On January 22, several civilians were injured, when the city center of Syria’s Aleppo came under another rocket attack by militants hiding in its suburbs.
A source in Aleppo’s Police Command told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that militants in the city’s western outskirt launched several rockets at the district of al-Zahra, injuring several civilians.
“Terrorists deliberately fire shells at residential neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo at peak hours … to cause the greatest harm to the population,” the SANA’s reporter in the city said.
The SANA released three photos showing some of the people injured in the attack, one of them appears to be a child, while another is a woman.
A day earlier, the militants fired several shells on Aleppo’s city center, killing at least three civilians and injuring many others.
Currently, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is amassing a large strike force in Aleppo. Syrian and Russian warplanes bombed militants’ positions in the city’s outskirt. A ground operation in the region appears to be nearing.
