More Than 9,200 Locals From Eastern Ghouta Joined Syrian Army So Far

FILE IMAGE

More than 9,200 locals from the Eastern Ghouta region have joined the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and several pro-government armed groups since the liberation of the region on April 14, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on May 30.

The SOHR said that most of the locals who joined the SAA are from the districts of Duma, Hammuriyah, Irbin, Jisreen, Kafr Batna, Hazzah, Misraba, Saqba and Madeira. The source added that a part of these locals are former fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) who had defected from their groups during or even before the SAA military operation in the Eastern Ghouta region.

The evacuation agreement between Jaysh al-Islam and Damascus gave 18-42 y.o. men there a six-month period to reconcile and join the SAA, if they have not completed their mandatory service. However, it appears that the majority of locals had joined the SAA and pro-government forces before the end of this period.

Earlier this month, the Syrian pro-opposition news outlet Damascus Voice said that more than 4,000 locals of the Eastern Ghouta region joined the SAA. This indicates that the number of locals who opted to join the SAA doubled during the last three weeks.

This drastic increase in the number of its personnel allowed the SAA to demobilize soldiers for the first time since the beginning of the Syrian war. Around 10,000 SAA soldiers will be discharged from military services on June 1, according to Syrian pro-government sources.

    • FlorianGeyer

Yes, these Syrians have seen the reality of the US Export Version of Democratic Values.

They have seen the brutality, wanton destruction, de facto slavery, starvation caused by the Terror Gangs of thugs at first hand and will fight even harder to eradicate it from Syria.

  • Merijn

Smart… Slowly But Surely They Eat Away all AngloZioNazi-Sympathisers….Hey USraHell… did You Train 9200 New ISIS-Headchoppers already…..? BWAHAHAHAAA!!!

    • jorge

They can eaven train 100,000 conscripts, because they will desert, migrate to Europe or go to hell. These guys have helped to made something wonderful: a very powerful syrian army, that is destroying the ennemy at every syrian corner.

      • Merijn

A Non-Divided Syria for Syrians….and a United Middle East would be a very Nice Result…after this Bloody war…I have peace with Reconciliation for it is probably the wised thing to do…if you want a lasting peace in Syria… Vendettas will create New Terrorists….

        • potcracker2588

No but the Power of ISIS is Broken… by People that Knew the Evil behind it..and Slowly but Surely the World is Waking Up… my Brothers & Sisters are gone and will not return, Their Land and the Wildlife Destroyed & the Waters Polluted for the Greed & Hunger for Power … I only can hope one day, this will be a Lesson…for future Generations…because History tends to repeat itself…and right now we are reaching the Point of No Return and Might even Past it already…

        • jorge

War operations are war operations, not vendettas, and I’m amazed how the syrians are eliminating headchppers on their occupied territories in Idlib, Daraa, Deir er Zor, etc, in clandestine or special operations, not to speak of the classic operations (this year, they have cleaned up a third of the Idlib (also parts of Aleppo, Hama, Homs) occupied territories, East Ghouta, Yarmouk, East Qaleimun, the Rastan pockett. The war is won, there will be no divided Syria, because even the YPG will go on the green buses, if they not reconcile

          • Merijn

It will be a good sight to see the SDF stand in Line to get a Free Busticket…

          • FlorianGeyer

Where could the SDF be bussed to I wonder ? Germany, UK or even a boat trip to the USA :)

          • jorge

Better to go anywhere than to be eated by the tigers.

          • FlorianGeyer

Tigers with their Siberian Tiger cousins as well :)

          • Merijn

Ship them to IsraHell…they are Buddies… Buddies should help eachother a bit…

          • FlorianGeyer

They would need to be ‘deactivated’ so that Israel could not use them to attack Lebanon or Syria.

Amputation of two limbs would suffice I think .

        • Karo Dndlian

the real name is Asyria . the jews change it . and jews dont want to see Asyria name or anything left from that time . and they ask ISIS to destroy all . jews jews jews

humankind behavior must change . you me and all people we learn in our childhood years . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yb5ivvcTvRQ we must change this to have good years to come on this planet

  • You can call me Al

Is it me, or is one of those a small child ?.

    • hamster

      It’s just a shorter guy.

    • russ

      You called it, Al.

    • Sinbad2

      It’s you :)

  • Serious

I never understood why people were forced to engage into the army. It’s an third world thing. It’s obvious that people who are forced to engage make poorer soldiers than those who want to join.

    • hamster

It’s called making up for lack of manpower. You’re retarded.

      • Serious

Of course. When you let USA bombs your soldiers. When you must kill thousands of soldiers to recover 5 square meter because you have no weapons, no helmet, no strategy, you let the west gathering weapons in Syria without any control because you collaborate with the west “war on terror”, you didn’t recover Golan Height because of poor allies, …… people start not willing to fight for you. And so, you are forced to engage by force.

        • hamster

None of those things are correct. Try again.

        • FlorianGeyer

Name me one country that has not used conscription when the survival of the state was at great risk , especially directly from invading forces .

          • Serious

Syria was using this method even before.

          • FlorianGeyer

As most other countries have as well. National Service ( conscription ) is the modern name used. Britain only ended that in the late 1950’s.

Israel today has conscription for Jews and Druze only.

Here is a world list .

    • §âm

They are treated like shit as well

    • ilme

There are various good reasons for mandatory service:
In case of war the country can mobilise reserves faster as large parts of the population already had basic training. Also a army of conscripts is less likely to turn against the own population in case the political leadership tries to stay in power using force.

As you can see these advantages only apply to an army whose job is the defence of a country against an regular enemy force. That is why most of the countries with a conscript army have special unity of professional soldiers as well to get the best out of both worlds.
And if the army is supposed to attack other, much weaker countries these advantages turn into disadvantages.

  • §âm

    Conscripted*

    • jorge

Volunteers, in the most part, the recruitment in East Ghouta is of volunteers, as is being noticed.

    • as

Yeah maan. Drafted but wait… Where’s that bone spur of mine located again ?

    • Bob

Actually, six or seven years trapped under the (foreign sponsored) Jaysh al-Islam terrorist and criminal occupation of East Ghouta, with militants engaging in regular kidnappings, looting of private and public property, holding civilian hostages, controlling and price gouging of all food and water supplies etc, is enough motivation for many of the liberated to join the ranks of SAA.

  • Feudalism Victory

The more syrians fight to reclaim their country the more they can be said to be patriots.

  • gustavo

Wellcome all Syria people who want to defense their country from Israel-USA-NATO who are using the terrorists to destroy Siria. Congratulation to those Syria people who are doing this.

  • Vitex

Spare a thought for those war-weary guys who’ve been fighting for seven years straight.

    • FlorianGeyer

Most of those terrible years were in great adversity as well and they still fought on . Brave men indeed.
