The Iraqi air force and the US collation’s air power continue to strike ISIS positions in western Mosul.
On Friday, an air strike by the Iraqi air force targeted a group of ISIS fighters that was preparing a VBIED in Zanjilli neighborhood. As a result 13 ISIS members were killed. Another US-led coalition air strike destroyed an ISIS technical killing 3 ISIS fighters in Tamuz neighborhood.
According to local sources from western Mosul, more than 65 civilians were killed in the last 24 hours because of US-led collation airstrikes. A majority of them lost their lives as a result of airstrikes that had targeted Zanjilli neighborhood.
Meanwhile, ISIS terrorists targeted civilians after the Friday prayers in the newly liberated eastern part of Mosul. A rocket hit the Sadiq Rashan mosque in Al Muthanah neighborhood, killing one civilan and injuring 5 others.
According to the ISIS-linked news agency ‘Amaq’, clshes continue around Mosul city. ISIS claimed that it had been able to destroy more than 3 armored vehicles belonging to the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units.
The terrorist group also allegedly killed over 15 Iraqi fighters near Al Rehaniah town west of Mosul.
ISIS also claimed that an IED hit another PMU armored vehicle on the Baduish-Tal-Afar highway, killing and injuring members of its crew.
In Salah Al Deen area, Iraqi forces were able to shot down yet another ISIS drone.
According to the PMU media wing, PMU forces continue evacuating civilians from western Mosul. The PMU repportedly evacuateed more than 1500 civilians in the last 24 hours. The civilians were moved into a safe refugee camp in Hamam Al Aliel. The PMU also distributed humanitarian aid to more than 1200 displace families around Mosul.
According to reports, over 100 thousand civilians still under the siege in the ISIS-held western part of Mosul.
