The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies have repelled all ISIS attacks, re-gained an area east of al-Suhkna and restored control over the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor highway.

Separetely, the SAA has started storming the ISIS stronghold of al-Mayadin in the Euphrates Valley. Government troops captured the old airport and many other points west and south of al-Mayadin.

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have continued its operation against ISIS in Raqqah city. According to a SDF spokesperson, the group will take control over the city in few days. The SDF has also advanced northeast of Deir Ezzor city and seized Markadah village.

    Nice report with some gaps:

Nothing about developments in and around Idlib, Qaryatayn and the report on Mayadin is overly optimistic unles it refers to the attack of three days ago, which should not be not part of an daily update.

    Otherwise, very nice.

dude chill out, they doing their best smh

    • Django

      Hahaha,
the Dutchnational thinks he can get 24 to 24 new covering. It may
have been that time when the accomplice-packed “imbedded” press on the
tanks could enjoy the joyous entry into Iraq under the Bush hegemony.
Then everything was too predictable and pre-planned. Your friends
Americans have unfortunately not quite more to say … Times have
changed and so the enemy listen in, hence occasionally also holds a
      media embargo.

Many here would like more information incl. lowering fakes.

    • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Those ISIS groups fled some time ago most ended up joining with ISIS in Idlib they were using LDRG tactics of meeting , which requires extensive intelligence to do. Mayadin is being flanked from all sides and Molhassan and other regions are in conflict , Tahtani region is being captured so they flank it properly.

Breaking : from several tweeteraccounts there is the news about a temporary ceasefire in Raqqah.

    Prequel to surrender?

    • dutchnational

Seems IS proposed a deal through tribal forces. To let them go.

      To where?

I am not certain if this is a good deal to make, on the other hand, there are the stuck civillians.

      What do commenters here think?

      • Wahid Algiers

These are no ISIS members willing to defect to SDF. They are hard core minded. So where to go? Now SDF is in order to take and feed them as war prisoners. Otherwise they will be killed if passed through to SAA OR the US takes them for any other wargames around the world. The US steadily needs willing fighters for their own interests.

        • Jens Holm

Thats how it is. You seemes to comment how many civilians there can be possible to have a good life again.

        • Langaniso Mhlobo
