Moscow Warns Washington Against Conducting Strike Against Syria

The Russian state-run news agency Sputniknews reports (source):

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov commented on the situation in Eastern Ghouta and the poisoning of Russian ex-spy Sergei Skripal.

Russia has called on the United States to abandon its unconditional plans for a strike against the Syrian government forces and Damascus, Sergei Ryabkov stated, answering the journalist’s question.

“We’ve warned and warned the US that these plans must be unconditionally refused. Any such unlawful use of force, similar to what happened almost a year ago at the Shairat air base, would be an act of aggression against a sovereign state, as defined by the relevant article of the UN Charter,” he said.

Sergei Ryabkov believes that if the situation in Syria and, in particular, Eastern Ghoutachanges for the better, opponents to a peaceful resolution to the conflict could incite the international community by sabotaging this process, possibly by using chemical weapons.

“The situation in Eastern Ghouta has changed radically for the better,” Sergei Ryabkov told reporters on Tuesday.

He drew attention to the fact that tens of thousands of people had already left the danger zone. “All this, of course, infuriates, in the truest sense of the word, the opponents of the government in Damascus; they are looking for new pretexts for attacks on us and on Syria,” Ryabkov said.

“In this situation, of course, any provocations are possible, and we need to be prepared. Provocations could include staging the use of chemical weapons by government troops,” Ryabkov said.

Staged ‘chemical attacks’ will continue in Syria as Syrian troops advance, he added.

Earlier, US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said that the US was prepared to act on the use of chemical weapons in Syria. According to him, the United States struck at the Shairat airbase, after a chemical attack in Syria’s Khan Sheikhoun on April 4, 2017, as the UN Security Council “was unable to take action.”

Skripal Poisoning

London still refuses to cooperate with Moscow in the investigation of the poisoning of the former Russian double-agent Sergei Skripal, which Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has described as a massive provocation.

“The British, acting with explicit malicious intent, have delivered some accusations. Once again, without backing them in any way with material evidence, with any kind of basis, rejecting cooperation, and, most outrageously, successively depriving us of consular access to Russian citizen Julia Skripal, who, as we understand, is in a critical state,” Ryabkov told reporters.

“All this is nothing more than a large-scale, multi-layer provocation, which is being conducted via a whole series of unlawful methods,” the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry added.

Moscow once again declares that neither Russia nor the USSR had a program for the development and production of chemical weapons under the conventional name “Novichok”, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stressed.

Moscow has called on the OPCW to provide Russia with all information regarding its reasoning for responding positively to London’s request for the Skrypals case, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told reporters.

On Monday OPCW experts arrived in the UK, where they would meet with the leadership of the military, scientific and technical laboratory in Porton Down and with the representatives of Scotland Yard to discuss the transfer process for testing the samples of the substance with which Skripal and his daughter were poisoned.

Earlier, UK Prime Minister Theresa May said that it was “highly likely” that Russia was responsible for the Salisbury incident and later announced a package of anti-Russia measures, including the expulsion of Russian diplomats from the country, and the suspension of bilateral contacts between London and Moscow.

The Russian Foreign Ministry refuted all the allegations and requested the UK Foreign Office to allow a joint investigation into the case.

On March 17 Russia announced retaliatory measures against the United Kingdom, declaring 23 employees of the UK Embassy personae non gratae.

im sceptical about this. The TFSA are about to stab Putin in the back again. TFSA are overjoyed for the fall of Afrin and clearly stated Aleppo. and Turkish jet bomb Aleppo airport.

  • Floyd Hazzard

You will only get respect when you prove you are worth respecting and is prepared to defend your red lines. Nobody will respect you when you are letting your allies, and even your own citizens be bombed at will and whim or you are acting as desperadoes, selling your best equipment to the enemies of your supposed allies. Nothing to respect there so I don’t fault anyone for pressing the advantages they have developed.

  • Serious

    “unlawful” XD.

In the world, there is only one law : “The law to defend yourself”. Period. The others laws don’t exist unless for those who believe in. Of course, these people who believe in farlytales will be deluded and the loosers.

    • Joe

Yes it is very convenient for you to say as Israel always used that a million times forgetting that others do not have those right to defend themselves.

Fact is might is law as far as your evil kinds are.

      Every levels you apply that.

As long as your opponents have the capability to defend themselves , they become a threat.

Even Russia selling S400 to others has become a threat while your kinds can threaten others.

It is God’s will that Russia , China, Iran ,SAA are winning

      • Огњен Чоловић

Well said Joe :) was about to write pretty much the same reply to him ;)

      • Serious

I don’t understand what you are saying. Some people apply this UNIQUE law some others don’t and prefer to let their right to defend and become slaves.

Syria has every riught to defend against USA. Russia has every right to defend Syria and shut down israeli and american planes. But, Russia didn’t use their right and now is loosing.

So, I don’t know. If you don,’t respect yourself, others will not either.

        • Ewan

Russia did not refrain from using its “right” – the syrian-russian alliance are fighting on multiple fronts. Pointless to escalate with the Yanks when you need to put out many little fires that can become big fires. Fighting the little fires and winning weakens the US who cannot support these terror groups openly. So when the fire is a BIG one like Ghouta, and they are about lose, they are pulling all the stops like desperately attempting chemical false flags. The campaign has started in Britain and will end with a real false flag and after that, a massive NATO attack on Syria.

Russia must decide if it wants to confront NATO for its own purposes away from its borders (in Syria) or ON it borders , if it abandons Syria. I think Putin is a better chess player than you think….

  • Mountains

I just don’t understand all this Putin being voted in again. Lets just see what he has done. His defeated and dusted almost in Donbass in Ukraine and basically his forces are besieged there and he has left them to the wolves. What is left can be routed out in hours. 17% Russians fate in Ukraine is extremely uncertain at this point. The Economy is not getting better.

I don’t see how Putin is all this popular in Russia and trying to become the next Stalin. His not even good need enough to polish his shoes. Stalin would not have been stoke in Donbass and defeated by Poroshenko or being intimidated by Poroshenko who seems to have out-smarted Putin and basically defeated him tactically and militarily since he has been elected

    • Orcbuu

Again, your Big Pile of Mountain Bullshit.

      • Mountains

I’m just a lowkey analyst don’t get your pants wet. Facts will always stay facts on the map

        • Boris Kazlov

Waht defeat are you talking about, mountain of bullshit? never heard of the Debaltsevo cauldron, there were two wars in Donbass, both lost by USAIPAC, the only thing you won is the massacre at the trade union building, you shameless punk disrupting a pro-Russian site for food stamps so you can eat double ratburgers with poisoned Coca Cola.

            An Israeli?

          • FlorianGeyer

The Israeli’s tend to be the most frenzied and foul mouthed on any forum. I have noticed this for about 20 years now.

          • Don’t read butthurt replies

Hahaha @Mountains part, too funny. I think you forgot to say he got a reptilian nose too.

Why do these Hasbara/JIDF agents always rear their ugly faces in here? Mountains is one of the worse of these idiots!

      • FlorianGeyer

They seem to rear their heads when the US Coalition of Terror is in trouble :)

    • Tudor Miron

That’s it – you just don’t understand. There’s no capacity (within your thinking apparatus) to comprehand. Honestly, one has to be extremely dumb to believe that someone will buy such low level lies that you try to spread here. I understand that food stamps is not enough for you and that’s why you’re pursuing prestigious career in internet trolling. But your trolling is extremely low quality – you simply try to say that white is black and that doesn’t work. Look at Graeme – that’s an example of hard working intelligent troll. He knows that in order to sell some BS it is necessary to add some truth to make it believable. I understand that that’s out of your capacity but does it feel OK being SouthFront’s “Village idiot”? I feel sorry for you.

The reason you don’t understand why Putin was voted in, is because you as as dumb as a bag of lump hammers. So, don’t try to understand, just try to accept your position on this site, as the Prime Retard that almost everyone feels obliged to kick every now and again..

    • Eddy

I am totally amazed, that anyone can believe this garbage your posted. Incredible.
Unless of course if your a Troll being paid to post crap like this.

    • Ewan

But he kicked US-Israeli ass in Syria. I think secret Syrian vote won him elections. You’re fkin idiot

  • Serious

Putin should have impose Yanukovych to take part of the election process in Ukraine and to remain in the opposition in Ukraine. But, according to some people, making an election between west candidates in Ukraine is a f…ing great idea. XD.

I don’t undertsand. These strategies are failure. Facts are facts.

    • Eddy

NO ! Your not “Serious” at all. You do realise that the Ukraine is not Russian these days and is an independent nation ? Unlike many Western nations, Putin had no legal right to intervien in any events within Ukraine. If he even tried that on, he’d be crusified for doing so. Besides, Putin is on record stating Ukraine is an economic basket case, due to it’s own actions, and that Russia has no intentions whatever of involving it’self in their affairs and spending Russian money on a bottomless hole. Ukrainians made their own mess, and it’s up to the Ukrainians to develop a back bone, and sort out their own shit, and stop blaming everyone for their own shortcomings.

  • Serious

If USA says to Russia not to sell S-400 to Syria and russia says “OK, my western partner”, who the fuck is to blame ??? Russia doesn’t use the right to defend and is loosing and now even is crying ?

Shot down israeli planes. Shot down american planes. Youy have every rights to do so. If you don’t want, face the consequences.

  • Serious

It’s like Europeans. The leaders in Europe loves israel. When israel doesn’t want immigrants, these leaders say nothing. But, when, these leaders don’t want immigrants, israelis leaders say that Europeans are racists. XD. And those stupid Europeans say nothing. Why ? Because they are piece of shit who don’t use their fucking UNIQUE right on this planet : the right to defend. So, they styart blaming the immigrants. It’s fucking hilarious.

Don’t blame the one who want to defend. Rather blame the one who prefer not to use their rights.

“Similar to Shairat” — these are key words. The US attacked Syria (not for the first time nor the last) *and got away with it*. Why wouldn’t they think they can get away with more? What did Putin think the Americans would focus on when he INVITED them into Syria — education? clean water?

    • Brad Isherwood

Lavrov has gone off the Deep end lately.
He argued that US was protecting Terrorists,
Then said US should stop and fight Terrorism in Syria.
Days later he lists off nations with Special forces operating in Syria,
      Never mentions Israel*

Nikki Haley at least makes sense in her/him…. rock Harpie screaming.

      Lavrov makes no sense.
Unless he is sending coded talk to United States and Israel. ….Well done,
      Syria is partitioned….you win.

      • Eddy

On the contrary, IF you’ve been following the narrative, Lavrov makes lots of sense.
In fact he makes more sense then the whole British Government does.

        • Brad Isherwood

Lavrov talks endlessly about Syria’s Sovereignty while US builds more bases in Syria
          https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201803191062705004-us-new-base-syria-reports/
          Putin/Lavrov call US Partners.
Never Mention Israel involvement in causing chaos in Syrian war,…nor out Israel
For supply and Arm FSA in occupied Golan.
Nor defend Syria with Russian S 400 as IAF attack Syria for 6 years.

Syria is partitioned. …US building more bases.
Time for Lavrov to Tell US to leave Syria. ..their presence is illegal.
No more Partner talk and other confusing gestures.

The idea that the British could conclude that Russians are behind a CW attack in the UK is on its face laughable. Realistically, based on scant evidence, motivations of the parties and the required technical ability, assuming that the Novichok agent was actually deployed in some powder form within the BMW of Skripal, only three theories can be described as likely.

1.) a country like Ukraine with the scientific know-how, the motive and the means perpetrated the attack for the purpose of maintaining economic sanction and pariah status against Russia as means of survival for the Kiev regime, and in hopes of improving their bargaining position. It wouldn’t be a totally insane maneuver and would be in line with other reckless activity like taking down civilian airliners.

2.) No attack occurred, or a British simulated attack occurred for the purposes of blaming Russia and giving the UK a pretext to demonize Russian action in Syria, possibly in preparation for a CW attack in Ghouta, or some other rebel enclave, designed to maximize casualties and turn western European opinion pro war by making the British populace feel threatened about being a victim of a CW attack. These activity could be related to the inevitable link between White Helmets and manufacture of CW weapons that will come out in the next few weeks. Based on the direct UK funding of the white helmets, they may have some serious explaining to do, so they struck first.

3.) The third possibility is that rogue elements in Russia, acquired or manufactured a low grade weapon and used it against Skripal in a reckless manner for the purposes of undermining Putin and his party at home.

    • slayern2

      2.) and nothing else
1&3 scenarios are not really possible, not just because I doubt Ukrainians (or ‘rogue elements’- are (logistically) capable of such actions, but because they would never dare to do anything without western approval. Ukies are nothing but obedient vassals, committing a terrorist attack on british soil without british/american knowledge is basically impossible. Finally, british hysterical (almost insane) reaction, and subsequent dirty media campaign only proves they are behind this.

      • Eskandar Black

Well it sort of depends. The major reason to suspect the british is their refusal to share information. However, Ukraine would do something like this because they need a hostile situation between the west and russia, and maybe believe they have engineered other outrageous provocations like taking down a civilian jet just to establish sanctions against russia. It is possible that they are looking ahead to the inevitable end of war in syria, and realize that the west is going to make a deal over their objection, then decide to do something about it to prevent the deal.

        • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

They said Skripal’s daughter suitcase was carrying the nerve agent destined for East Ghouta, then to be delivered by patsies n East Ghouta.

          • Eskandar Black

I dont believe this, but it is possible, as novichok is a powder and it would have no purpose in Ghouta, who is they? Why would his daughter have access to such a weapon?

          • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Sorry it was reported in the media as the suitcase was thoroughly checked by Porton Down people, everyone forgets there was a convenient chemical weapons disaster crisis enactment going on. Skripal’s daughter is known go between for deliveries ,the A-234 is produced in the UK ,France,Germany,US and Israel those are the most common manufacturers.

          • Eskandar Black

I believe that neither Russia nor UK are behind the incident because the major casualty is the Russo-British relations. I do believe that the attack was orchestrated by SBU(Ukrainian counterintelligence), for the express purpose of improving the Ukranian bargaining position and maintaining sanctions against Russia. I believe it is a Ukrainian intelligence directive to create the provocation in order to prevent Russia from normalizing relations with the west. This is a strategy that has support from various Nato elements and Deep State operatives who’s budget and power is based on maintaining Russia in a pariah status and using Russia to justify the creation and support of the western military complex.

I was wondering: Why isn’t the rest of the World not already ignoring the West? It’s just childish Bullsh*t they come up with everytime…. just a waste of energy to even spend a second talkin’ to a C*nt Like May….
