Early on April 9, a missile attack hit the T4 airbase located in the Syrian province of Homs.

Initially, the Syrian state-run media SANA reported that the Syrian Air Defense Forces had shot down 8 missiles, but there had been some “martyrs and wounded” in the incident. The SANA also accused the US of being behind the attack.

The US and France officially rejected of delivering a strike on the T4 Airbase. The Israeli military declined to comment on reports about the T4 airbase strike.

However, a video showing unidentified fighter jets in Lebanese airspace prior to the strike appeared online. Israel often uses Lebanese airspace to attack targets inside Syria.

Later, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the strike had been delivered by two Israeli F-15 fighters, which launched 8 missiles. Five missiles were shot down by Syrian forces. The rest reached the western part of the airbase.

The situation is developing.

I expected more than hot air from Russia.

    • AJ

What hot air the air defences were engaged and took out several miisiles with minimal damage it seems from these pics.

      • jerry hamilton

Russia had stated they would take out the source of the missiles.

        • AJ

I understood that threat to be directed against the US launching cruise missiles at Damascus. You can take out the source if its a ship launched cruise missile but responding to this would mean attacking Israel itself – Russia wont do that

        • @Inc2Get

No, Russia said if the US attacked the Russian bases in Syria, then they would launch airstrikes and missile attacks on the source.

          • jerry hamilton

Was it Russian bases or personnel?

          • @Inc2Get

The statement read Russian bases, but probably personnel are included.

        • Vince Dhimos

But didn’t he say this applied only to Syrian territory where RUSSIAN personnel were present?

          • jerry hamilton

From what I can recall after a night out, you are quite right.

      • You can call me Al

But AJ – this is not good enough; all missiles should have been brought down.

What if the nutters send 40, 140 planes next time and not just 2 ?. I know the logic you are applying and I was trying as well to apply the same, but I didn’t know there were some dead then.

Enough now, I am becoming frustrated and I am not even there.

        • AJ

I seriously doubt that any air defence system even the S400 has a 100% accuracy rate so some missiles would always get through. Even the patriot is hit & miss

          • You can call me Al

Yeah Ok I agree. Hit the source, take out the launchers – if it means hitting the airfields, eliminate them. Yes I know the repercussions.

        • Vince Dhimos

They need Pantsir system. They’re wasting expensive missiles.

      • jerry hamilton

I agree. It was lucky that only 14 men were killed.
I call that far from minimal damage though.
        How do you value that?

    • FlorianGeyer

Give it time Jerry and there will be I am certain. Instant response to any small Hit and Run attack is difficult, although in this case the ‘instant defensive response’ did manage to prevent 5 Israeli missiles hitting the T4 base.

Israel will pay for this when the time is right and few in the world today would mourn the destruction of an Israeli military base in a ball of fire.

Especially after the murder of Palestinians INSIDE the De Facto Concentration Camp of Gaza in the past week.

      • Freespirit

From you Florian:“Israel will pay for this when the time is right and few in the world
today would mourn the destruction of an Israeli military base in a ball of fire.”
.THAT is what we Irish did for over 600 year and it cost us over 5 million of our Brothers and Sisters

It only changed to our BENEFIT when we hit back against the British with GUERRILLA WARFARE …….and we won within 75 years as we increased our attacks. 75 years versus 600+ and 5 million deaths

Imagine what we ( or Syrians and Palestiniains ) could have saved if we had fought that way from the beginning.

There is no “when the time is right”.

That TIME is NOW or it may become NEVER.

        • jerry hamilton

I strongly agree with you but this is different. Would the Irish start WW3?

          • Freespirit

WW3 started in 1947 and you KNOW that

          • jerry hamilton

In that respect WW2 started with the Bolshevik revolution.

          • Freespirit

No argument there, although I would give specifics to the Jews DECLARING WAR on Germany with their BOYCOTT of German goods and services. :-)

Indirectly that could be part of a Bolshevik WAR

          • jerry hamilton

That was easy enough to do. Untermyer had the support of America.

          • Freespirit

            Yes

          • First Lastname

            We’re all working on 110.

          • Freespirit

As am I and even 112+, – the Americas and Ireland

        • Gregory Casey

I would infinitely prefer if everyone here stopped throwing the terms “Jew” & “Jewish” around and instead used “Israeli State”

          • jerry hamilton

You specifically want it tied to a country?
Israel is not physically in America or Britain but the jewish Lobby pretty much control both.
I think that while it IS often used the wrong way, it is still valid.

          • Gregory Casey

Members of the so-called “Christian/Religious Right” in America are, in my view far more dangerous than your average American of Jewish origin or religion. Within Israel, there is quite a vocal Opposition to BiBi and his war-mongering Likud parasites. This Opposition is generally ignored both within Israel and by much of the International media. As for London and what you term Jewish influence, it seems quite clear to me that the inner sanctum of the Tories and Fleet Street on the Docklands has been arm-in-arm with the Israeli Likud and its cousins for generations ever since they came up with their brilliant plan for extermination of those of non-Jewish blood in Palestine in 1918.

          • jerry hamilton

Why then do you oppose the very relevant term “Jew” & “Jewish” ?

          • Gregory Casey

Because regardless of Religious Belief, those who fly Israeli Air-Force planes and those who fire Israeli Missiles at Syrian targets are acting on behalf of the State of Israel. Meanwhile, those who fire upon unarmed Palestinians in Gaza also action behalf of the Israeli State. If a Complaint is made to the UN in relation to either of these actions, the Complaint is made against the State of Israel and not against “Jew” or “Jewish”

          • jerry hamilton

There is nothing relevant in what you just typed.

          • Kolo

            Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

          • Kolo

            Bullshit
            It’s the jews stupid

          • Vince Dhimos
          • Freespirit

I notice you are very new here so let me save you embarrassment . TIME and ENERGY……

YOU are not of my league.

Do more research and come back to me in 5 or 10 years or so

            Take care now

          • jerry hamilton

You took it very easy with him.
You could have told him that Israel as they call it is not a legitimate country.
It was not created by the UN myth.
The zionist leadership had no legal authority to unilaterally declare the existence of the Jewish state of Israel.
They also did it without any indication as to its borders or boundaries.
Occupied Palestine is nothing but stolen land.

          • Freespirit

I didn’t need to- You did, just now :-)

            notwithstanding …….. no hyphens please!!

          • Freespirit

You must be American or at the very least non-educated, the American way. Do you like that Hyphen? I added it for your discomfort.

I’ll bet you even pronounce Nuclear as Bush did and most Americans do – “Nu cu lar”. The American way. Removing one letter and replacing it with another in another position, WHEN pronounced

Americans do that with Governments too, in far-away lands, where they have no right to be…love those hyphens !

Google and American dictionaries, have you under their thumb and you have no understanding of all the purposes of Hyphens

I notice your false ego, allowed you to avoid the point of my comment to you and distract, with what you PERCEIVE as an error, on my point from revealing WHAT you are.

My use of Hyphens is correct., by PROPER ENGLISH !

It is not called American. it is called English, for good reason, so now, You have my blessing to do it the American way if you wish and I choose the English way, now………………

            Shoo, fly

          • Gregory Casey

Uneducated as opposed to “non-educated”. More to the point, downright ignorant.

          • Kolo

            Nope

          • Hisham Saber

The Israeli ‘ State’ only came about in 1948 by U.N. fiat.

Jews having been sowing discord among man on planet earth for nearly 2000 years.

Jews created the biggest lie of the 20th century, the Holocaust, to mask the largest genocide in world history, perpetrated by them ,the Bolshevik Red Terror revolution that was a Jewish crime against humanity. 40-50 million killed off.

Jews were behind the Ukraine famine of 36-37 that wiped out 6-7 million innocents.

Jews are a parasitical people who have been exiled and /or expelled 109 times from 84 different locations, sometimes repeatedly. Starting from 250 A.D.A Carthage – 1948 Arab countries.

Jews are behind the Russia bashing and escalation of world tension. They don’t even try to hide anymore in their insolent arrogance.

But Russia, Iran, China and the whole Muslim world know that the Jews are behind the sowing of discord among humanity on earth, always have, always will.

Its all part of their sick and twisted belief system that they derive from the diabolical Talmud and Kabbala.

So there you have it. The world would be a heaven on earth without them.

          • Freespirit

I must say you have more patience with that fool, than I do and I further say Very WELL-stated and TRUE to Historical FACTS

I can usually tell a commenter, like, but not limited to, “Gregory Casey” , by his first sentence whether or not he/she is worth responding in depth to, and………………..

Gregory Casey was not worth it, FOR ME :-)

At 78 I am very choosy and people like he is,BORE me.

            Keep up the fight.

          • Gregory Casey

Want to add the Saudis, Emiratis, Qataris and Erdogan Turks to the mix?

        • FlorianGeyer

The ‘Now’ must be a planned reaction though and knot a ‘knee jerk ‘ reaction.

          • Freespirit

I never said it should be a “knee jerk” reaction. If you had followed my many thousands of comments, you would know what i said it should be

          • FlorianGeyer

            I agree mate.

I watched a series called Castles on the BBC recently and history that old is nor usually distorted too much. I was aware from school days of the 20th century troubles but not of the horrific occupation by the Normans from England and the subsequent castle building of King Edward Long Shanks of England to further brutally subdue the Irish. The cruel rule of General Cornwallis of the Heights of Abraham fame in Canada particularly disgusted me.

Few people know that until recently due to Eastern European migration, that the Irish population had actually decreased significantly in many centuries due to induced famine, violent death and migration to escape the repression of England.

          • Freespirit

YES,Yes, yes.As I said you are GOOD person. NOT sure if you listened to this Radio podcast but if not, I suggest you do and. either way, pass it on, please, if you can: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDndoQrqQys

            A TRUE HOLOCAUST.

          • FlorianGeyer

Thank you for that video. It describes yet another account of the heinous acts against the Irish by causing famine . It ranks with Jewish Communist Cheka/NKVD theft of food from Kulak farmers during the Holodomor about 100 years later in the early 1930’s.

Your History is not really taught in schools which indicates the fear that the UK has of inconvenient truth. In fairness the Welsh and Scots also suffered greatly in history as did the English during the Norman Conquest.

Few people are aware that the Vikings raided and then settled in the coastal areas of Ireland and controlled the sea trade routed there before the Normans invaded.

          • jerry hamilton

Hmmm. Irish rebel. You rascal you.
I was married to an Irish girl whose father was a rebel too.
Every day my wife would sing Weela Weela Walya
He was from the Wesht coast. A fisherman.
He came to live in England. Volunteered to join the army WW2 and they wouldn’t allow him to join.
            The stories he would tell.
I thought I knew some Irish history but no.
The famous potato famine only happened because the Brits stole them.
            There was no potato famine.
Overall you had a pretty rough deal.

          • Freespirit

You don’t know the half of it” but this Radio podcast will give you the BEST idea of what we Irish went through because of and by, those British Imperialist Psychopaths : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDndoQrqQys

    • Lilian Turin

This is indeed annoying, I suspect Russia understand it’s dealing with superior Air-powers and does not want to risk its assets unless “directly” attacked. Surely though these continous “poking” by these bandits cannot go on !??

      • jerry hamilton

I can’t agree with superior air power.

  • Miguel Redondo

As we can see at the photographs

    https://southfront.org/photos-show-syrias-t4-airbase-israeli-airstrike/

there is no appreciable damage made to T4 airbase.

It would be surprising what effect would have the delivery of BUK and S300 sistems to Lebanese Hizbollah in the future.

    • Brad Isherwood

Iran has their own version mobile BUK M2 series,…and S 300.
IRGC tends to be the military link in primary to/with Hezbollah and other Syrian Shia Militias.
If** Hezbollah has BUK M2E mobile, …it’s something guarded ,not to be paraded,
      Keep Israhell worried.
BUK M2E is the system I think SAA used to knock down the IAF F16i recently.
Ukronazi BUK M2 is believed to have been the system used to down the MH 17 airliner years ago over Ukraine

  • Russie Unie

It’s time to erase IsraHell !

    • You can call me Al

Three big missiles needed – that is all; same as Saudi Arabia.

    • Freespirit

THAT is what I have been saying for years now,but so far, everyone is afraid to even TALK about taking our Tel Aviv

      What are they waiting for?

      • jerry hamilton

I don’t think they are thrilled about Occupied Palestine’s Samson Option.

        • Freespirit

Zionists may be PSYCHOPATHS but they are not MASOCHISTS nor do they have a Death wish

You are either falling for or promoting their scare tactics so move on to someone with less discernment than I

          “War by Deception?

          • jerry hamilton

That is the problem. They are MASOCHISTS. They orgasm on goyim death more.
            The Samson Option is zionism.

          • Freespirit

I suspect you are talking about SADISM not Masochism when you say: “They orgasm on goyim death more.”

            My comment stands.

          • jerry hamilton

They are a truly unusual species in that they take great pleasure from being persecuted as well as persecuting others.
There is nothing else quite like it

          • Freespirit

That is true BUT the statement, of yours which I referred to, implies SADISM not Masochism

          • jerry hamilton

I reserve the right to infer both SADISM and Masochism on these creatures.

      • Vince Dhimos

        Israel has nukes.

        • Freespirit

Common knowledge, so what is your point?

          • Vince Dhimos

My point is common knowledge. And common sense. BTW, what post of yours was I responding to? Do you know?

          • Freespirit

            I believe this one.-

“THAT is what I have been saying for years now,but so far, everyone is afraid to even TALK about taking out Tel Aviv

What are they waiting for? “

Keep up the fight Vince because we agree on WHO is the enemy, although we may disagree on the solution :-)

    • First Lastname

I say Putin invades the “””Holy Land””” and fires up the ovens for real this time.

      • Vince Dhimos

He’ll never do that. To understand, you need to read his bio and then the book Shield and Sword, mentioned therein. Only available in Russian now.

  • jerry hamilton

This was nothing but an attempt to start global war. As was the USS Liberty.

    • Nigel Maund

      Seems a resonable supposition!

    • FlorianGeyer

I agree Jerry and it displays the fear and desperation of Israel.

    • Blucross

No major power wants a GLOBAL war! What does the global power think they will gain ???

      • jerry hamilton

Lots and lots of money from munitions sales.
Don’t forget, World Domination is still a very big issue.

      • Hisham Saber

        Its really simple actually.

The U.S. / West are ruled and run by Jews.

Jews believe that it is their God given right to rule the world. The rest of us that are not Jews are considered sub-human by Jews.

They are attempting, in desperation to get the U.S./ West to subjugate Russia, Iran, and then move on to China.

They are doomed to fail. They are bitter, miserable people who cant tolerate the fact that Bashar, Nasrallah, Putin, Khamenei, and Xi of China have told them to go to hell, from whence their ‘God’ comes from. Truly a most diabolical sort of people.

        • Kolo

          Well said

        • beh51

          True.

    • Joe

It is just a retaliation for the annihilation of western special forces trapped in Easter Ghouta

    • j. jaxson

I hope Trump doesn’t fall for this stunt.
however the pentagon is trying to sway him to strike and build up.
Trump was not fond of this deal but the pentagon rules our country.
One usually has to feel the pain of their actions until they realize the consequences.

      who will deliver the blow?

      • jerry hamilton

America will deal the first blow.
I don’t think Trump has the power to stop it.

        • j. jaxson

I think you are probably correct.
If we do strike first i wonder what the retaliation would be?
I hate having to feel like this will lead to a possible www3
type situation. i just don’t think we are on the side of this deal.
its really annoying and frustrating that the world shifted so dramatically in the 2000’s to a nuttier loose cannon type reality.

          • jerry hamilton

You’re right. It’s a bloody circus. A really scary one.

  • Vince Dhimos

It seems odd that the Syrians could knock down these missiles with S-200s. Could it be that Russia has quietly added a Pantsir battery there?

    • @Inc2Get

      “Upgraded S-200”.

      • Vince Dhimos

Too bad they couldn’t hit the figher jets that launched the missiles over Lebanon.

        • jerry hamilton

Now this has happened, I don’t think Russia will allow it to happen again.
I hope they don’t let it happen again.

  • Nigel Maund

Ruusians playing some wait and see game here?

  • Sephy

I think Russia has just lost a great opportunity. They should have shot down all the Israeli missiles by themselves and this would send a message to the US that Russians would defend Syrians. Then the US would not dare to attack the SAA.

    • chris chuba

Russia also just signaled that it is possible to attack Syrian forces without threatening Russian personnel, their Red Line. This invites a U.S. attack.

      • jerry hamilton

Exactly. It invites an attack from anyone.

      • Sephy

I don’t think so. Everyone knows how far the SAA can go. It cannot repel a volley of cruise missile attacks on it’s own.

        • jerry hamilton

It significantly undermines Russia’s promise of retaliation.

          • Sephy

            yes, I agree

      • CyricRenner

Precisely. If the US was contemplating an attack on Syria this attack might have been a test to see how the Russians react. They didn’t do anything. I think the could have at least intercepted the missiles, although the SAA did a pretty good job of that using mothballed soviet S-200’s.

    • CyricRenner

Good Point. Why does Russia keep allowing Syria to be hit if they can prevent it? If Russian military personnel are not directly affected, does the mean any country country is free to bomb Syria as they please? I am not sure if Russian Air Defense is presently covering this area, although they easily could if they wish.

It is the most bizarre military alliance that I ever seen that allows an enemy to bomb them at will. I know that this is just a pin prick attack, but the message that it sends is the SAA is a free target just so long as you don’t kill Russians. Russia’s imprint in Syria is rather modest. Are they just going to sit on their hands and watch as the SAA is destroyed just so long as their bases are not touched?

      • Joe

Russia can only bomb terrorists that cannot fight back.

Do far Russia has not proven even their so called powerful S400 can hit anything. So far only Russian planes shot down.

        • Gregory Casey

Last I heard the Israeli Air Force lost a Fighter Jet over Syria a few weeks ago

        • @Inc2Get

It would be unnecessary to use S-400 at missiles launched from jets. Sure, they would perhaps hit their target but the cost of it would make it almost useless against cheaper threats. If Russia wanted to take down the missiles, they would’ve deployed Pantsir s1, Upgraded version, which is basically a heavy weighter when it comes to these things. Not sure why they allow these things!

Wake up Putin! Time to bomb Israel!

      • Sephy

Actually, I support the Russian stance. These strikes don’t cause significant damages. So why bother engaging them when it rises tensions with other parties. In fact, if Russia bombs the US ally, the US would do the same, just send off some warnings.

But this time, things are bit different on the ground. In my opinion, they should have engaged this time.

        • jerry hamilton

That plane should have been destroyed.
The fact that it wasn’t sent a very big message.

          • Sephy

Indeed, it wasn’t. That’s what I said that the Russians should have at least responded this time.

    • Manuel Flores Escobar

USA did not attack Syria…they sent his zionist dog to do the task…Russia just test Pantsir system which many countries have interest to buy it!…13 of 16 and the last attack 5 of 8 shot down..it is a good ratio vs air to ground missile for Pantsir S1..beside Russia have Pantsir S2 and coming soon Pantsir SM!…for other side Israel hit Iranian advisors..so Iran and Syria( Not Russia) should to response with ballistic missile vs Israel as houttis do when they are attacked!..

      • @Inc2Get

I doubt this was the Pantsir S1 in action. Most likely S-200 Upgraded version. Syria has only 2 Pantsir S1, both are not deployed at the T4 base.

      • Sephy

I know and I support the Russian stance, but my opinion is that considering the situation on the ground, they should have responded at least this time.

    • Joe

I do not think so , Russia does not attack Israeli planes as shown the entire war not one.

      both are buddies

    • Hewal Neutralizer

One can only hope Russia was as brave and heroic as South Front display it to be.

      • Sephy

I think the US is gonna surely attack SAA positions this time. At least to test the Russians. If Russia doesn’t respond, more aggressive attacks will follow.

        • Hewal Neutralizer

Russia didn’t respod like last 10 times, ever. I would bet my money on “Russia won’t do a shit this time too”

  • Lilian Turin

These are coward attacks, like shooting unarmed palestian teenagers. How Russia allows these ongoing situation to persist is beyond me. Surely Russia has leverage on Israel via their deconfliction channels?

  • gustavo

Israel is trying to divert the attention to the civilian killing is doing in Gaza, and at the same time, it is trying to protect its terrorists children in HOMS. Now, the point is….. is Russia goint to made its typical bla bla bla bla, or is planning to do something serious about constant Israel attack to Syria ?

  • Lao Tou

Will Russia respond? That ‘ s the big question.

    • Blucross

Nope, and I am glad they seem to have some sense.

      • Lao Tou

After listening live to Vasily Nebenzya at the UNSC yesterday I fear that you might be mistaken and I quote tbe ambassador’ s words: ” We’ re not particularly keen to be friends with you ( the U.S.). He also warned about ‘grave consequences’ if Russian troops were attacked.

  • Drogba

The zionist lunatics in occupied Palestine are digging their own graves.Do they seriously believe that they will escape Scot free if they provoke a full scale war with Russia Iran Syria and don’t forget China is Russias ally ?.As the Russians warned little Britain, ,you are playing with fire.

  • Miguel Redondo

Here we have a possible reason about US-UK-Israel hysteria

    https://vimeo.com/263728681

Seems to be that a considerable bunch of “western military advisors” have fallen in russian hands in the Eastern Ghouta operation.

    • jerry hamilton

Does anyone have a link to a transcript? My internet is a shared one. Dodgy.

    • Blucross

Mr Trump, please stop acting like a chump. I mean it, You make the rest of us Americans look bad. Please just tell the Generals to get the troops OUT and let Mr Assad run Syria.
      Thanks
      An American Taxpayer.

  • Attrition47

Let’s hope that the success of the modernised Syrian air defences encourages the Leb govt to request their protection so that the zionist filth can be blown out of the sky before they fire at Syria….

  • russ

What a bunch of cowards. They attack from another nations airspace. I understand the hollowco$t is a hoax but maybe…

  • Ma_Laoshi

This was a probing action to see if the Russkies are at all serious. If you don’t take out the airfield, much more is likely to follow. Vlad, what are you waiting for?

  • First Lastname

Did Israel cry out in pain as they struck the airbase?

    • jerry hamilton

Yes but not through pain. That was an orgasm.

      • First Lastname

        Hahahahhah!!!

  • First Lastname

They can’t keep getting away with it.

  • Xanatos

Once again, Israel preempts the US response. Effectively committing the US to a course not of their choosing. It’s the goat leading the elephant.

  • Icarus Tanović

You coming hard, you’re going out sucking dick… Just like idf in this case.
