Prisoner Exchange Between Russia And Ukraine And Its Consequences

Exchange of pows

On June 29, Russia and Ukraine exchanged prisoners of war. The exchange took place near the village of Kamenskoye, about 46 kilometers from Zaporizhzhya. Itwas carried out at the standard rate of one person per person(144 to 144).

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the largest exchange of prisoners of war took place. Moscow, in particular, handed over to Kiev 95 servicemen who surrendered on the territory of the Mariupol Azovstal plant, including 43 soldiers of the Azov regiment.

During the exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine, 47 citizens of the DPR were released, the DPR ombudsman said.

Among the exchanged Russian POWs there were reportedly several officers and two pilots as the Ukrainian Armed Forces were extremely reluctant to give up military personnel with combat experience.

The exchange of captured Russian soldiers for fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was carried out on the direct instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin,  the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, claimed on June 30.

One of the Ukrainian channels showed the exchange process, filming Ukrainian POWs expressing their positive emotions.

The both sides claimed that the exchanged servicemen were severely wounded and needed medical treatment.

However, in fact, most of Russian and Ukrainian fighters did not appear to be mutilated.

Comments of the military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces who returned home as a result of the exchange:

The exchange of members of Ukrainian Nazi units by the Russian military turned into a political failure of the Russian side.

Moscow had previously declared that militants of Ukrainian Azov regiment and other Nazi formation will not be treated like the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to various claims by the Russian military, they should face trial and would not be exchanged.

However, some of them were exchanged.

In recent months, it has become clear that the Russian military and political command has decided to divide the Ukrainian Nazis into “good” and “bad”, which has had a significant negative impact on the morale of Russian servicemen fighting Ukrainian nationalists on the front line, as well as shaken the level of support for the Russian military operation among the civilian population.

Thus, the stated goals of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, which included “denazification”, are no longer being respected.

The pow exchange shows that despite the harsh battles, Russia and Ukraine still have the dignity to wage war according to certain rules. Moreover, the exchange went fairly and was not disrupted.

According to the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the total number of Ukrainian POWa is more than 6 thousand servicemen. According to Ukrainian statements issued at the beginning of May, the Kiev military had up to 500-600 more Russian POWs in captivity, some of them were servicemen of the DPR and LPR. Judging by the latest exchanges, more than a third of this number has already been exchanged in the last couple of months.

Russia only has nazi POw, according a SF who should Russia exchange with? it was inevitable in order to bring home Russian soldiers.

Russia is Great

Bring your boys home, is always important in the mind of a good commander..

They are all nazis because their commandment are nazis, but there are 1) pure nazis as “Azov” and other nazi battalions created in 2014 (20-25 thousand fighters in total); 2) common brigades of AFU; 3) territorial defense; 4) mobilized reservists, cannon fodder. The first category consisted from nazis almost at 100%. Other categories filled with less nazis. Reservists are ordinary civilians, some of them are brainwashed, but most of them have no will to fight at all, especially for nazist ideals.

Agreed, Russia has a plan, Putin is very calculated in every way. So far Russia has been on point, there is no reason to doubt their prisoner swap.

Agree. Bad movement for the russians. That indicate mmore in direction of a large scale war politic theater played by the same actors in different sides, something what some peoples here mentioned from beginning. And that is what I didn’t want to hear at all because I put my trust into Russia as the LAST mohican of the free world.

What you just wrote is EXACTLY what truly matters. Do you think Russia and Putin are going to release azov criminals who killed civilians in the Donbass?? Of course not. These prisoners have been fully interrogated and the Russians know exactly who to release. People over analyze everything Russia does meanwhile Russia is annihilating the Ukrainian proxy army, bankrupting western Europe and making steady gains while suffering very low to almost no casualties. Everything is going according to plan.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine …I dont believe this ukrop propaganda.Maybe is true but i dont believe nothing from cia morons

I am sure you trusted in Gorbatschow and Jelzin too?? ;-) fucking traitors and working against Russia like Putin – the wolds biggest military power is happy when they are able to kill 19 terrorist in Syria – what a success, unbelievable ;-) never saw a better army, never saw a better war ;-) and Erdogan is allowed to piss Putin on his head ;-) what a big country, what a big president, what a big army ;-)

7even-N-6

There is something else people are forgetting to keep in mind, a lot of the Ukrainian soldiers that surrendered to the Russians will soon be absorbed into the Russian military once Russia completely takes all of Ukraine. Putin is returning the dirt bags and keeping the good soldiers that can be reeducated. A lot of Ukrainian soldiers have already defected to Russia. There are over 11 million Ukrainians living in Russia by the way.

If Ukraine decides start using terrorist cells in Russia, wouldn’t it make it easier for them since there’s 11 million of them in Russia? I’m not one to judge them all or discriminate against good and bad Ukrainians, but surely there’s quite a few terrorist cells within the millions of Ukrainians who got into Russia by acting as civilians fleeing war

There are no ethnic ukrainians, ethnic canadians, ethnic americans or brazilians and argentinians. All ukrainians are ethnic russians actually, if they are not greeks, bulgarians, armenians, jews or crimean tatars. Census in 1897 shows no ukrainians. There were russians: 1) so called grand russians (velikoros), 2) minor russians (Malorossia, maloros) and 3) white russians (belorus). This separation was caused by historic process, White Russia (Belorussia, Minsk) and Minor Russia (Malorussia, Kiev) were under rule of Poland for long time. Kiev was returned in 17th century, Minsk ~100 years later, there are no such ethnic identities as grand, minor and white russians, because there is no difference between people in Belgorod and Harkov (less 100 km between cities) or Kiev, Rostov and Donetsk. Forced ukrainization has started in 20th century, you can’t find such state as Ukraine on political map before 1917 year. The Ukraine is geographical term for borderlands in Russia and Poland. If you research who has founded such cities as Chernigov, Polotsk, Minsk, Lvov, you’ll know what ethnos lives here. Word “russian” still exists in some local toponyms, find Rava-Russkaya near border with Poland, foundation date — 1455. When Lvov region was in Poland (till 1939) it was named as województwo Ruskie, i.e. Russian province (of Poland). So all 11 millions of “ukrainians” (it’s too much by the way) are not so ukrainian. The Ukraine as term is close to Siberia. You are not a siberian, if you lives somewhere else long time.

Pamfil Military Academy

Absolutely CORRECT.

thoughtful

I thought Russian were Ukrainians, well loads of them!

helen

You’re right in general, but Ukrainians as a nation (not genetics) do exist, in the same way that Slav “Macedonians” do exist even though they’re Bulgarians historically/genetically and Macedonia was always a geographical term. In the 20th century the “Macedonian nation” was created, same way as the Ukrainian nation was created. History can’t be turned back.

Disinfo

With Russia holding 6000 prisoners, they have a greater opportunity to pick and choose who they release. I suspect each of those 144 were considered to be a liability to the Ukrainian military if returned, lol! I wouldn’t read much into the 44 Azov fascists being released, no doubt they were also hardened criminals that they know will commit many crimes against their own people once they are free. Now, notice the 10-1 discrepancy in prisoners; using the current math that NATO and the EU are using to calculated casualties, times each by 10. Basically, Ukranian military casualties would be somewhere in the 60k region and Russian casualties would be in the 5-6k range.

Interesting fact: No mercenaries were released.

This post was written by a person far from Russian thinking, this is purely American thinking!! Russians first of all think about their soldiers. From this, the maral spirit cannot fall, they will think we will finish them anyway, if only to save the guys! This will add confidence that they will not be abandoned in trouble !! And the Azov people were definitely filtered out, they gave away those who were not needed, who were not very interesting! their life is not worth the Russian guys! Russians do not abandon their own!

This is what russians say quite often. So, if you are not a russian, you are a Putin’s agent! Nice to meet you. I heard about you (agents of uncle Vova) a lot, but didn’t met one.

Ye, right. But we all thought that those nazis were so bad that it was the reason Russia entered the war in the first place. But it seems it was because russians think about their soldiers. This makes sense.

HeroComesHome

Who ever wrote this news article was using his dick/pussy to reason the harsh truth.. It’s about saving the lives of those fighting and dying on the front lines…

The Russian Defense Ministry commented on the swap on Thursday, revealing it had been authorized personally by President Vladimir Putin. The exchange was “organized and carried out on the direct orders of the supreme commander of the Russia Armed Forces,” said Defense Ministry spokesman, General Igor Konashenkov.

Safeguarding “the lives, the health, the release of our servicemen, the fighters of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, who make up the majority of those returned, is the most important task,” he stressed…..

They will face justice in it’s due time.. MAKTUK

Антон

Wait till the end. Not all nazis were denazified in 1945, that’s why we need to finish it now. I’m talking not about escaped nazis (to Canada, the Us or Argentina), but about domestic nazi collaborators, traitors and butchers from death camps. Not all of them were punished properly, some were release after several years in prison, some weren’t even trialed. Ukrainization wasn’t stopped. General Sudoplatov sent Stashinskiy to kill Bandera in Munich, but Hrushyov released banderites from prisons and allowed them to have full civil rights. I think such people shouldn’t have citizenship.

They set up PP and promoted abortions. The NAZIS and the eugenicist birth control abortion and healthcare aka patentable rockefelleresque meds, they were all interlinked. Also the LGBT movement is eugenicist. Families are BETTER for not using contraception, NFP works and we aint supposed to be shagging every day, all of the time.

Pamfil Military Academy

Absolutely correct. Very bad movement of Putin. And this will be seen in the next military war context. Russians will gradually start increasing the casualties INSTEAD to keep the actual pace of DECREASING it. Military Academy say this, and better to watch this happening, as other countless subjects proved. One of the GREATEST mistake of the war for the russians, UNLESS all thing is a well orchestrated theater.

I agree with this article – Russia looking weak. Azov is Azov. No excuse for exchanging them. They’ve gone back on their word. Nick

Its about trying to save and return Russian military personnel. If I was Putin I’d have done the same thing, sometimes you have to make hard decisions, even if it goes against your original plans. The reality is that in any conflict or wars, regardless of who is involved, plans can change as well. You have to adapt to the current reality and situation.

if your life is swapped for asov,or your family memberwould you sacrifice you or your family/wife?? Now go tell them you think 1 pos nazi is worth more than them.Dumbass troll. Russia has 6000 pows, dpr lpr has 15000.

Pamfil Military Academy

Military Academy say this: 75% are going to be a BULLSHIT DEAL, because Putin don’t want to take Odessa and deprive Ukropizdan of access to Black Sea, he don’t want to take Kharkov, or even Mikolaiv. All is a POKER game where Putin accumulate strong cards and so game tokens to replace at the EXIT with real values. And the russian people will be again fooled by the leaders and they will met again the NAZI threat 50 years onward by now, a lot more dangerous and stronger, long after Putin will be only a footnote on Wiki. I told you guys from beginning, do you remember ? A Zirinovski figure would have been a much more right for the Russia future interests. Is this strange that Zirinovski died from Covid 3 days before the start of this war ? Or that he 1 month prior of this, specified the EXACT (only 2 day tolerance) date of the russian invasion, in russian parliament DUMA ? Because the next NAZI threat on Russia will split the country forever, just like the globalist deep state junta wanted.

I think Putin only wants the goals he stated at the very beginning (but obviously the new territorries in Kherson and Zappo will have to be ceded by Ukraine too, because the Russians have paid too high a prize to give them back), therefore if Ukraine capitulates soon, Russia won’t take Odessa. I’ve also seen the “Novorossiya” map (presented by a Duma member, I think) which is a terrible idea because this kind of border is impossible to provide security. The border must definitely be a natural border, meaning the Dneiper river.

Russia is gonna snatch defeat from the jaws of victory like the last war and the Minsk Agreement. I don’t like what is happened, but this is not important question. Let’s grade by importance. 1. Strategic level. Whether Kiev regime will exist; what borders will be in future; methods of de-nazification and de-ukrainization, how full it will be. 2.Operational level. How many time is needed to complete goals, make the process faster or slower; how much resources to spent; possibility of mobilization. 3. Tactic level. What targets to strike, how many missiles to use; where to advance and where to retreat, if needed; who to exchange and how much; how to restore all the ruined; to shot nazi POWs or to hang them up.

Exchange of POWs is tactic level that doesn’t affect strategy. Release all POWs and this will change almost nothing, because the number of POWs is near 10000, number of dead ukrofighters is near 50000. So, as I said before, I don’t like when nazis go free, but this is not the question to rip off hair on my head. All of them will die sooner or later, it’s just the matter of time, there is no tragedy at all.

POW exchanges are in everyone’s best interests, specifically the boys who were injured and their families. Russians who were victims of torture will share their stories and increase the resolve of other troops and the Azov punks have seen the human side of a people they had been brainwashed to hate by Washington swamp propaganda and put their voices against the Zelensky Zionist who is intentionally trying to get them killed so they can offer up their bodies to Israeli organ harvesters. Ukraine was not offered a seat at the globalist dinner table, they’re what’s for dinner in the globalist mindset. One day the rest of Ukraine will see the truth and oust the Zionist parasites from their lives forever and return to an honest money system divorced from Rothschild counterfieting fraud. We can only pray, but it is a positive outcome nevertheless.

And why is there no Pushilin message? He stated that privates from Azov and Aidar were exchanged, they were checked, there is no evidence of their crimes. There was a Pushilin message, he said that Ukrainians absolutely insisted that Azov should be among the prisoners in order for the exchange to go forward, so they chose those seriously wounded and not accused of a war crime by someone.

“The exchange of members of Ukrainian Nazi units by the Russian military turned into a political failure of the Russian side.”

No shit rtd, one of the main points of this war was to kill off Nazis and Putin use that a lot – most of them now just go to the West side of Ukraine and work closely with CIA soldiers in Ukraine.

For anyone who says or believes it was a good move, it wasn’t – POWs will be dealt with at the END of the War and Putin/Russia blame these Nazis for the DEATH of Russian-Ukrainian LPR/DPR for the last 8 years.

What is a cause more great than preserve life in a times of hardship and turmoil. Jews and Anglos do not reason like that because many of them are incarnated demons and not humans at all. Putin left all Russian supporters back around Kiew and they were killed from Nazis afterwards.. that is what happens if you trust in Putin’s promises — he is pissing on the heads of all supporters, he is breaking all his promises and announcements, he sends back all Nazis to Ukraine again for next killing actions agains kids and babies in Donezk, and he will never attack any decision centers because he betrays you and all the others who believe in him – because he is a TRAITOR!!!!

jerrydrakejr

There are still many, many armed Nazis in Ukraine. With the Russians insisting that the Ukrainian Nazis could only expect death on the battlefield or death in the camp, the Russians got a highly motivated and committed opponent who knows that the guns never lay down and never surrender, and that is not good for the Russians – it costs too much! In this way, although there are big consequences due to such a decision, it is very profitable in the long run, because those Nazis will rather surrender than lose their heads in battle – they are aware that there is hope for them too!

If I’m reading the article correctly there is a ratio of more than 10 Russian held prisoners to 1 prisoner held by the Ukrainians (6000 v’s 500).

I wonder does the casualty rate follow a similar trend (i.e. 10 Ukrainian soldier deaths to 1 Russian/DPR/LPR deaths?

I suspect the rate is lower. Maybe 5 to 1. But even that is an enormous attrition rate for the Ukrainians.
