More than 900 Russian Troops Involved in Exercise in Moscow Region

More than 100 units of weapons and military equipment, and more than 900 troops are involved in an exercise that has been launched at the Alabino range outside Moscow, the TASS news agency reported on July 12, citing the press service of the Western Military District. The troops are going to practice the use of the integrated system of troops command and control.

“Troops of the First Guards Tank Army will drill advanced combat methods, using the integrated tactical command and control system. Before the exercise, its participants – soldiers and commanders, as well as staff officers received the sets of equipment connected to the integrated tactical command and control system. Similar equipment samples for automatic weapon aiming were installed on combat vehicles,” the report says.

According to the press service, artillery, motorized infantry, and reconnaissance units of the Guards Tank Army, as well as representatives of the military-industrial complex and the Combined Arms Academy of the Russian Armed Forces will be involved in the exercises. The putting military units on a hair-trigger alert, preparation and conduct of combat operations, detection and destruction of the simulated enemy will be drilled by the troops during the exercise.
