On September 22, the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) launched a security operation against ISIS cells in the northern countryside of the city of Tal Afar in northwestern Iraq. The field reporter of the PMU media wing said that the villages of Misht al-Khanzir, al-Suayiyah and Tuyuat were cleared as a result of the operation.

“The security operation was launched after receiving information about movements of ISIS elements in these areas,” the PMU’s reporter added.

Earlier, the 53rd Brigade of the PMU carried out a similar security operation to clear several mountains and valleys in the southern Tal Afar countryside. Abu Huraira, commander of the 53rd Brigade, told the PMU media wing that two ISIS fighters were killed and two others were injured in the course of the operation.

The Iraqi military and the PMU liberated the region of Tal Afar last year after a fierce battle with ISIS. Back then, many terrorists managed to escape from the region among displaced civilians. These elements are now trying to reorganize themselves and launch attacks on Iraqi government forces.

I imagine that the PMU is a confederation of pro-Assad militias? Either way, one can imagine why Europe has problems with their refugees when many incidents like this happen with soldiers from all sides.

    • Ronald

Assad is governing in Syria, the PMU are in Iraq.
Europe has problems, because like yourself, they have no idea of who is friend or foe.

    • Sinbad2

You imagine this, and you imagine that, because you can’t face reality.

    • Ricky Miller

You’ve been napping too long on a bed of coins and crowns, I think. This article is about Iraqi Shia militias who support the Iraqi government currently led by failed Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi. They are engaged, as stated in the article, in combat operations against ISIS remnants inside Iraq, a country lying next to Syria on Syria’s Eastern border. Hence they have little to do with President Assad or Syrian refugee flows to Turkey or beyond Turkey, towards Europe.

      • FlorianGeyer

As you say, Smaug has been sleeping on the job and when his controllers woke him he babbled away with an old Zionist narrative :)

      • Brad Isherwood

        Ya….Failed Bugdud gov,
        Gee….How’d that happen?

Moqtada al Sadr of South Iraq is against the Shia PMU,….and Assad,
        WTF!
        Ya…stinky fish for sure.
Moqtada al Sadr is party with MBS of Saudi Arabia,
        WTF!

Evilib province in Syria is now Saudi /Muslim Brotherhood safe zone with Erdogan Caliphate lite watching over them.
Why can’t Muslims in the Mid East recognize they are being played,
        Genocided?

        • Ricky Miller

Al-Sadr is a grandstander who wants leverage over other Shia power centers. To his credit he’s consistent in that he wants no U.S. basing or passage through Iraq either. As for his Assad hatred I believe it flows from Al-Sadr’s extreme Shia beliefs that hold that Alawites are not true Shia. These doctrinal issues are confusing to say the least and I don’t dwell on them or care much. It’s like sitting Southern Baptists and Catholics down together here in the USA to talk about the Virgin Mary. All kinds of hellish chaos ensues…

As far as why they can’t see that they’re being divided and conquered I don’t know. We often don’t see the blowback coming from our ignorant choices and lifestyle. The Tlaxcalans helped the Spanish in their invasion and sacking of Tenochtitlan. What did they get in the end? Widespread death and disease, enslavement and servitude of the survivors, and infamy. When you betray your brother, despite your differences, you often betray yourself. Here’s looking at you Jordan. Don’t you hear your little Hashemite clocks ticking? Inbound blowback. The Jihadi street gangs hate you just as much, are now awash in Western weapons, and are about to have a bunch of time on their hands, sulking. Tick, tock…

You know your History Ricky…..High Fives!

            Jordan and an original Insurgency…
If that occured…it’s checkmate on Israel.

            If**…Israel attacks Hezbollah,
It could be counter move into Northern Israel via ATGM teams,
60 IDF tanks taken out….1200 dead in mere days.
SAA over runs stolen Golan in 2 days..
IDF could not get up north as road net were burning tanks.
Hezbollah missiles rain south as far as Gay Tel Aviv.
            Israel’s public cave…
            Cease Fire…
            Hezbollah withdraws in Victory,
Syria has All the Golan back.

This can happen. ..if Israel attacks Hezbollah : )

Did you really expected the truth from the Israelis?

Truth is the first victim of war, they say, anyway.
We need to see a show of force by Russia by actions not words.
Yes, Russia has achieved a lot in Syria by keeping a cool head but maybe it is time to adjust some tactics here.

      • Merijn

Putin’s plan is to prevent War at all cost…. and take the casualties of War as part of the Battle….Time is on his Side for that matter…and Western Chickenshit ain’t going to start a War anyway… they want Russia to start, to get sum Support back at Home…because at the moment they have NONE…

“Truth is the first Victim of War”
We Had Decades of Peace in the West…and Nothing but Lies

    • FlorianGeyer

I would expect nothing else but lies from the Israeli government Merijn.

The following link gives a history spanning many many decades of Jewish behaviour and particularly the actions of Jews who we now know as the Warburg’s.

The association of the Bush clan with deception during 20th/21st centuries during the is also mentioned.

The History of these People became very clear last couple of Years….Many Questions answered…It is “Their Plan” that they had for Centuries of Genocides which makes these “Elitist” Folks the Worst Evil upon Earth….they Should Hang for their Atrocities & the Assets of those Families should be Confiscated….

Pity that can’t clear Iraq of the American scum, who are stealing all the oil money.

    • FlorianGeyer

Now that the pro US Iraqi politicians are being deposed I am sure that the Iraqi oil will be again be the property of the Iraqi people again in due course.
The first priority is to remove all vestiges of the US military and their political control from Iraq.

That would also make the US involvement in Kurdish areas untenable.
The American Coalition of Terror will fail.
