocols, and attending unauthorized protests.

Earlier this month, Navalny was found guilty of breaking the conditions of a suspended sentence, which dated back to a 2014 fraud conviction. He was sentenced to three-and-a-half years behind bars, minus 10 months already served. The activist argues that all of the charges are politically motivated.

In January, Navalny returned to Moscow from Germany, where he had spent several months recuperating from what his supporters and some international organizations say was a poisoning attack. The German government said that traces of the Novichok nerve agent were found in Navalny’s system. The activist himself accuses the Russian secret services of trying to assassinate him. The Kremlin, however, has denied any involvement in the case.

It has always been like this, Westerners go to fight the Russian Threat, get their bones broken, and after a while they come back to the charge and still find themselves with broken bones, they have two problems, one is poor memory and the other is that they are a bit masochistic and like to get kicked, that’s all.

Slowest death, that means longer than Roman empire.

500 years from the first sign of weakness.

Supreme Blyat

And the first sign of weakness was Kartagine. So a bit more than 500. Also for usa, first sign was losing space competition with USSR satellites.

HB_Norica

You mean the way US sanctions got Maduro out of power in Venezuela? or the way 40 years of sanctions on Iran caused the regime change the USA promised? How about the sanctions that were supposed to get Saddam out of power peacefully after the gulf war … or the sanctions imposed since the 1950 on north korea?

Just when exactly did US economic sanctions on anyone force the change the USA was looking to achieve?

occupybacon

Maduro doesn’t have in Caracas 100 billionaires with fat bank accounts in Switzerland and vast luxury properties in Monaco and other luxury Mediteran resorts.

cechas vodobenikov

bacon live in aguas blancas ghetto—Cali, Colombia….bacon buy perico in juanchito—-believes she is in Monaco

HB_Norica

So Maduro had “100 billionaires with fat bank accounts in Switzerland and vast luxury properties in Monaco and other luxury Mediteran resorts.” sanctions would have worked, Guado would be in power and US oil companies would be in control of Venezuelan oil fields?

How does that work?

Supreme Blyat

Take a guess ;)

HB_Norica

My ‘guess” is that blockades…. which is what economic sanctions really are …. only work if you can completely seal off a country and literally starve it into submission.

Like the allies found with the terror bombing campaign against cities during WW2 and the USA learned in Vietnam and Korea …. the theory that these kind of actions against civilian demoralize them is bullshit …. it actually galvanizes them to fight harder.

Supreme Blyat

Not really. They are meant for the rich class to lobby the government, the poor masses very rarely change anything.

HB_Norica

I understand how sanctions are supposed to work …. it’s just that they rarely work the way they are supposed to. Like most well laid plans they tend to fall apart upon contact with the enemy.

Supreme Blyat

Other than Cuba, Iran, North Korea – sanctions were limited. They couldn’t fully sanction Russia because they wouldn’t have anything left to negotiate after and full chaos in Russia is not something the World needs. Main trade partner of Venezuela is still the US.

HB_Norica

“They couldn’t fully sanction Russia because they wouldn’t have anything left to negotiate after and full chaos in Russia is not something the World needs”

Nope. They (USA, GB, France) sanctioned and invaded Russia in 1917. The USSR was completely cut off from trade with the west until 1933 and even then it was extremely limited .. the only reason Roosevelt recognized the USSR was so failing US companies could make money building up Soviet industry during the depression.

This is in fact how the Koch brothers got their wealth … granddaddy koch built oil refineries for the nazi’s and Stalin during the depression.

The USSR was under some sort of sanction/trade restriction for it’s entire existence. At it’s highest point in 1988 Soviet trade with the west was only 4% of it’s trading economy.

Supreme Blyat

I meant chaos in Russia is dangerous for the world, because of thousands of nukes. Soviet Union could still trade with the rest of the world. And now there is Mother China. Russia has the resources, China has the capital. Mr Lavrov shouldn’t act like a baby.

HB_Norica

“Soviet Union could still trade with the rest of the world.”

Simply not true. The USA has …. in their own words ….. “severe sanctions” on the USSR from it’s inception to it’s collapse. They were suspended briefly during WW2 but were reintroduced in 1948.

China likewise was under sanction as were every other communist nation during the cold war and in fact right up to this day.

https://www.americanforeignrelations.com/E-N/Embargoes-and-Sanctions-Cold-war-sanctions.html

Supreme Blyat

Are you born yesterday? USSR was as powerful as USA. The sanctions were more on paper, they couldn’t be enforced.

HB_Norica

“Are you born yesterday?”

I would ask you the same question …. you seem to think the USSR’s history begins after WW2 when the USSR was indeed a military superpower but by no means an economic superpower.

Do you have any idea how many people starved in the USSR during the 1920’s and 30’s directly due to sanctions let alone the direct warfare funded by the west.

After WW2 the Soviets were able to trade within the communist bloc …. the communist bloc didn’t exist until after WW2 …. until then they were alone.

Americans to this day like to brag about how the bankrupted the USSR … THAT was their policy right up until the bitter end of the USSR … starve the fucking commies into submission.

Supreme Blyat

Wait, so Russians starved in 30 because of the Western sanctons? It was an agrarian society. How did sanctions affected the Russian peasant in 30s?

Tommy Jensen

Russia enjoys navalny—he is a cartoon to entertain amerikan politicians and distract their peasants from their transgender military ,2.3 million prison population, 30+% mentally ill diagnosed population, ubiquitous extreme poverty/homelessness, antifas, BLM arsonists

We are also warning. Putin should not think he is the only one who can issue warnings. We also warn everybody!

RichardD

Navalny is a Jew puppet. Moving ahead with winning the Syrian war would be a good way to counter the vermin Jew.

Rodney Loder

Comrade Stalin turned the tide of history, but how did he do that?. Answer WW2, simple as that.

Sure David Irving’s interpretation of the record is accurate and unique in so far as Stalin saw Jews as a threat better placed in Israel, anywhere but not here in Russia thought Comrade Stalin.

As it turned out Jew maggots were given the power of God, Stalin had no way of knowing that would happen, so Stalin was really not wrong, just behind the times.
