Moscow: American model of isolating Russia has failed

A spokeswoman of the Foreign Ministry of Russia, Maria Zakharova, has estimated that the United States has become a hostage of its own model of isolating Russia.
“We don’t want anything from the Americans. To a large extent, they are the ones who want something from us, judging by the numerous calls on a ministerial level that we are now getting”, said Zakharova for the “Komsomolskaya Pravda.”
According to her, US officials call them literally every day: “The United States has become a victim of models that were invented by themselves.”
“On the one hand, the isolation of Russia that they intended to carry out obviously failed. On the other hand, they unilaterally broke off cooperation in all areas, while they left open only one channel – through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs”, she said.
Zakharova said that there are many problems that need to solved, but there are no channels for this.
“They closed them with their own hands. And now their are calling Ministry of Foreign Affairs for every problem. It is impossible to talk about the isolation of the country that you recognize as the biggest player when it comes to international issues”, said Zakharova.
