An intense fighting is ongoing between government forces and ISIS terrorists in west of the ISIS-held town of Maadan in southern Raqqah.

Earlier this week, ISIS deployed large reinforcements to the area in order to boost its advance against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces and pro-government tribal forces. In turn, the SAA Tiger Forces redeployed some units from eastern Homs to southern Raqqah to boost the government defense.

Multiple villages in the Ghanim Ali area remain contested amid the ongoing fighting. The both sides claim that they caused large casualties to their enemies.

Why are those areas still painted red on the map? They are not in “goverment control” if they are “contested”.

There’s a lot of back & forth but the SAA have the advantage.

What is about massive air support? Not only to stop the ISIS advances but more to force them back to Ma’ adan. Ma’ adan needs to be encircled to avoid the roaches retreat to DE City to strenghten the forces there.

Air Support comes into action only where there is no fighting… and only if targets are strongly fixed in place :-(

For sure and well known. But some rockets into the gear lines of ISIS could assist and bring some disorder.

When ISIS attempts to break the SAA defensive line they will be forced to concentrate their forces. This will provide a semi-fixed target rich environment, and close air support elements will annihilate them. That’s the way the game is played, and the player with local air superiority is the one who wins. I would really love to have the SAA invite me to their victory party.

SAA and Russia aerospace forces will be successful on stopping this ISIS attack. Then, the road to Deir Ezzor will be unstoppable.
