Ten districts taken for only 2 days – It is impressive.Syrian army have the momentum – dont stop.I want to see what will happen in the Southern part.

    • John Whitehot

I’m kind of optimistic too, but “momentum” is a very fragile concept in urban operations. Let’s say I’ll celebrate when the last rats are purged from the whole city.

      • Doom Sternz

I suspect a mop up operation will occur in the liberated areas. Rest, Resupply etc etc
No point fighting on to many fronts, secure what they have gained first.

        • John Whitehot

it really depends on the objectives the advance was tailored for and the assets committed to it. We don’t have enough public information to ascertain how far they ‘ll go, but mop ups are likely, if the jihadists did not basically surrender en masse.

the remaining jihadists are now preparing to meet their 72
