On February 13, the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have captured the villages of Arshali and Umar Simu from the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in the Syrian area of Afrin. Meawnhile, the YPG hit a Turkish ACV-15 amphibious armored combat vehicle with an anti-tank guided missile in the area of Bulbul.
On February 14, the TAF’s general staff said that 1,485 ‘terrorists’ had been ‘neutralized’ since the start of Operation Olive Branch. However, pro-Kurdish sources describe the numbers provided by Ankara as unreliable. The Turkish military also continues arguing that its forces are fighting not only the YPG but also ISIS in the area.
